Dear Georgia Power, I am April Guerrero, a loyal customer of six years. My husband and I chose budget billing for our family of four to avoid surprise payments. Despite transitioning our service three years ago to our current address, our most recent bill in June was unexpectedly high due to an erroneous disconnection and reconnection request we did not make. We are now burdened with a $[redacted] bill, which includes a reconnection fee and power consumption charges. As my husband is the sole provider for our family, this situation has caused financial strain. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this issue, we are left without a satisfactory resolution. We reluctantly accept responsibility for this inflated bill to ensure our children have essential power supply. I implore you to rectify this situation, implement a security code on our account, and provide timely feedback. Sincerely, April Guerrero.

I am frustrated with the $[redacted] deposit charge for paying my bill late. I recall paying a $[redacted] deposit when I first signed up with GA Power. Struggling to pay my bill, it's tough to come up with an extra $[redacted]. While late fees have been paid without issue, additional charges remain unclear. Although I understand the business aspect, consider that I do pay my bills despite the timing. Unfortunately, due dates fall a few days before my payday, making prompt payment challenging. Working to meet my obligations is already tough, and the added deposit doesn't help.

My electricity is on a prepay account, and it was turned off today. I made a payment, but now it shows a -$4 balance, which should not be possible with a prepaid account. I urgently need assistance as there are children with special medical needs in my home. I have made the payment, so the negative balance is a mistake on your end, not in line with the prepaid agreement. Please resolve this issue immediately. I should not have to wait until morning for a mistake that is the company's fault and not part of the prepay agreement. Please restore my power after receiving payment. For reference, the tracking number for the payment is [redacted]. You can reach me at [redacted]. I am considering legal action if this matter is not resolved promptly.

I would like to express my appreciation for Jolene at the customer service help desk. Earlier today (3/11/[redacted]), during a website outage, I reached out for assistance with transferring my service to a new address. Although Jolene couldn't assist me immediately due to technical challenges, she kindly informed me that I could call back until 8 PM for support. Jolene later surprised me with a call around 4 PM, letting me know that the systems were back up and offering to proceed with my address change, efficiently using the information she had. This follow-up call was truly exceptional and resolved my transfer request swiftly. I wanted to acknowledge Jolene at the Georgia Power customer care center for her outstanding service.

As loyal customers of GaPower for more than 40 years, my husband and I have noticed a decline in the quality of service provided by the subcontractors responsible for trimming tree limbs near the power lines. Several incidents over the past few years have caused damage to our property, including getting trucks stuck, damaging fields, running over cement, blowing out tires, knocking down mailboxes, and collapsing part of our driveway near the culvert. Despite contacting the subcontractors each time for repairs, the quality of work has been subpar, requiring us to redo the repairs ourselves. With age catching up to us, we are concerned about the ongoing issues and the potential difficulty of dealing with them in the future. I have reached out to the state authorities, as our property is located on a state road, regarding the recent collapse of a section of our driveway due to heavy rain.

My spouse was diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer and underwent chemotherapy, leading to surgery to remove the bladder. I had to leave my job to look after her, relying on military retirement funds. Georgia Power sent a letter about a $[redacted] deposit on my next bill, which I cannot afford. Due to my wife's condition, working is not an option, and I am her sole caregiver. If the deposit is necessary, I request it to be divided into increments over three months, as returning to work is not possible for the next several months, and cutting off electricity could endanger my wife's health.

Good evening, my name is Antonio Davis. Unfortunately, after my partner of 17 years passed away, the power was disconnected due to a bill totaling $[redacted].00. Even though I activated a new account and spoke with a representative for over 30 minutes to transfer the service into my name, the power has been off for 2 days now. I was assured someone would come out to activate it today, but when I returned home after 9pm, there was still no power. The new account number is 37[redacted]2, and the previous account belonged to Roger Jennings Jr. at [redacted] 13th Street Ne, Atlanta [redacted].

Dear President Paul Bowers, Solar power is gaining widespread support in Georgia as a sustainable and cost-effective energy option. Beyond its environmental benefits, it is proving to be more affordable for both consumers and producers compared to traditional energy sources. While the initial investment in solar panels is high, their minimal maintenance requirements and lower production costs make them a compelling choice. The efficiency of solar energy decreases energy loss during transport, reducing costs for all involved. With a significant decrease in wasted energy during production, solar power is a lucrative business opportunity with low risks and high returns. Energy storage capabilities of solar panels help prevent blackouts, benefiting both consumers and producers financially. Moreover, the quiet operation of solar energy facilities allows for more urban placement without disrupting the environment. By producing no greenhouse gases, solar power aligns with environmentally conscious practices, attracting individuals and companies seeking sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, government tax breaks for solar energy users and producers further incentivize its adoption. Considering these advantages, integrating solar power into Georgia Power's energy generation methods is a step in the right direction. Best regards, Brianna Vermilya Gwinnett Technical College

I need to discuss the excessive billing situation with you urgently. The house has been unoccupied, with items sold, and I have been away from DC. There are no appliances running, and I find it hard to believe the meter reading is accurate. When I last sent payment via Western Union, I had not been there for over a month. I am yet to return, so I am concerned about the unusually high charges for a vacant property. Please contact me to address this matter promptly. Thank you.

