I attempted to file my taxes using your online platform. During the process, I was surprised to find out that the service would deduct around $[redacted] from my refund, contrary to the advertised free service. Despite this, I proceeded to complete the filing. Unfortunately, my federal submission was rejected, even after multiple attempts. Seeking assistance, I visited an office in Cottage Grove, OR. Initially receiving help from a kind woman, the situation took a turn when another employee intervened, threatening the first woman with termination if she assisted me further. Feeling frustrated, I left without a resolution. Eventually, a friend assisted me in successfully filing through a different service. My experience with H&R Block has been challenging, with an empathetic employee facing unjust consequences for trying to assist customers. I urge the company to improve their process for others in similar situations in the future.

I e-filed my [redacted] taxes with H & R Block on 2/17/19 and have been a loyal customer for years. This year, however, there seems to be missing information that was not submitted to the IRS. As a result, I now have to provide the missing details and face a 6-8 week delay for my refund. I suspect this error on my Federal return may also affect my State return. I need to contact my State to verify if there are any issues. Despite paying $29.99 to H & R Block for accurate e-filing, I am disappointed with this experience and might consider switching tax services next year. I believe H & R Block should refund me the $29.99 fee, as they claim to guarantee accuracy in tax preparation.

A family member recommended your online tax filing platform to me. They mentioned that I seemed to qualify based on H&R Block's income guidelines and could file my [redacted] federal taxes for free. Upon creating an account and providing detailed information, I encountered an issue when trying to input my SSA-[redacted] data. The site continuously prompted me to enter a [redacted]-R instead, which led to confusion. After investing significant effort into this, I discovered the underlying reason for the discrepancy: I did not meet the age requirement of being "61 & under" to avail of the free filing service. Unfortunately, being over 61, I do not qualify for this benefit. Given my limited budget, I am unable to afford the services of a tax preparer currently. I believe that your platform should prominently display the age requirements for tax filing eligibility upfront, prior to users creating accounts or entering financial details.

I have some inquiries about my tax return. I bought H&R Block Deluxe software from their website. Question 1: As a full-time graduate student since Fall [redacted], am I eligible for the American Opportunity Credit or Lifetime Learning Credit? I'm confused by the question, "Did you complete the first four academic years of a postsecondary education before [redacted]?" Does this refer to finishing my bachelor's degree before [redacted] or completing graduate-level studies? Question 2: I received a [redacted]-MISC form with zeros in boxes 2, 3, 4, & 8. Do I still need to include this information? Question 3: When inputting details from my [redacted]-B form, the "Capital gains & losses worksheet 2nd" section requests the "sales price" for a short-term investment like P2P lending on LendingClub. Since there isn't a direct sale, how should I proceed with this information?

My spouse contacted the local H&R Block office to inquire about tax preparation services for us. After providing the necessary documents for personal and partnership tax returns, she was quoted approximately $[redacted] for the service. We scheduled an appointment and met with an agent, who, unfortunately, was unable to handle the LLC portion and passed it to another agent. We patiently waited for the completion of the K-1s for the business. Upon several visits, I was asked for a balance sheet, which was a new request for me. After submitting the balance sheet, it seemed acceptable. Later, I discovered that the final charge for the taxes would be over $[redacted], double the initial quote. Despite attempts to discuss this with the agent and waiting for promised calls, I have not received any resolution or clarification. As the business tax deadline has passed with an extension filed without my full consent, I am now unsure of the next steps and seek a prompt resolution to this ongoing issue.

Hello, I am writing to inquire about the status of my state refund that I have been patiently waiting on since the end of January. While I have received my federal refund, the state refund has not yet been deposited into my account. After speaking with my bank, they suggested that the delay may be on your end. It's been approximately two weeks since that conversation, and I wanted to reach out for assistance. The funds are greatly needed at this time. I also wanted to bring to your attention that I am unable to track the progress of my state refund online due to my birthday falling on Leap Day (02/29/[redacted]). The system does not recognize this date, preventing me from accessing the necessary information. Thank you in advance for your help, and I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Jaeden H.

