I was involved in a car accident on August 6 where my [redacted] Chevy Impala was totaled. I am a disabled driver with handicapped plates and a placard. Currently, I am using a rental car provided by NJM Insurance, but I have misplaced my handicapped placard. I need to obtain a replacement to be able to legally park in handicapped spots. Additionally, I would like to transfer my handicapped plates to a new vehicle when I can afford one in the future. Are there any restrictions or limitations on this process? Thank you, Beverly D.

To whom it may concern, I visited the Paterson DMV today at 2:40 pm on December 7, [redacted], to exchange my valid overseas driver's license from the Kingdom of Bahrain for a New Jersey license as I am now a resident. Unfortunately, I faced issues with my current license. The supervisor, George, accused me of forging the license, was disrespectful, and raised his voice at me. He confiscated my license and green card and requested me to return on Tuesday to speak with an investigator, threatening me with forgery charges. After consulting the hotline, I learned it was unlawful to hold onto my license, and upon returning with my American wife, George continued to challenge the validity of my license. My wife suggested verifying my license using its unique numbers and other security features, but George dismissed us. I contacted my brother in Bahrain for a photo of his valid license, which George also critiqued. After much back and forth, George ultimately allowed me to drive with my current license temporarily, insisting I take a road test. Although I am willing to comply, I am perplexed by the discrepancy in the process. I sense mistreatment and discrimination due to my Arabic license and foreign name. I request better training for employees, especially supervisors, on sensitivity and fair treatment. Kindly provide guidance on the next steps. Thank you.

After my father's passing, I encountered an issue with his car registered in Florida, now impounded in NJ. To transfer the title to my name and register the vehicle in NJ, I intend to have the Florida title updated with my details. However, I'm uncertain about which address to use - my NJ address or the Florida one. I fear complications at the NJ DMV if the addresses don't match. Would it be best to list my NJ address on the Florida title before transferring it to NJ, or should I keep the Florida address? My goal is a smooth transition to NJ registration without any address-related hurdles. Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I recently took my daughter for her road test on April 24, [redacted] at the Randolph, NJ motor vehicle office. After being informed we could schedule another appointment in two weeks, we were disappointed to learn that the earliest available slot is on May 30, [redacted]. Waiting that long seems unreasonable, considering we have already waited two weeks. My daughter urgently needs her license, and it's frustrating that we can't schedule the test sooner. We hope to secure an earlier slot so she can retake the test promptly and obtain her license without such a long delay.

I attempted to schedule a road test for my daughter two weeks after her last one. We went for the test on April 24, [redacted], in Randolph, NJ, and were told we could schedule another test in two weeks. However, when we tried to book a new appointment, we were informed that the earliest available one was on May 30, [redacted]. This extended wait is frustrating as we were initially told it would be only two weeks. I urgently need to secure a sooner appointment for her as she needs her license. It has already been two weeks since her last test, and waiting until the end of May would mean over a month of delay. I hope they can accommodate us and provide an earlier appointment, as we have diligently followed the rules and were given incorrect information about the wait time. We have been loyal customers of the Randolph Motor Vehicle and hope to resolve this situation promptly.

I have two questions. I'm 18 years old, I have my permit, but it expired after not getting my license. I'm retaking the written test now, do I need a new permit for this? If so, how long before I can take the road test? Can I use my paystub as proof of address, which has my address and my employer's address? Thank you!

I run a driving school in Trenton. We used to offer written tests, vision tests, and road test scheduling. By removing this service, you've deprived many underprivileged teens of a chance to improve their lives. Why did this change occur? The Stockton St facility in Trenton is perfectly fine, yet you've inconvenienced thousands. The Bakers Basin facility is now insufficient, causing frustration for workers with long lines. This isn't necessary. Please consider restoring the facility for the benefit of our young adults and others in need.

Hello, my name is Heather L. I recently received a letter concerning a registration issue with a vehicle I previously sold. Despite being unaware of the plate return requirement, I promptly visited my local DMV in Vineland, NJ, to turn in the old plates. However, to my dismay, my license was later suspended and I was fined $[redacted] for the oversight. This has left me unable to drive, which is detrimental to my responsibilities as a single mom of 3, especially during these challenging times with the impact of the Coronavirus on my employment. I complied with the state's plate return request within the deadline, so I'm confused by the subsequent suspension. Despite numerous attempts to contact the DMV, the automated system disconnects my call. I urgently need assistance to rectify this error and restore my driving privileges, crucial for meeting my family's needs. I solely own a Honda Accord, which is properly registered and insured.

My son's road test on 3/24/20 was canceled due to Covid-19. The June test was also rescheduled. After being advised by the DMV to attempt a walk-in, we went to the Eatontown branch at 7 AM. Surprisingly, there were enough staff for road tests and no queue. A supervisor recommended calling and requesting to speak to another supervisor for assistance. Despite being on hold since 8:30 AM, we waited until 10:15 AM. This process seems unjust for kids who have been waiting since March. The misinformation and excessive wait times are frustrating. We had to leave the DMV without the test because my son was expected at work in Monmouth County at 8 AM. The bureaucratic delay is disheartening, especially when there were minimal lines at the branch. Driving an hour with tolls for further delays seems unnecessary when my son patiently waited only to be turned away.