I want to share my recent experience with the leasing office at my residence. Due to an error in my approval paperwork, the wrong information was submitted, resulting in my electricity being disconnected. As a mother of eight children living in domestic violence housing and currently unable to work, various assistance groups and individuals have been supporting me with my needs. The individual who usually covers my $75 to $80 light bill for me is struggling to pay the increased $[redacted] bill. Being without electricity not only violates my lease but also impacts my family's well-being. The leasing office has agreed to accept partial payments until the full balance is settled. Any guidance or support in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is a broken pole endangering the intersection of Watson Street and College Street in Union City, Georgia [redacted]. Despite multiple attempts to alert Georgia Power, the issue remains unresolved. The pole poses a significant risk as it leans over the roadway, broken 4 feet from the ground with telephone wires attached. Confusion arose when both Georgia Power and AT&T denied ownership. Only after AT&T's inspection did they confirm that the pole belongs to Georgia Power. Personally verifying the Ga Power metal label on the pole, it's evident where the responsibility lies. Urgent attention is needed to address this hazard before any accidents occur. Sincerely, C. Corridon.

The power at [redacted] Central Park Lane in Evans, Georgia is currently out. The house is undergoing restoration. Georgia Power crew visited and mentioned they need a certificate from the Columbia County inspector to reconnect the power. Columbia County confirmed the approval is on the Georgia Power website. Unfortunately, there seems to be a miscommunication causing delays. The necessary certification is in place, and we urgently need Georgia Power to restore the power as soon as possible. The downtime is causing financial losses. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The power went out on Rocky Rd at 4 am on October 29 due to severe weather. While neighboring streets have had their power restored, Rocky Rd has been overlooked multiple times. Despite assurances that the issue was fixed, our street still remains without power. Shockingly, we have been informed that it will be another three days until power is restored. This seems unfair as all surrounding streets have already been addressed by GA Power, leaving us in the dark. The neglect has caused us to lose all our perishable food and puts my son's expensive insulin at risk. It appears that Rocky Rd was mistakenly omitted while restoring power to the area. This level of service is unacceptable from GA Power, leaving us frustrated and inconvenienced.

In the past year, we've experienced four power outages due to the pole on our property. To protect our trees on our wooded lot, we are seeking to have the service transitioned underground. Despite my efforts in contacting customer service to arrange for Georgia Power engineers to handle the underground installation, progress has been stagnant. Each time I call, I'm assured a work order will be placed, but unfortunately, no action follows. I'm unsure of the next steps to pursue to move this project forward efficiently.

I represent Petersburg Plantation Apartments at [redacted] Old Plantation Rd., Martinez, GA [redacted]. Following the departure of the previous tenants, Georgia Power dispatched technicians to disconnect the electricity due to a loose power meter box on the building's side. After engaging an electrician to mend the box securely to the wall, we contacted Georgia Power to restore service under the business name Petersburg Equity. Despite their assurance that the power was reinstated, our maintenance team discovered upon examining the unit that the breakers were inactive, and power couldn't be restored within the apartment, regardless of the breaker adjustments made.

The team that cleared our right-of-way left a large mess behind with their chipper and incomplete work, rendering part of my yard inaccessible. I require assistance in having this mess cleaned up promptly. I also need to address the damages caused and discuss the dismissive attitude of subcontractors with a Georgia Power supervisor. Unfortunately, the trimming crew disregarded what was on the ground, inefficiently cutting irrelevant branches, wasting time and resources. My name is Paul A. and my address is 19 Parker Road, Auburn, Georgia [redacted]. Please reach out to me at [redacted]. Thank you.

Dear "Santa", My name is Sue Valerio, and my husband Dan and I relocated from California in April. We are both 78 years old. Our son, Tony, has kindly been hosting us along with our meager belongings since our move. We managed to gather enough funds to make a down-payment on our forever home in Rome. Dan, an Air Force veteran, is a hard worker who battled Stage 4 lung cancer six years ago and is facing a recurrence now. We are eager to settle in a stable environment to receive cancer treatment at the VA facility in Atlanta and the Harbin Cancer Center in Rome. Our home at [redacted] Wayside Road, Rome, GA, is being constructed by Jim Chile's from JC Homes. While the house is expected to be ready by the end of December, Georgia Power approval for our electric work may delay our move-in for 3-4 weeks. Any help in expediting this process would be greatly appreciated. Living on a fixed income, we face financial penalties due to the delayed occupancy affecting our mortgage rate. Miracles and hopes are not limited to childhood. Wishing you a festive season, Dan and Sue

The Brantley DFCS has made a payment on behalf of your customer. They have sent a check that has cleared according to DFCS records. However, Georgia Power is threatening to disconnect the power even though the bill has been paid. The check number for $[redacted].37 is [redacted]83. The payment covered Wanda Smith's account #12[redacted]9 and another account in Lowndes County. Ms. Smith, a grandmother raising her grandchild, is facing disconnection due to a posting error by Georgia Power. Despite attempts to reach customer service without success, it is crucial to address this issue promptly to ensure Ms. Smith's power remains on.
