We bought a GE washer/dryer set over five years ago and had a service contract that expired six months back. We only used the equipment for six months yearly for two retired adults in Florida. Today, the washer didn't drain properly. We have a service call scheduled for Monday, but we are frustrated about potentially paying $[redacted] plus parts and service for a set that is still in very good condition. We trusted GE's reliability when we made our purchase and are now questioning it. We hope to find a resolution to this issue.

I purchased a GE washer on February 19th, [redacted]. I needed service for the LID LOCK shortly after. The service man returned to install the parts but now another part, the Main Board, is needed. I am extremely frustrated with the wait for parts, technician visits, and long hold times when calling customer service. I am requesting a refund as I do not want this machine anymore, even if it is repaired. I am planning to file a complaint with the BBB regarding this ongoing issue. It has been three weeks, and I am unable to use my brand new washer.

Hello! I purchased a 48-inch built-in Monogram that has been quite troublesome. Despite having an Assurant warranty, I faced multiple challenges with their repair services. Often, two technicians would visit and offer conflicting diagnoses. Could you kindly share a record of all the repairs conducted? Is there any solution for the frequent malfunctions? Would it be possible to receive a credit towards a new GE product? I've noticed others experiencing similar issues with GE Monogram appliances. I've incurred substantial costs for repairs and had several vital components replaced. Thank you.

Case Number: [redacted]56
I am the owner of a GE Profile refrigerator purchased on June 1, [redacted], and delivered on June 8, [redacted]. On April 20, [redacted], I contacted customer service due to a loud noise and ice-making issues. A technician was scheduled for April 26, [redacted]. However, on April 24, [redacted], the refrigerator completely failed, resulting in spoiled food.
The technician on April 26, [redacted], diagnosed a defective compressor and ordered parts. The parts were replaced on May 4, [redacted], but by May 7, [redacted], the refrigerator malfunctioned again, leading to further food spoilage.
During the technician's visit on May 17, [redacted], it was discovered that the new compressor was also faulty. After expressing my dissatisfaction, the technician arranged for a replacement refrigerator, which should have been followed up within two days.
As of May 19, [redacted], I had not received any communication from GE, and upon inquiring, I was informed of delays due to an out-of-stock ice maker on backorder. I am frustrated by the lack of proactive communication and the prolonged timeframe for resolution. I am now awaiting a call from the case manager.

Dear General Electric Customer Service,
I am writing to share my disappointment regarding my recent experience with the GE Dryer, model GTD42EASJWW, that I purchased on April 5, [redacted]. Initially, the dryer functioned perfectly, but it encountered a malfunction on May 18, [redacted], prompting me to seek assistance.
Following Lowes' guidelines, I contacted their Cone Blvd store in Greensboro, NC, on the same day to report the issue. However, as their return policy for major appliances is limited to 48 hours, I was directed to contact General Electric directly, which I did on May 18, [redacted].
After reaching out to General Electric, I managed to schedule a service call for May 30, [redacted]. During the visit, the technician identified that the repair required the heat housing and wire. Unfortunately, the necessary part was on backorder, with an extended wait until July 13, [redacted].
Being a loyal General Electric customer since [redacted], I have always appreciated the reliability of your products. The delay in obtaining the crucial part has caused inconvenience. I hope General Electric will address this situation promptly by expediting the availability of the part or providing alternative repair solutions.
Looking forward to your response on the steps taken to resolve this matter.
Sincerely,
Wesley Smith

While my GE washer was running and washing the mattress cover from our bed, my daughter and my three-year-old and 10-month-old grandchildren were visiting. We were celebrating our dog's fourth birthday when we heard a loud explosion coming from the laundry/dining area. We rushed in to find the washer had exploded, almost turning completely around and falling off the platform where the washer and dryer are placed. Water was spilling everywhere. Thankfully, we were home because our real hardwood floors could have been damaged. We have numerous pictures documenting the extent of the damage to the washer. The tub had come loose, causing significant damage to both the inside and outside of the washer. Additionally, it tore large holes in my mattress cover.

I had a service call today with confirmation number [redacted]87, and the technician declared my side-by-side refrigerator as unrepairable. I have not received any documentation regarding this service call, and I require it for my Visa credit card insurance company. Kindly send me the documentation for my service call on 6/19/[redacted], confirmation number [redacted]87, which should include the Statement of Non-Repair, along with the diagnosis and reasoning provided. I need this information to file a claim with my credit card company, which offers an extended warranty. Thank you, Debra V.

I purchased a GE dishwasher in January [redacted] with the model number GDF535PSR0SS and serial number VR798568B. While I've been able to address mechanical issues through my home repair contract, I've encountered an unexpected problem with rust developing on both the upper and lower racks within the past 6 months. This has led to some of the tines breaking off, which is concerning considering the brand is GE. Initially, I attempted to address the rust with appliance repair paint, but unfortunately, the damage is extensive with numerous spots and missing tines. I believe that I should be eligible to receive replacement racks, and if I need to purchase them, I hope for a discounted rate. It's disheartening to realize that the cost of two new racks is not far off from the original price of the dishwasher itself.

