What is the process for obtaining a REAL ID?

Asked a year ago
To obtain a REAL ID in New Jersey, you must visit a DMV agency in person and bring proof of identity, proof of social security number, proof of New Jersey address, and proof of name change if applicable. You will also need to fill out the required application form. The REAL ID will be issued as a driver's license or non-driver ID card and will have a star in the top right corner. A separate fee may apply for the REAL ID. It is recommended to check the MVC website for a list of acceptable documents and to make an appointment before visiting a DMV agency.