I am seeking assistance regarding my IRS refund, which seems to have been mishandled. Approximately five weeks ago, my direct deposit details were incorrect, resulting in a paper check being issued. Despite this, the online refund tool indicates that the refund was deposited into my bank account yesterday, which was not the intended method. I have been waiting for a check to be mailed to my GreenDot card, as advised by the IRS representative after correcting the deposit information. However, I have not yet received the check. It is confusing why the refund tool indicates a recent direct deposit when I was informed that a paper check was to be issued due to the previous error with my deposit details.

I visited H&R Block at the Thomas Shopping Center with my son last Thursday to file his taxes. The tax preparer who assisted us did not explain the fees upfront and quickly processed the W-2 without addressing my filing status. I usually file as head of household, but he claimed I couldn't without any explanation. This misinformation left me unable to file correctly. I have always been a loyal H&R Block customer and would like to address this issue promptly. Please contact me at +1-[redacted] to review our documents and correct the tax filing errors. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I found the cost of your service to be almost the same as what my daughter received in her refund. I paid around $[redacted], whereas she is expecting back only $[redacted]. This makes it impractical and unbeneficial for us to consider using your services in the future. Despite her having a [redacted] form with earnings of just under $[redacted], the pricing to file this simple form was excessive. The filing process was straightforward and did not involve any complex elements. The only reason the fee reached $[redacted] was due to a $25 coupon, implying the typical cost would have been $[redacted]. It is disheartening to see young adults being charged such high fees, especially when their income is limited. No significant deductions or itemization were needed, making the service fee seem unreasonable. As a result, we will not be returning as customers.

I recently filed my taxes online with the Premium product. Today, I received confirmation from H&R Block that my return was accepted by the IRS. However, I encountered an issue while trying to e-file my AZ state return as Form [redacted] was not available online. I had to download and complete it myself, requiring me to mail in my AZ taxes. I followed the instructions provided and printed out the necessary documents. My concern arises from the requirement on AZ Schedule A to include a copy of Federal Form [redacted], Schedule A, even though I took the Standard Deduction on my federal return. I need help obtaining a PDF of the completed Federal Form [redacted], Schedule A as the amount from it was used on the AZ Schedule A form. Last year, I e-filed my AZ return without any problems. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. Thank you, Kevin.

I used the HR Block Deluxe tax software on Windows to assist my mom with reporting the sale of her house on her federal taxes. The software worked well and correctly calculated the federal exclusion. However, when I entered the federal tax information into the PA schedule SP, I noticed that the software doubled the Total Eligibility Income by recording the house proceeds twice. Even though my mom meets the Pennsylvania tax exclusion requirements as stated in their brochure, the Schedule SP does not grant the exclusion because the house sale amount keeps getting added back into her income on line 8. Therefore, I'm unable to isolate her income without the house sale in order to qualify for the exclusion. Her income without the house sale is $[redacted], which should meet the requirements for a [redacted]% exclusion.

Dear customer service team, My name is Devon Ballwanz. I recently visited one of your facilities to have my taxes done. Despite completing the process, the tax preparer encountered issues with the software not accepting my [redacted]-A form. This led to receiving a request from the IRS, prompting a return visit to H&R Block for a redo. Unfortunately, the same software issue persisted, causing delays and frustration. Eventually, I had to mail the required paperwork to the IRS, extending the waiting period for my refund. This experience has left me dissatisfied, especially considering the $[redacted] fee paid for the service. I am now contemplating not using H&R Block in the future. I contacted customer support seeking a refund, to no avail. I am eager for a prompt resolution to this matter. Thank you for your attention.

While completing my son's tax returns using the downloaded Deluxe program, I encountered an issue. Before finalizing and e-filing the return, I mistakenly accessed the "File" tab and "Finished" sub-tab. The program indicated that the return had been e-filed, which was incorrect and caused concern as I had not finished reviewing the return or entered a pin code. After a frustrating 30-minute wait on the phone with a representative who couldn't provide an explanation, I discovered the return had not been filed. However, the misleading message still persists. This programming error is concerning, and the lengthy wait time for assistance is also problematic. I plan to explore other options for filing my family's taxes next year.

