I submitted a request a week ago to have the power turned on at my new residence by a specific day. Despite waiting all day, the service provider has not turned it on after 5 p.m. When I called, I was informed it would be done by 9 p.m. due to work orders needing completion. However, it's now 9:15 p.m. and my power is still not on. As a responsible customer who pays bills on time each month, I am disappointed by the delay, especially given that I have a small child and am pregnant. My name is Kimberly Ramey, and I reside at [redacted] West Drive in Carrabelle, FL.

My name is Kimberly Ramey, and my address is [redacted] West Drive, Carrabelle, FL. On Monday, I requested for my power to be cut on Friday at the mentioned address. By 5 p.m. on Friday, no one had shown up to turn it on. When I called, I was told someone would be out by 9 p.m. and that work orders needed to be completed. It's now 9:25 p.m., and my power is still not on. As a pregnant person with a small child, and all bills paid on time, this treatment of loyal customers is disappointing. I am eager for my power to be turned on as promised tonight.

I have experienced frequent power outages in my home at [redacted] 59th Ave N St. Petersburg over the past 5 years, always occurring during rainstorms and affecting about 30 residences. Following a lengthy 8-day power loss post-hurricane, despite some tree trimming efforts by the utility company, the issue persists. Recently, after another rainstorm, the power went out, leading to costly repairs for my A/C unit during a previous outage. I believe the lack of attention to our area, comprising mostly middle-income families, stems from our non-elite status compared to other neighborhoods receiving prompt service restoration. It's disheartening to witness the disparities in the response efforts by Duke Energy and their contractors in affluent versus moderate-income areas. Despite attempting to raise concerns post-hurricane without success, I'm determined to find a solution to prevent this recurring problem and seek advice on addressing this matter effectively.

My spouse and I are looking to have both our names on our Duke Energy account. When contacting Duke Energy Florida, the representatives we spoke to were courteous but unsure of the process. We even reached out to the Florida Department of Agriculture with no success. A friend mentioned visiting a Duke Energy building in the past to add their spouse's name, but the Florida representatives informed us that only employees have access to these locations. I appreciate any help with this as I believe many couples face the same issue. Our account dates back to [redacted].

Nearly two years ago, a new power pole was installed in front of my residence, but the old "dead" pole with tag number B329336, marked with a large white "X," remains untouched next to it. I reported this issue to Duke Energy around five months ago. Despite being assured it would be removed soon, the pole is still there. When can I anticipate its removal?

I'd like to address an issue regarding the power being shut off at our home in Florida for a new pole installation. We noticed that there has been no electricity usage recorded since we returned from Pennsylvania in April, despite leaving the a/c and dehumidifier on while we were away. Upon inspection by a friend, it was found that the main was still off, the old pole remained, there was damage to our a/c unit, junction boxes were on the ground, and mold smell and growth were present in the house, causing health concerns for my husband with COPD. I believe this falls under your responsibility, and I seek to escalate this matter to someone in authority for further discussion. Thank you, -G.B.

I have been waiting for two months to have a tree topped as the limbs have twice destroyed the street light, which is crucial for security. The light is finally working after two months, but despite a technician marking the tree for trimming, they have yet to come. I have trimmed some limbs myself in an effort to remove the tree, but one tall limb remains over wires. I was informed the tree would be addressed at the beginning of [redacted], but no action has been taken. Recently, Duke Energy and Spectrum replaced my neutral wire due to a meltdown. If I attempt to remove the tall limb, it may damage the wires. I experienced a power outage approximately two days ago, lasting around six hours.

A few years ago, I requested that Duke Energy disconnect a light pole on my property. They cut the connection, but continued to charge me about $10 per month for it. I noticed the charge on my bill recently and called Duke Energy to address the issue. Despite explaining the situation, a customer service representative just promised to remove the charge. To my surprise, they then sent a technician to disconnect the already disconnected light pole. The technician verified that it was indeed disconnected. Now, I received a bill for $7.02 for this unnecessary service call. I request that Duke Energy review my call records, eliminate the recent $7.02 charge, and provide a credit for the years they overcharged me $10 per month for the light that was disconnected long ago.

I need help with home wiring repair. The circuit for the master bedroom keeps tripping and has been doing this for over a month, staying on for only a short time. I contacted for repair on April 1 and was informed a local contractor would be notified, but I am still waiting for a call to schedule repairs and also for an old lamp at the entrance. Today I've spent hours trying to reach a person with no success. I was recently discharged from the hospital, am in my 80's, and desperately need light in my bedroom. Please assist.

We recently sold our property in Davenport, Florida, on June 14th transitioning from the UK. After our tenants left on May 4th, our home remained unoccupied for six weeks. DUKE ENERGY required a £[redacted] deposit, but we were stunned to receive a $[redacted].63 bill for just a 3-week period. Upon questioning, they denied any room for dispute. To settle, we promptly sent a check. Following the property sale on June 14th, we were hit with another bill demanding £[redacted].01, including the deduction of our initial deposit. Allegedly, the vacant property consumed $[redacted].64 worth of energy over six weeks. Our attempts to address this with emails 10 days ago have been met with silence. The account numbers involved are [redacted] and [redacted]. We're seeking assistance as this situation feels like a complete rip-off. Our realtor has confirmed that only essential appliances were left on, with regular weekly property checks.

The power in our rental was turned off after our tenants moved out. I contacted the utility company two days ago to transfer the account to my name to avoid a shut off. They confirmed it was processed. However, on Friday night, we discovered the water was shut off as well. Our water pump is inside the property, and we specifically requested it to remain connected. It's urgent to have it restored as this is not our error. We are in need of immediate reconnection and cannot wait until Monday. Please reach out to me urgently regarding this matter at [redacted].
