Today, I visited Planet Fitness in Rio Rancho, NM for a workout and then had a haircut. During the haircut, I attempted to make polite conversation by mentioning the Super Bowl. The person cutting my hair expressed strong opinions about the Super Bowl, including criticisms of their advertising choices. The conversation then turned to topics like transgender issues, President Trump's commercials, Catholic views on abortion, and political parties. I found the intensity of her opinions and the way she expressed them unsettling, especially considering she had sharp instruments near me.

Hello, I signed up for a VIP membership in early [redacted] with the first payment on Dec 24, [redacted]. During the year, I only went twice. I have a list of all the charges taken from my bank account. The VIP membership is a one-year contract for about $20 a month. However, there have been extra charges of $22 per month and a range of $30 to $40. I cannot log in or find my membership card. I used the membership only twice a year ago. I want this sorted out so no more charges are deducted from my account. I have a contingency plan if we can't resolve this matter.

A new employee, Amy Baker, has recently joined the staff at the Lakewood NY location. Unfortunately, there have been concerns raised about her behavior related to stealing credit card information. Amy has a history of being arrested for this type of activity and has reportedly been fired from a previous job at a local hospital for similar reasons. As a customer, I am worried about the safety of my personal payment information and the potential risk of having her access to it. Many members of the community share these concerns, and if Amy continues to work there, I am considering canceling my membership, along with others who are familiar with her background.

Hello, I wanted to share how I have been impacted by the unintended consequences of the "judgement free zone" policy in your gym, particularly in relation to the water jug aspect of your lunk alarm. I have been diagnosed as disabled for four years due to severe hyperuricemia, leading to gout and kidney stones. To prevent kidney stones, I must consume large amounts of water with lemon. Because of this, I carry a gallon water thermos to stay hydrated. I have unfortunately been labeled a lunk twice at two different gym locations for carrying my water jug. The first time I complied and switched to a small water bottle, resulting in another kidney stone episode. When I returned to using my gallon water jug, I was once again called a lunk by another gym member. Meanwhile, there are individuals in tank tops flaunting their muscles without any repercussions. I do not disrupt others but have faced discrimination due to my necessity for proper hydration. I believe the water jug rule on the lunk alarm signs should be reconsidered as it indirectly discourages essential hydration practices.

Last year, I had to cancel my gym membership due to illness (cancer) and subsequent treatment. I recently learned that I could have simply suspended my membership instead of canceling it. If this is true, I would like to reactivate my membership at the same rate I had last year. I discussed this with the staff and management at my husband's gym location on Leila Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They advised me to address this with the Empress Location in Winnipeg where the cancellation took place. Despite providing a doctor's note as requested by the manager at Leila Avenue, my membership reinstatement has not been processed. It's frustrating that I am being directed to a different location to resolve this issue. I have tried calling the 1-[redacted] number provided, but I was on hold indefinitely. Maria Maglayo.

I have been a member since [redacted], but have only visited a couple of times a year for the past few years. Yesterday, I went to cancel my membership #[redacted]24. I realized it doesn't make sense to keep paying for something I don't use. However, today the annual fee was deducted from my checking account. After contacting the Richmond, IN branch, I requested a refund of the fee or $39.00 worth of product in return. It doesn't seem fair to pay for a whole year when I won't be using the services. While I understand cancelling sooner would have been better, it seems unreasonable to pay for a full year in advance. I was under the impression the annual fee would align with my regular monthly payments at the end of the month. If the refund isn't processed, I may have to raise this issue on social media. Despite the branch staff's suggestion to keep the membership, it wouldn't make sense for me if I'm not using it. I politely asked for the refund of $39.00.

Hello, I recently noticed a $39 annual fee charge from Planet Fitness just 2 days after I canceled my membership with them. Despite being aware of the yearly fee, I canceled my membership on February 1st, [redacted], and yet the $39 charge occurred on February 3rd, [redacted]. A team member confirmed no further payments would be taken, and I possess the cancellation documentation stating no payment was due. I believe I am owed a refund for the annual fee, as Planet Fitness continues to charge for services they are not providing. I have the cancellation form available if needed. Thank you for your assistance. S. Patel

I canceled my Planet Fitness membership on December 19, [redacted]. However, they deducted money from my account on January 17, [redacted]. When I visited the gym, they confirmed my cancellation but mentioned a system error. Despite this, on February 3, [redacted], they charged me $44.07 again. When I returned to the gym, they stated that my membership had restarted, which is not the case. I kindly request a refund for these charges.

I have had multiple issues with Planet Fitness in Albany, GA. Three times, I scheduled appointments for the tanning bed and had to wait for 35 minutes once, which is unacceptable. Despite paying for the black card for access, people without appointments were being allowed in before me. Tonight, after waiting for two people who weren't even booked when I signed in an hour and a half prior, I had to cancel my session. The lack of adherence to appointment times is frustrating, and it's making me consider canceling my membership, as are three other people I know. It's clear the manager is not effectively overseeing the organization of the facility.

During my visit to my local Planet Fitness, I was informed that I couldn't have my gallon-sized water jug with me. The reason given was that it might make other patrons feel uncomfortable. While I appreciate the gym being a judgment-free zone, I don't understand how bringing my water jug goes against that principle. Staying hydrated is important to me, and the gallon jug helps me monitor my intake. I'm puzzled by the idea that this could be deemed as judgmental. It seems no different than someone lifting a heavy dumbbell. I do understand it may not be a significant issue, but it bothered me. If it's the jug today, what might be next? I want to keep using Planet Fitness, but I don't want to support a place that claims to be judgment-free while restricting my choice of water bottles.

