I paid $80 for a tax pro review and tried to reach out to the CPA five times without any response. I have not had my return filed yet and am disappointed in the lack of communication. I have been on hold for 1.5 hours attempting to change my tax pro with no success. I paid over $[redacted] for this online service and now want to retrieve my return to file it elsewhere due to the poor experience. There is no chat support, and I feel the customer service is lacking. The agents seemed uninformed, making it frustrating to get assistance. The automated system's instructions do not align with the website, adding to the frustration. After 2 hours on hold, I am considering reporting this to the BBB as I have never encountered such problems with TurboTax or any other CPA service.

Good afternoon, I am Lynette Lopez Hernandez. I had an appointment on March 2, [redacted], at 11:15 am with Violeta Perez at the office located at [redacted] 28th St SW in Wyoming, MI, to file my taxes. After completing all the paperwork, I was given the Grand Rapids tax form to mail. After 32 days, I visited the IRS office for another issue and found out that my paperwork was not in their system. I called the Wyoming office and was informed that Violeta was not available. I asked to speak to the manager, but was told they were in a meeting and would call me back, which never happened. I am disappointed because I paid for the service and yet my paperwork was not processed by the IRS. I am hoping for a response to address this issue. Thank you and have a nice day.

I am facing an issue with the Qualifying Dependent worksheet as it is not accepting the data needed to claim the dependent tax credit. My father-in-law is a qualifying relative dependent living with us, meeting all the criteria. Despite checking all the necessary boxes indicating his eligibility, the credit is not being applied. In an attempt to troubleshoot, I tested my daughter as a dummy dependent, and when I incorrectly entered her age as 16, the credit was applied. However, her actual age is 36, and marking her as an "other" type of dependent and confirming she lived with us all year does not trigger the credit. This discrepancy in the system is causing confusion.

I need to discuss my recent tax filing appointment, which lasted nearly 3 hours. I paid $[redacted] for a disappointing experience. The tax associate was unqualified and had to frequently seek help from another agent. Both struggled with entering various forms, making the process frustrating and unprofessional. I am extremely dissatisfied and will not return to H&R Block, nor will I recommend it to others. Paying for a service I could have managed better myself is disheartening. I want to speak directly with someone about how unqualified associates are hired and seek a partial or full refund for the wasted time and poor service received. Please contact me at [redacted].

I am using H&R Block Deluxe + Efile + State to file my federal and Wisconsin state returns. Everything is going well except for the health insurance section. In [redacted], I was covered under my father's marketplace insurance from January to May (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois), then under his employer-sponsored insurance from June to August, and my employer's insurance from September onward. I am filing independently as my AGI surpasses $[redacted]. In the Taxes > Health Care Coverage > Type of Coverage section, I selected "Health insurance through an employer" and "A plan purchased through HealthCare.gov or a state marketplace". On the Premium Tax Credit -- Unique Situations page, I indicated sharing a marketplace policy with someone outside my household, triggering a request to fill out Form [redacted]. Not sure how to proceed as my parents claim the insurance on their taxes and I didn't pay for it myself. Unsure about completing items 12-21 and 30-34 on Form [redacted]. Seeking guidance on what to do next.

I am seeking a refund for our [redacted] tax return. We have a long history with H&R Block and usually have had positive experiences with their services. We requested a review of our return due to concerns about excess withholding from Edward Jones amounting to approximately $2,[redacted]. Despite providing the necessary information, our assigned tax professional, Cindy Moss from Philadelphia, repeatedly asked for details that were already submitted. It appears that significant information was overlooked during the review process, resulting in a substantial discrepancy of over $3,[redacted] compared to the original submission through H&R Block's online system. We also filed a return through another company, which produced results much closer to our initial submission. The disparities in the state tax form were equally concerning. While H&R Block indicated a $3 refund on their system, Cindy's calculations suggested we owed $1,[redacted]. The disparity in our federal refund is also notable, with H&R Block showing a refund of $4,[redacted] compared to over $5,[redacted] as calculated externally. The discrepancies are unreasonable considering the same basic information was provided in both cases. I am unsure of what oversights occurred during the review process and believe a refund is warranted since we ultimately did not proceed with filing through your company.

I experienced a computer malfunction and had to reinstall using my HR Block CD that had the Connecticut state option. Subsequently, I bought and downloaded the Maine state option online but misplaced the email link needed for the Maine download after the computer issue. How can I confirm and obtain another download for the Maine state option? Best, Mike G. 30 Washington Dr Gales Ferry, CT [redacted] Activation Code on the original CD: YTQY-DMR8

I have purchased and filed one Federal and one State tax return via downloads. The Federal confirmation number is XL4P9PHC for $43.50, and the State confirmation number is 2G3URW3K for $39.15. I also mistakenly got charged for 3 additional Federal returns that I did not use since I only needed one Federal and one State return. The wrongly charged confirmations are EG93-GEWP, GBA-JKP2, and RX32-3S6F, each for $43.50. I contacted H & R Block customer service several times but did not find a suitable option for a retired filer. Eventually, I purchased the Basic program download, which allowed me to file my taxes as a retired individual. However, I have been charged an extra $[redacted].50 for the unused Federal returns, which I did not provide credit card information for. I am seeking a refund and kindly ask for my Discover Card to be credited this amount.