Case number [redacted]8: My Profile refrigerator is 3.5 years old and located in my second home. The repair service recommended replacing six parts, including the motherboard. I believe this is excessive since I had issues from the first month, such as leaks that were dismissed as normal. I contacted the extended warranty, and they scheduled a repair in three weeks. However, I find this situation unreasonable since the refrigerator has not been heavily used. Now, with a house full of guests and no working refrigerator, I am frustrated. I tried calling for assistance but waited on hold for 40 minutes with no response. -AR

I purchased a GE - 4.8 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer (Order Number [redacted][redacted]) which was installed by Best Buy on June 20, [redacted]. Unfortunately, on the evening of June 7, [redacted], it started running on its own and wouldn't turn off even when I pressed the power button. After contacting Best Buy through chat on June 8, I was advised to reach out to GE for warranty service.
Subsequently, I called GE at [redacted], and they arranged for A+ Appliance technicians to come to my address at [redacted] Foothill Blvd, La Canada Flintridge. The technicians identified a faulty control board and replaced it on June 19, however, they accidentally broke the lid lock during the repair.
After follow-up calls, the replacement part arrived on July 13, but A+ Appliance was unable to repair it properly and suggested contacting GE for a possible replacement under warranty. I then spoke with Ashley at GE ([redacted]) who advised me to reach out to consumer relations at [redacted] regarding a warranty replacement.

On 2/20/[redacted], I bought a GE microwave from Lowe’s. I opted for GE for its reputation and reliability, even though it was pricier than other brands. Unfortunately, the microwave stopped heating yesterday, even though it turns on. Despite trying troubleshooting steps and researching, the cost to repair seems prohibitive. I am disheartened by the premature failure of the GE microwave, just a few months out of warranty. Typically, microwaves last 7-8 years, but this one fell short. I eagerly await your response.

My washer is still under warranty, and it broke six weeks after I got it. A technician was sent to fix it, but now it won't drain since he worked on it. It has been out of order for three months, which is causing a big problem. I need this fixed as soon as possible. I have tried calling the technician, but he doesn't return my calls or show up when he says he will.

I bought a GE window heat and air unit with paperwork dated 7/29/22. The installer came yesterday, 7/18/23, to install it, but it didn't work. The unit has been stored properly since purchase during construction of my business, which was delayed due to family illness. Despite the box being unopened until installation, Conn's in Homewood, AL, refused to exchange it. I never used the unit, so it must have been faulty from the start. I'd like to return this one and receive a working unit in return. Looking forward to your response. Thank you.

I need to get my new dishwasher repaired. A technician came and identified a leaking seal. After scheduling an appointment for the repair, they failed to show up, ignoring my calls and texts. Now, I am trying to find a new repair service as my experience with GE has been frustrating. I have been on hold with GE customer service for an hour and a half to address this issue. It's disappointing as all my appliances are from GE and the quality seems to have declined compared to before.

I am frustrated with the performance of my refrigerator and freezer unit. It fails to maintain safe temperatures for storing meat in the freezer and diabetic supplies in the refrigerator. Additionally, it defrosts the freezer randomly and struggles to keep the freezer below 0 degrees Fahrenheit consistently. I have to keep both the freezer and fridge settings at 5 at all times, which seems inefficient. Moreover, despite being marketed as a garage-ready unit, it does not meet this claim. Both service technicians I have consulted have informed me that this fridge will never be able to maintain the proper temperatures as advertised.

My 3-year-old GE Profile refrigerator/freezer malfunctioned, requiring a repair service visit resulting in the unit deemed unrepairable. I lost food and incurred a $[redacted] repair cost. GE offered a $[redacted] "Good Will Rebate" for another GE appliance, which wasn't helpful as I urgently needed a replacement in Greensboro, GA, where I bought a $2,[redacted] Kitchen Aid fridge. This situation has made me reluctant to buy another GE product following a similar issue with a 4-year-old GE washing machine. I've been on hold with the Consumer Help Line for 30 minutes and prefer not to discuss privacy policies.

My GE refrigerator, model PSS25NGMD BB, has stopped working after 21 years of reliable service. Throughout its use, it never once had any issues. I am grateful for its performance all these years.
I missed the recent GE sales event and urgently need a new refrigerator, preferably a black french door model. I am interested in any loyalty discounts available for a replacement. I aim to support American manufacturing, so I'm looking for a fridge made in the US, possibly in Kentucky. Are there three-door models also manufactured domestically, or are they made in Mexico like my previous one?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I purchased a GE washer and dryer for my son and his wife on March 8, [redacted]. Unfortunately, the dryer stopped working two and a half weeks ago. Despite my daughter-in-law's efforts, GE has been giving her the runaround with scheduling a repair. Now they are saying someone can't come until August 21st, which is unacceptable as she has two young children to take care of. I am very disappointed with the customer service and warranty department. I will be reporting GE to the BBB. Please contact me at [redacted].

I placed an order for a GE Refrigerator model #GTS22KGNRBB on June 6, [redacted], with a scheduled delivery of June 12th. However, I was informed that the item was on backorder until July. The fridge arrived on July 6th without screws for the handles and with the wrong freezer shelf. After requesting a replacement, a second fridge was delivered on August 5th, but it had dents and scratches, so I refused the delivery. The replacement won't be available until the end of September. I suggested just receiving the shelf separately, but it's also on backorder.
My main concern is the lack of communication between Home Depot and the availability of products. It's frustrating to not be aware of backorders when making a purchase. This experience has been inconvenient and disappointing due to the issues with the deliveries. I have expressed my dissatisfaction with the quality control and the difficulty of this situation. I am considering returning the item to Home Depot and exploring other brands.

I installed a GE Energy Smart General-Purpose CFL bulb in my master bedroom lamp on 1/19/[redacted]. Unfortunately, it stopped working on 8/16/[redacted], well before its expected 9-year lifespan. Considering the lamp is only on for about 10 hours a day, this bulb lasted only 1 year and 8 months. The lamp and cord are still in good condition, so the issue seems to be with the bulb itself. I purchased the bulb for $6.98.
I attempted to submit a contact form on the GE website to report the problem, but I encountered difficulties because the product code field was required and wouldn't accept the code ([redacted]) from the original box of the bulb.