I joined the gym on 01/24/[redacted] and was charged $39.00. I inquired about the high charge as online it was listed for $1.00 or even .25 cents. The gym explained that each location operates independently. Despite feeling hesitant, I proceeded with the membership. Shortly after, I noticed the gym was advertising memberships for $1.00. When I contacted them, they claimed to be unaware of the price drop. Frustrated, I visited the gym in person requesting to cancel my membership and to remove all my personal information from their database, including credit card, checking account, and email. The staff promptly canceled my membership, but I insisted on thorough data removal. My membership number is [redacted]62.

I have been trying to cancel my membership since August [redacted], but I continue to be charged. After my husband's passing, I can no longer afford these charges and the resulting overdraft fees. Due to a lack of access to my email and bank statements following a move, I was unaware of the ongoing charges. It is clear now that the company has been continuously charging my card. I kindly request and urge you to refund me for September onwards, as I have incurred $38.00 in overdraft fees from my bank due to this situation. As a widow with a sick daughter needing medical attention, this financial burden is overwhelming. I appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter.

I found a bunch of car keys last night which include about 20 keys and 2 Planet Fitness cards, one of them being a Black Card membership. Also, there is an iLok USB attached which is essential for Pro Tools music software. As an artist and music producer, I believe the owner may share similar interests. Besides returning the valuable keys, including a Ford key with expensive computer technology, I want the owner to know that a fellow musician found them in the hope of connecting. Thank you, John C.

I visited Mentor Planet Fitness on the evening of February 6th, between 9:30 pm and 9:45 pm. During my visit, I noticed three male employees. One of them, who was wearing a black shirt, raised his voice and reprimanded an elderly lady for not putting a chair back after using it. He mentioned that he had just arranged all the chairs and now had to do it again because of her. The interaction seemed disrespectful as the lady appeared to be in her 70s or 80s. I believe that employees should maintain a professional demeanor when addressing customers, regardless of the situation.

Hello, I recently joined Planet Fitness at the Brockport location online. However, when attempting to contact the Brockport location for their hours, I encountered issues with the phone constantly ringing or being busy. Upon checking online, it appears the Brockport location is set to open on March 28. I was unaware of this closure when joining online. As this location is the most convenient for me on my way to work, I am wondering if there are any alternatives available for me to access Planet Fitness before the Brockport location opens. Thank you, Robin D.

I have been navigating the military disability process, and back in August [redacted], I contacted Planet Fitness to cancel my subscription. The staff informed me that I needed to visit in person. In January [redacted], after returning to Alabama from Missouri following my honorable discharge and receiving service-connected benefits, I visited the gym to request the closure of my account and a refund. However, since then, my requests have been ignored by the gym staff.

Subject: Concern Regarding Payment Procedures at Planet Fitness To the Manager/Client Representative at Planet Fitness, I am Wesley, sharing my recent experience at your location at [redacted] Wesley Chapel Rd, Decatur, GA [redacted], at 12:15 pm. I had previously been a member but terminated my membership in 01/[redacted] due to work relocation. Upon returning today to sign up for a 3-4 month use, I was informed of a balance from [redacted]. Despite this, I agreed to settle it. However, I am concerned about the policy that mandates providing bank account details for advance payment. I find it unfair and potentially risky for members like me. I was surprised that only bank account payment was accepted for future services. I kindly urge you to reconsider this policy for the security and convenience of your customers. I plan to escalate this issue and seek further clarification. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Wesley

I had a negative experience at Planet Fitness in Elmwood Park, Illinois on 02/14/20. As a loyal Black Card member who has never missed a payment, I was shocked by the arrogance of the night shift staff. The employee named Derral was incredibly rude and threatened me when I sat in a reclining chair for 10 minutes. He even made me leave without allowing me to use my coins for a massage. I plan to report this behavior to the BBB and customer relations, and will contact the corporate office to ensure that this staff member is reprimanded for mistreating loyal members like myself.

In January [redacted], I paused my account due to neck surgery. In May, I returned and discovered they had resumed charging me. Despite freezing my account in person, I was informed of an unexpected balance of [redacted].94. The staff mentioned there's a limitation of 3 months for freezing accounts, which was not communicated before. I attempted to address this issue without success, unable to escalate it to corporate. Feeling frustrated, I reluctantly paid the outstanding amount. Shockingly, I now face additional charges for the current month due to a short gap in payment. Despite not using the gym for months, the situation has left me puzzled and upset.

I joined the gym on January 5, [redacted], hoping to work out regularly. Due to a job location and schedule change, I had to cancel the membership before January 10th by submitting a cancellation letter at the South Plainfield, NJ facility. Despite not using the facility at all, I was charged for January and February. When I visited on 2/17/[redacted], they refused to refund me and mentioned a termination fee. I signed up with no commitment or fees through my girlfriend's workplace website, opting for a month-to-month plan. The manager seemed unaware of the arrangement made through my girlfriend's job. If my refund is not processed promptly, I will seek legal assistance. -Mike F.
