I am having trouble logging into my account on duke-energy.com. The website is asking me to re-register for My Account, but when I try, it says a different email is associated with my account, even though I didn't provide one during registration. I've attempted to register multiple times using various options like my SS#, account number, phone number, last 4 of SS, and date of birth, but I keep getting the same rejection message about the email address. My account number is [redacted], located at [redacted] Downing Street, Greensboro NC [redacted]. My phone number is [redacted] and my preferred email is [redacted] I am Wilson L. Dawson but go by Bill.

I am in need of a meter repair urgently. The voltage to the main breaker is insufficient, causing multiple issues in the house. An electrician visited today and identified the meter as the problem, along with five damaged breakers and a malfunctioning dryer. I have scheduled another inspection for tomorrow. The technicians arrived quickly and discovered that two underground power lines to both my house and the neighbor's were damaged. I am concerned about how long this issue has been present and if it affected my electric bill. The repairs have incurred costs, including fixing the faulty breakers that posed a fire hazard. I believed the meter to be a smart meter that should have alerted for such problems. The unexpected expenses, totaling nearly $[redacted], excluding the dryer repair, are frustrating. I wish a company as large as Duke Power would offer more assistance beyond fixing the lines, especially considering regular bill payments. This situation is unsettling, as I trust utility companies to maintain a safe working environment.

For months, I have been having trouble accessing my account. Whenever I try to log in, the new registration screen appears, even though I have already completed it before. This loop continues each time I attempt to sign in, with the system alternating between telling me that I am registered and behaving as though I am not. Despite knowing my username and password, I even tried a different password, leading to being locked out and having to request temporary passwords repeatedly. This frustrating cycle occurs regardless of whether I use my phone or PC, Mozilla or Chrome. The account is linked to [redacted], though I manage the bill payments. Previous attempts to seek help through Facebook were unproductive, as the responses received were not helpful. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated, as I just want to log in and pay my bill without these ongoing complications.

Hello. I noticed on your website that there is a $[redacted] rebate offered for a central heat pump with a SEER rating of 17 or higher in North Carolina. My installer, Temperature Design, who is listed as an approved vendor, is currently installing a Mitsubishi 17-SEER whole house system for me. This is not a mini-split system. However, I was informed by your representative that there are no rebates available for Mitsubishi products. I would like to request a review of this policy regarding Mitsubishi products, as this is a whole house HVAC heat pump system, not a mini-split. It seems there may be a misconception that Mitsubishi only offers mini-split systems. I am open to having you visit my home to inspect the HVAC system if needed. I reside in Indiana and recently received my electric bill, noticing a significant discrepancy in the reading. With minimal heating usage, we anticipated a decrease in our bill; however, it nearly doubled. Suspecting a potential error in the meter reading, particularly because we have yet to receive the smart meter installation mentioned last fall, I observed an alarming rate of energy consumption within just 5 days after the billing period. Unable to contact Duke over the weekend, the situation is unsettling as our energy usage appears unusually high compared to last month. I am unsure why this is happening. The Duke Energy tree contractors cleared the power lines near my residence at [redacted] Mount View Drive, Germanton, North Carolina. Initially, they used a large tractor to cut limbs which led to debris scattering across my boat, trailer, and property. Subsequently, another contractor cleaned up most of the mess but left behind a fire hazard on my right of way, making it impossible for me to mow or bush hog due to the excessive tree branches left behind. I am requesting the subcontractor to return and restore my land to its previous condition, eliminating the fire hazard so that I can maintain my property without any issues. This is a private drive, not state-maintained, and I would appreciate immediate assistance in resolving this matter to avoid any further escalation.

I need to start a new service on May 10, [redacted], but I had an old account that was settled in full on March 6, [redacted]. The collection agency assured me that they updated Duke Energy about this in March. However, your company is still showing a bill. I have been trying to arrange service since Monday. The collection agency resent my paid in full documents yesterday. Once I finished work, I tried to set up service again, but my account has not been updated yet. I really need this matter resolved by the time I finish work at 5 p.m.

There is a large oak tree close to my power pole by the road where my transformer is located. Its limbs have grown into the wiring of the transformer, which led to a power outage during a thunderstorm last year. Despite contacting a tree trimming service as instructed, the limbs were not properly cut, making the situation worse. I was considering trimming the limbs myself, but was warned by a neighbor about the danger of using a metal ladder close to power lines. It seems like a small task, but safety is paramount. I need guidance on how to have the limbs trimmed safely to avoid power outages in the future, especially because I plan to be away and fear losing food due to unexpected power failures.

On County Home Road in Conover, North Carolina, there is a significant cluster of trees causing strain on the wires. Surprisingly, they have not snapped yet. I have observed this for weeks and tried to contact the relevant authorities without success. As a concerned resident, I feel it's crucial to report this and prevent a potential power outage. The location is close to 11th Ave. NW, just before The Trails crossing. There are sun-faded signs in the area. Heading north on County Home Road, on the left side, there are numerous trees leaning heavily on the above-ground wires. It's a hazard that should be addressed promptly to avoid any disruptions.

