I booked two Vauxhall Corsa rentals at Gatwick, London for April *, **** to April **, ****; one through your site and the other via Travelocity. After realizing your price was better, I chose your reservation and paid $*** with my Chase MC (Ref.**********). I tried to cancel the Travelocity booking, but Hertz ended up using their reservation (*************) instead of yours. A deposit was made using my Citi Bank MC, and I only noticed the error after * days. Despite requesting an immediate cancellation and refund from your customer service, I was advised to wait until after the rental ends to file a claim. This situation has left me dissatisfied. The mistake primarily falls on Travelocity for not canceling as requested and the Hertz agent at Gatwick for not seeing the duplicate reservations. I ask for a refund of the $*** prepaid to you due to these circumstances and have taken steps to dispute the charge through my bank. Thank you.

I prepaid $[redacted].48 as usual with my credit card, the amount on the booking confirmation. When I arrived at Economy Rental Car, they requested my insurance policy, which no other company I've used before has asked for. They added $[redacted].17 for insurance to my rental. Despite my own insurance coverage, they insisted I take their insurance or no car would be provided. I ended up with charges of $[redacted].65 instead of the initial $[redacted].48. On April 4, I rented a Dollar car at Orlando International Airport with Reference Number [redacted]31. At the rental counter, the assistant took our ID Number [redacted]4 and processed the booking. However, upon reviewing my Mastercard statement, I noticed two different amounts charged. We did not opt for any insurance as we provided our own, yet I was charged $[redacted].87 US by you and $[redacted].96 US by Dollar. This unexpected discrepancy has made this rental cost more than anticipated. After speaking with a representative online from Rental, they confirmed an overcharge on the originally agreed-upon price. The total cost converted into Canadian dollars is $[redacted].09, significantly higher than expected. I visited the Hilton PBI in Florida to pick up my car, but they requested a $[redacted] deposit on a credit card, which I didn't possess. Despite having cash and a debit card, they don't accept debit payments. I took a taxi to the hotel and they suggested I return, as they would waive the $[redacted] deposit and just put a $53 hold on my debit card. I rushed back, only to discover they had rented out my car, promising a replacement on 4/22/19. I arranged for a rental today, 4/22/19, and I don't want to be charged for 4/21, as I only had a rental from 4/22/19 to 4/26. I am requesting a refund for one day of rental. Thank you. - R.H.

Good morning. I had made a reservation for a van (booking reference [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]) with your company for the dates of April 19th to April 22nd through Green Motion Rental. Upon arrival in Fort Lauderdale, there was no van from Green Motion at the airport for pick up, despite being instructed by airport security to contact them. After multiple attempts, I finally reached a Green Motion representative who informed me that there were no rental vehicles available and advised me to contact the company directly. This was during a very busy time, which added to my frustration. Despite my efforts, I was unsuccessful in getting assistance from the rental car company. After searching various companies at the Fort Lauderdale airport, I eventually found a van available. It was disheartening and inconvenient for my family of seven, who had made reservations well in advance. Hello, I rented a car for my son through RentalCars, but they charged me 3 times the amount of $[redacted]. As a pensioner, this has put me in a tough spot financially, especially during Easter. I have tried reaching out to both Australia and the UK, and used the app, but have had no luck in resolving this issue. I am extremely frustrated because I cannot afford food or fuel now. It's unacceptable that no one is helping me get my money back. I am even getting in touch with my solicitors and Thrifty's legal team. Your service has been disappointing, taking advantage of older individuals who may not be familiar with third-party bookings. I will be informing others about my terrible experience with RentalCars.com and will also be reaching out to the media. I, Talal Alaskari, had a car reservation on 04/04/[redacted] at 11:30 pm. Due to a flight delay, I arrived at 12:30 am. Unfortunately, the reservation was canceled as we were past midnight. Despite waiting an hour and getting a car from another company, CENTRAL CAR RENTAL charged me the full amount. I did not use their service and am requesting a refund for the mistakenly taken payment.