I would like to schedule an appointment with Mr. Richard Kassner at Block Advisors located at [redacted] Boone Blvd, Vienna, VA [redacted]. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the potential increase in my taxes if I were to accept temporary employment in Washington, D.C. I am willing to compensate for a two-hour consultation. My [redacted] tax return has been prepared by Block Advisors in Kansas. However, I require the expertise of a Virginia tax professional to determine the tax implications of working temporarily in the D.C. area. I am currently retired on a federal pension and my permanent residence is in Kansas with no plans of relocation. If I were to take temporary work in D.C., I intend to reside in a hotel during that period. Could I please arrange an appointment with Mr. Kassner for the week of April 15th?

I recently filed both state and federal taxes for the first time on your website. I used to utilize TurboTax, but this year they tried to charge me $70. When I received an email offering a 50% discount if I filed within three days through H&R Block, I decided to give it a try. However, upon logging in tonight, I saw a promotion for filing federal and state taxes for free for today only. Rushing to take advantage of the offer before the deadline on 4/5/19, I completed the process only to find out I owed around $80. This was frustrating as I didn't receive the expected discount or the free filing I hurried to complete today. As a result, I paid with a card to avoid having to redo everything with TurboTax for a small discount. Can I please get a refund for the false advertising since the discount wasn't applied as promised at the end of filing?

I have an Emerald Card where I received my tax refund. I also have another bank account and attempted a wire transfer. Instead, H&R Block sent me a check for the transfer amount. Unfortunately, my other account cannot accept checks from my personal account. Now, I have a check I can't cash and request the funds be transferred back to my H&R Block Emerald Card. The transfer amount is $50. Thank you.

I am encountering an error message when trying to open my [redacted] H&R Block Deluxe Federal and State return. The error states "FieldID [redacted] is out of range of ICImuttableidentifier:ImmutibleId([redacted])." It advises me to update the program, but upon attempting to do so, I am told there are no Federal or State Updates available. I recently downloaded the Premium Business version for a relative's taxes, which might be related to this issue. Unfortunately, the link to re-download the Deluxe software has expired. I have invested over $90.00 in H&R Block Software and need assistance as I cannot complete my own return. Could there be a known issue with the Deluxe version this year? Can I please have the opportunity to re-download the Deluxe Version?

I visited H&R Block attracted by their transparent pricing. The Tax Pro promised a sizeable refund, quoting $5,[redacted], but I only received $1,[redacted]. I was unaware I needed receipts for EIC and exemptions, resulting in a $[redacted] fee, not very upfront. The manager refunded the $70 insurance but only gave back $22 and $30. The Tax Pro's advice was completely inaccurate, causing me distress and financial loss. I believe I am entitled to half of my fee back, considering the dispute with the IRS and NYS that challenged my entire return. I'm disappointed with the service and lack of professionalism from the Tax Pro. I'm seeking a fair resolution to this matter.

Hello, I am using your software for self-employment purposes. I have a question regarding my Schedule C. Last year, I moved from Texas to Florida in March. Prior to the move, in January and February, I received 1099s for my landscaping work in Texas. Upon relocating to Florida, I worked for a food delivery service and received a [redacted] from them for the period of March to May. In June, I started a W-2 job. My question is, can I claim all three 1099s under my landscaping business even though two have a Texas address and one has a Florida address? Do I need to separate them for tax purposes? Additionally, I am no longer involved in either landscaping or food delivery. I sold my business equipment upon leaving Texas. Do I need to officially close down my landscaping business considering I had equipment that was depreciated and some of it was converted from business to personal use? Thank you, Randall

My spouse and I visited an H&R Block office last week to file our business and individual taxes. Although we were well-prepared, our tax analyst couldn't finish our file during the appointment, lasting about 2.5 hours, which was unusual for us. It seemed she was unsure about the system as she frequently stared at the computer screen. We had to schedule an additional appointment for today. However, during this meeting, she refused to accept per diem travel and meal reports, asking us to cut numerous deductible expenses, such as last year's tax filing cost and commute mileage. After researching, we found out that using per diem travel costs is acceptable by the IRS. We are uncomfortable continuing to work with her and hope to switch to a different analyst. Could you please provide information on how to proceed and clarify any charges for the previous 2.5 hours? Thank you.

I own a property with one house and a duplex. I reside in one of the duplex units. I acquired it from my parents in [redacted], but the deed wasn't officially recorded until [redacted] when I completed the payment. I am in the process of filing my [redacted] taxes through H&R Block's Premier software on a CD. I am unsure how to answer the question regarding depreciating the real estate, as TurboTax, which I used before, did not seem to inquire about it.

I downloaded my third state and successfully installed it, but it won't load, even though I have already completed the first two states. When I try to reinstall the state, it appears on the list as missing. I have attempted to reinstall it four times now. After calling for support, I was placed on hold for 69 minutes before I had to disconnect the call. I have been a loyal user of H&R Block tax software for over 30 years. If I don't receive assistance by Monday, I am considering purchasing Tax Cut for $49.00.

I downloaded your software to file for my Chapter S business, but I encountered an issue during the interview process. The software did not provide a deduction for the twenty percent income writeoff in the pass-through. Additionally, manually entering an override on line nine for the deduction prevented me from e-filing through your software. As a result, I had to print and mail the return after spending hours on the phone with your support team without resolution. I am disappointed with this mistake and will have to rethink my choice of tax software for next year.