I utilized the online HR Block software to complete my taxes. After moving in [redacted], I had queries about filing as a part-time resident in different states. Consequently, I opted for the Ask a Tax Pro supplement. Unfortunately, the advice given by the tax professional was inaccurate, resulting in my NY return being rejected. Subsequently, when I attempted to address the issue on the platform, I discovered that the tax pro service was unavailable. I had to physically visit an HR Block office to rectify my NY return and amend my CA return. Regrettably, I was charged twice for the NY return (online and in person) and for the tax pro service that provided the incorrect guidance. I am seeking a refund for both services ($36.99 for the NY return and $39.99 for the tax pro service, totaling $76.98) because I essentially paid double for the same service to HR Block.

I am a victim of fraud at one of your lending locations after receiving a bill from HR Block claiming I borrowed money in November [redacted]. I have never had an account or borrowed money from you. When I called the number on the bill, [redacted], they asked for my social security number, which I refused to provide. They seemed clueless and opened a case for me, suggesting I file a report at a local office. Unfortunately, the Palmetto Bay FL office was also clueless and didn't seem to know what to do. I am trying to resolve this with the Senior Tax Analyst Office Manager at [redacted], but they are not helping. I have informed my accountant and opened a Lifelock account for protection. I need someone capable of fixing this issue promptly. The bill shows the last four digits of the account as [redacted] and the reference number is [redacted][redacted][redacted]. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience.

I have a case number #[redacted]. I've spent almost 7 hours online speaking with about 14 H&R Block representatives to address this issue. Each time I'm told they can't figure it out and someone will have to get back to me. The first time, a week went by, and I had to call them. The next time exceeded 48 hours, so they left a number to call back, but it was just a general queue. I was informed that my case has been escalated to tier 2 and a supervisor was supposed to address the issue. When I do connect with someone, they seem clueless about the case, and it's evident that no progress is being made, regardless of what I've been told. I am looking for accountability and better customer service. This has been ongoing for 2 weeks. Initially, I was giving the benefit of the doubt regarding my question about QBI, but now I suspect that Block has a software problem that they are not acknowledging.

Dear Sir/Madam, I believe there has been a misunderstanding regarding the free tax preparation service advertised on your website. Upon reading about the FREE tax prep and Free tax filing options, I assumed that only very simple returns, such as using standard deductions with one W2, would be free, while more complex filings would incur charges. However, after starting to file my daughter's return with these simple conditions, I was surprised to learn that I needed to upgrade to the "Deluxe" version for $49.99 to file the state taxes and faced additional charges totaling $97.00 for a supposedly free service. The experience was further complicated by technical issues on the website, which I suspect may have been aggravated by an incorrect entry on my part. Despite my frustration, I would like to commend your support team for their assistance in resolving the issue after spending about 20 minutes on the phone. I am reaching out to seek clarification on the charges before considering sharing my detailed experience on platforms like Yelp, Facebook, and Twitter. Sincerely, Bob Cirr Contact: [redacted]

I want to share my recent experience at H&R Block. I had a scheduled appointment and upon arrival, I was immediately taken aback by the overwhelming smell of marijuana in the office. The representative was trying to mask the scent by spraying air freshener. During the meeting, the staff member informed me that they were not familiar with a particular aspect of my taxes and mentioned that the knowledgeable staff only worked during the day, leaving by 4 pm. They suggested coming back later or having a different representative assist me. This made me question why an appointment was even set for 5 pm with an inexperienced staff member who was using drugs. I found this entire experience extremely negative, leading me to seek tax assistance elsewhere. It is concerning that a company would allow such behavior from their employees, especially when dealing with something as important as tax preparation. Professionalism is crucial, and clients should feel confident that their taxes are being handled by competent and sober individuals.

Hello, In recent years, I have been using H&R Block software to file both federal and Missouri state taxes. While using the software to file my state taxes, I indicated that I live in St. Louis, but it did not adjust for the local taxes due to the city. As a result, I am now facing significant back taxes, fines, and interest for [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]. While I accept responsibility for the back taxes, I believe H&R Block should cover the fines and interest since it was due to the software's error. Moreover, the software overstated my federal tax liability for the mentioned years because it did not include the Saint Louis local taxes in my itemized deductions. I urge H&R Block to take responsibility for these mistakes. The accruing interest on the back taxes is a growing concern, so I appreciate a prompt response. Thank you, -Piotr W.