I don't have a phone number in the US. My son and I have rented an apartment in Charlotte, NC for three months. He will move in on June 14th, and even though I signed the lease, I will not be joining him as I reside in Germany. We need to set up service with your company. My son is a student whose primary residence is here in Germany. I would like to pay for the Duke service and any deposits from Germany, preferably using a credit card. During a thunderstorm on June 22, [redacted], around 2:20 pm, lightning struck a tree on the school property next to ours. The tree fell onto our property, causing damage to our power lines and pole next to our house. Subsequently, your crews used a wheeled bucket vehicle to repair these damages, which unfortunately led to damage of our lawn curbing and lawn itself. I contacted the company a few months ago regarding a deposit that was not returned. Initially, I was informed there was a deposit on file, but due to multiple address changes, I could only recall two. After researching my records and contacting the company again with all the addresses, they stated there was no record of my deposit. I find this situation perplexing and confusing. The delay in follow-up was due to a medical emergency where I underwent surgery and was hospitalized for 10 weeks.

A bill of approximately $[redacted].00 was not paid on time by the due date. Consequently, the next bill included the past due amount, bringing the total to $[redacted]. Arrangements were made to pay this new total by 9-16-19 (Monday). However, due to unforeseen bank account problems, the required funds were not available on the 16th of the month, leading to a suspension of power due to non-payment. Duke Energy left a notification indicating that power would be reconnected once the entire power bill, along with a $29.00 reconnection fee, was paid in full. On 9-27-19, a payment of $[redacted].00 was made to Duke Energy to cover the power bill in full, including the reconnection fee. Despite the consumer following the provider's instructions to restore the service, Duke Energy has failed to fulfill their written commitment and restore the interrupted electricity service to the residence.

Hello,
I have an account number "[redacted]5" and my service address is "[redacted] Midpines Dr Apt: 49 Bldg: G, Cincinnati OH [redacted]". I have been trying to cancel my gas service since July [redacted] through multiple phone calls and in-person visits to the Cincinnati office. Despite assurances over the phone, I am still being charged for "Fixed Delivery Service Charge" and "Gas Delivery Riders". I would like a refund for these charges from July [redacted] until now as we have repeatedly requested to disconnect the service, which has not been done in a professional manner by Duke Energy.

I possess an indenture agreement that Duke Energy, as successors to surface rights purchased from Champion International, are obligated to honor regarding the loss of enjoyment and damages stemming from conditions tied to their property. I want to send this agreement to the appropriate person with the authority to address this urgent matter and hold the company accountable. Duke Energy should act in a manner that exceeds any possible course of action to alleviate the significant damage and distress affecting my family and potentially causing harm. I seek a mutually beneficial agreement with Duke Energy that acknowledges their interest in reaching a resolution that involves compensating for damages. This will allow me to develop and market a product for my father, demonstrating that I will be fine. I intend to alert OSHA about a tool my father invented that could enhance safety in auto mechanic repair shops globally. Duke Energy has the chance to contribute to improving safety for mechanics worldwide and minimizing injury claims. I look forward to Duke Energy reaching out to me via phone and mail to initiate the process of rectifying the harm endured over the past six and a half years.

I recently made significant improvements to my home's weatherization. As a result, I expect a substantial decrease in my future bills. I would like to request a review of my equal payment plan to potentially lower my monthly payments. Ultimately, I plan to gradually remove myself from the equal payment plan in the future. Thank you.

While working on my property near the road, clearing fallen trees, a frightening incident occurred. As Duke Energy workers were installing a new transformer across the street, a wire suddenly fell towards me. Thankfully, I reacted quickly and moved out of harm's way just in time. The wire hit the ground and started smoking and sparking due to an error by one of the workers using a chainsaw. The experience left me extremely shaken and upset, realizing how close I came to a serious injury. I was comforted by one of the workers who acknowledged the danger I narrowly avoided. After the incident, I couldn't shake off the fear and distress. I wonder if there is any recourse for the negligence displayed by Duke Energy in this situation.

I have an old CP&L meter with two black boxes controlling the load, but the wires were cut from the heat pumps. The cables under my house connected to the meter are hindering my moisture encapsulation project. I need assistance to remove the old meter, black boxes, and wires since they belong to your company, as they pose an electrocution or fire hazard if I attempt to remove them myself. The setup includes the old meter outside, two black boxes daisy-chained, and thin brown wires connected to junction boxes in the crawl space. Last week, a Duke Energy truck was performing work on a utility pole on my property located at [redacted] Woodbury Drive, Raleigh, NC [redacted]. I had to leave town, and upon returning home yesterday afternoon, I noticed two concerning issues. Firstly, a cluster of black wire was left on the ground under the utility pole. Secondly, a wire is hanging at a low height (about 4 feet from the ground) from the pole to my house. These problems did not exist before Duke Energy worked on the pole. The hanging wire poses a safety risk, being at a height that can be easily reached. With neighboring children, this situation is particularly worrying. I urge the company to address these matters promptly for safety reasons.

Regarding Simon Paul Whitaker at [redacted] W. Morehouse Ave in Mooresville [redacted], I need assistance with resolving an issue with Duke Power. The power account, number [redacted], was under my name for a rental property I leased to Mr. Aubrey Smith. After the tenants vacated the property in August [redacted], they settled the bill. Unfortunately, I was not aware of a delinquent payment on the account that affected my credit score negatively while I was overseas due to an accident. Upon my return in March [redacted], I promptly settled the outstanding amount with Duke Power and Helvey and Associates, the attorneys involved. I have documentation from the tenant to support the situation. I am seeking guidance on rectifying this issue on my credit report to improve my current qualifications, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