I made a reservation for a car rental with Avis in Punta Gorda from 1/12/19 to 4/16/19, under reference number [redacted]94 and confirmation number [redacted]5US0. The total due at pickup was $1,[redacted].38. After completing the rental, my total charges amounted to $2,[redacted].77, which is $[redacted].39 more than the initially quoted price. This additional charge was explained by the Avis staff as taxes and fees, which were not specified in my reservation. I kindly request for a review of my reservation and confirmation numbers, and to receive the paperwork via email. In a printed out excerpt from the question and answer page regarding the inclusions in my rental, it mentioned items like unlimited kilometers, collision damage waiver, theft protection, premium location fees, and local taxes should be clearly detailed in the rental documentation at booking. I reserved a rental car from Payless Car Rental on April 28, [redacted]. On their website, insurance was available for purchase. However, upon arrival at the rental location, I was informed that local car rental without an airline itinerary required multiple items, including a pay stub, which was unexpected. I requested the cancellation of my reservation, which they confirmed.

Upon picking up the vehicle at the Thrifty counter in Orlando, we were informed of an additional US$98 charge for fees and taxes, not mentioned on the receipt or voucher. Reviewing other online documents, we discovered a breakdown showing an additional CAD$73.49 for taxes and fees, totaling CAD$[redacted].74. This conflicting information has us confused. We believe we have paid the full amount as per the original receipt and should only owe the additional CAD$73.49 if necessary. I can provide copies of these receipts if you supply an email address. Please address this discrepancy before our rental return on 8 May.

My wife (F.T., Email: [redacted]) made a car reservation with Thrifty through your service for a quoted price of U.S. $[redacted].97. Upon arrival at the Thrifty location in Tampa, we encountered an issue. Despite stating only I (H.T.) would drive, they insisted my wife, the booker, had to be listed as a driver. We clarified that the rental company didn't inquire about the driver initially. My wife doesn't drive in unfamiliar locations. Consequently, I had to be added as a second driver, costing an additional $[redacted].90, over half the total.
This situation seems unjust. We request a refund of the extra charge paid to Thrifty. Our booking reference is [redacted]66. Kindly advise if a bank statement showing the payment to Thrifty is necessary.

UPDATE: The issue was an unauthorized cancellation of my rental van when I accessed the manage my booking feature online. Despite multiple attempts to contact them via text, phone, and chat, I was unable to resolve the problem. Eventually, I spoke to an agent who could only speak with my husband, the driver. Although he delivered positive news from my texts, upon checking with the rental car vendor, Alamo, I learned the new reservation was also canceled. Alamo was able to save the day by issuing a new contract at the original price, preventing me from paying $[redacted] more from my backup booking. Overall, rentalcars did not solve the issue, causing me hours of frustration trying to connect with an agent.

I made a reservation with Rentalcars.com (reservation number H[redacted]) for a car in Denver. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my driver's license and Dollar wouldn't rent me the car which led to unforeseen expenses for transportation. Despite not receiving the car, Dollar charged me the full amount. I have not received any callbacks despite multiple attempts. I would like to restore my original car rental reservation with Alamo at DCA for a Dodge Caravan, picking up on May 22 and returning on May 24. I made a reservation for a car rental in Ft. Myers, FL, and provided a $40.00 deposit to secure the booking with the understanding that I could cancel before 7/13/19 at no extra charge. However, when I attempted to cancel shortly after, I was informed that the $40.00 deposit was non-refundable per the terms and conditions. This policy is unreasonable as the deposit was simply to hold the reservation, and no other car rental company I've encountered has enforced such a strict non-refundable deposit rule. Despite speaking with a representative named Dave on 5/13/19, there was no flexibility in refunding the deposit. I am seeking a resolution to this matter, otherwise, I will avoid using RentalCars.com in the future and will share my negative experience with my extensive network due to my background in the airline industry.
