The email was sent to my Yahoo account, although my Facebook email is [redacted] After replying to the email (which I now regret), my computer initiated an unexpected automatic update, a departure from its usual behavior of updating when I shut it down. I'm unsure if the email was genuinely from Facebook. As a precaution, I've begun the process of deleting my account within the 30-day period.

Rather than the usual 1-2 notifications related directly to me (like friend requests or photo tags), I am now bombarded with numerous notifications unrelated to me (such as friends adding to their stories or liking posts).