I am in the process of selling my car privately. When filling out the back of the title for the sale, I mistakenly entered the "buyer" information instead of the "seller" information, but then corrected it by crossing it out and initialing it. Subsequently, I correctly filled out the "seller" information. I dated the sale as 6/29/20, assuming the MVC was opening that day, but it actually opened on 7/7/20, causing delays in my visit due to long lines. Considering these errors on the back of the title, I am uncertain if I need a corrected or duplicate title to re-fill the necessary information for the sale. Can the MVC accept the current title if both the buyer and I appear in person? If obtaining a corrected or duplicate title is necessary, which one should I request, and how long will the process take at the MVC?

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my handicap placard that expires this month. I mailed it to your office on July 23rd. Rain or shine, I patiently wait at my mailbox for the mail delivery truck. I hope the new placard will soon be in my hands. Unfortunately, I return home empty-handed each day, whether wet or hot, without the placard. I remain hopeful for tomorrow's delivery. It's frustrating not being able to reach anyone by phone as the phone number seems not to work or, oddly, I receive sales messages from AT&T. Frustrating experience with the phone service.

My daughter bought a car from a private seller. She has an appointment at the Trenton DMV tomorrow for registration and title transfer. However, she got an email saying it was cancelled. Is this accurate? Can she schedule a new appointment at a different location quickly? She has had the car for over a week but can't drive it until the registration is finalized. Please advise us. Thank you.

I have been trying to get a replacement registration since I lost my wallet a week ago. Every time I call the phone numbers associated with the site, it says the number cannot be reached or provides dead-end recordings. When I search for "speak to a human," I receive messages indicating the website is not available or does not exist. All I want is to renew my lost registration by getting a duplicate. I have already tried contacting my local SouthplainField branch on Hadley Rd but got nowhere after waiting in line for hours. I am giving it one last try by reaching out here and requesting a call back at [redacted]. I stood in line for two hours at the wrong location in SouthplainField, only to find out they don't handle registration renewals. I'm hoping for some assistance as I urgently need a valid driver's license and insurance card. Please help, Andrew Barnes.

I scheduled an appointment for a REAL ID driver's license online for today (2/26/[redacted]) at 10:25 at the DMV Office located at Harbor Square, [redacted] Black Horse Pike. I brought all the required documents based on the 6 point REAL ID requirements listed on your website. Despite having multiple forms of ID to prove my residency and identity, including a military ID, driver's license, marriage certificate, passport, social security card, utility bills, insurance documents, and birth certificate, I was told by Susan that I needed a paper bank statement. When I showed Susan and her manager the website requirement of a utility or credit card bill, they insisted on the bank statement, causing a disagreement. Despite my attempts to resolve the situation, they refused to process my application and behaved unprofessionally. As a military spouse, I have never encountered such incompetence at other DMV locations. I expect a timely response and a resolution to this matter. Thank you.

Last week, my vehicle was towed in New Jersey by the police because my registration had expired. I am now facing a daily storage fee of $[redacted] until I can renew my registration. I visited the New Jersey Motor Vehicle website and was relieved to find that I could complete the renewal online. However, I encountered a problem when trying to enter my PIN, which I never received in the mail as instructed. Despite calling frequently, I am unable to reach anyone due to high call volume. Meanwhile, the storage fees continue to add up.

This is my third attempt to transfer my driver's license to a new state. I arrived with all the required paperwork totaling more than 6 points as requested. After the first gentleman confirmed everything was in order, I proceeded to have my picture taken and pay the fee. Unfortunately, the staff member handling my paperwork claimed my marriage certificate was not original even though it clearly stated so. I am now unable to secure another appointment for the transfer process. This experience has been frustrating and unnecessary. Despite my best efforts, the supervisor insisted on rejecting my valid marriage certificate. I am seeking assistance in booking a new appointment for my driver's license transfer without facing further issues.

I received some tickets in NYC and was instructed by the NJ DMV to pay them and get clearance from the NYC DMV. I have received the clearance via fax. Could someone please verify the fax number and assist me in reinstating my license? I have been trying to call but the high call volume message persists. I left my call-back number but have not received any calls. Please, can someone help me with this situation? License Number: K3[redacted]2 [redacted] Date of Birth: 03/15/[redacted] Address: 34 Murray Ave, Paterson, NJ, [redacted]

I bought a boat and trailer, but the trailer's title is still in the name of the seller before the person I bought it from. I transferred the boat title successfully, but the trailer's title issue persists. I have tried contacting the previous owner with no success. I have the original title with the former owner's name signed over to the seller I bought the trailer from. Any advice on how to resolve this would be appreciated.
