Recently, my receiver stopped working after 7 or 8 years, so I contacted customer support. Initially, a helpful male representative scheduled a technician to visit a month later, but I only needed a replacement receiver. After waiting three days without a shipping confirmation, I called again and spoke to a difficult-to-understand female representative who couldn't find any record of my previous call. She assured me she would send a new receiver. Two days later, there was still no update, so I called once more with the intention of canceling my DirecTV service. The new representative informed me of an appointment almost a month away, which was unacceptable to me. Frustrated, I expressed my desire to discontinue the service. Despite this, the representative promised to resolve the issue. I later received an email indicating a change in my service plan from $8.99 to $20.99 without my consent. I find it puzzling how a company can operate this way and suspect they may have adopted some unfavorable practices from AT&T.

I've been a loyal customer of DirectTV for over 20 years. Unfortunately, I have encountered a billing issue that I have been trying to resolve. The customer service representative, John, and their supervisor were unhelpful and disrespectful during my recent call. I received a recorded message claiming I owe $[redacted] to DirectTV, which is inaccurate since I have been making payments through Centurylink each month and can provide proof with my receipts. I recently requested to switch my billing to DirectTV to simplify the process, as I no longer use Centurylink. It seems that Centurylink has not been forwarding my payments to DirectTV, resulting in the $[redacted] past due charge that does not belong to me. I am frustrated because despite making regular payments, my bill has more than doubled. I have a payment scheduled for this Saturday to cover my past due balance, but the chat representative refused to discuss my billing issue until that payment is made. I find this customer service approach very frustrating and unhelpful.

Lately, I've had issues with my DirecTV as the mini-genie didn't respond to the new remote control. Even after setting up the new remote, the problem persisted. Running a test revealed that the mini-genie wasn't connected to the internet. I reconnected the internet on the main genie via wifi. After this, I encountered a performance issue code 87-[redacted]. Another test showed that the phone line wasn't connected, although I confirmed it was. I received error code 72-[redacted] and am unsure how to resolve the connectivity problems with the mini-genie.

I am inquiring about the end date of my Directv contract as I have been experiencing ongoing service issues since the installation. The disruption in our TV signal is frequent, even with minor cloud coverage, affecting primarily the Hallmark Channel. My elderly mother, who relies on television for entertainment, faces interruptions daily due to pixelation and signal loss characterized by digital noise. Furthermore, our internet speed is unbearably slow, with download speeds averaging 7 - 12 and uploads lingering below 1. Despite multiple technician visits, the problems persist without resolution. I have/had two accounts with Direct TV, one in Georgia and one at my permanent residence in Florida. Recently, I was hospitalized in Georgia and had to move in with family after my release. I decided to sell my Georgia home, so I contacted Direct TV to cancel my Georgia account number [redacted]8. During the call, I struggled for over an hour to explain that I couldn't transfer my service to my new address since Direct TV doesn't cover that location. Despite speaking with multiple representatives, I was assured I wouldn't face an early cancellation fee due to this issue since I still had an active account in Florida. However, I have now received a bill charging me $[redacted].00 for early cancellation, which contradicts what I was promised. I am disputing this charge and request an updated bill reflecting the correct balance, which I will promptly pay. Additionally, I have not received the return box for the equipment as previously arranged.

I encountered a message on my TV offering to run a diagnostic to enhance the picture quality. After agreeing, the picture zoomed in excessively, causing my closed captions, TV guide, and programming content to be cut off from the screen. I recently contacted customer service regarding an issue with my DirecTV app not working for nearly three months. Despite being promised a call back that never came, I inquired about getting a new remote. However, I was informed that I couldn't receive one due to a small past due balance, which I find unreasonable. I am very disappointed with this policy and would like to discuss this matter further with a representative. I recently switched from Dish Network to Direct TV because I wanted access to my regional sports channels. During the sign-up process, the representative quoted me a price of $70. However, after the installation was completed, I realized that the local sports channels were missing. Upon calling customer service, I was informed that in order to get them, I would have to pay $[redacted] instead. I recall specifically requesting the local sports channels during the initial conversation, and if the calls are indeed recorded, it should be verifiable. This sudden price increase feels like a bait-and-switch tactic, which is disappointing. Additionally, I believe having customer service representatives fluent in English would improve communication and potentially prevent such misunderstandings.

I use my Samsung Note 8 to watch “Live TV” on CNN.com. However, I keep getting a notice that my trial subscription has ended. I need DIRECTV to provide me with a permanent subscription to CNN Live TV. I am a loyal DIRECTV customer and pay over $[redacted] monthly. I enjoy both CNN and DIRECTV but need a lasting subscription to CNN Live TV. If not, I will consider other streaming options. I am disputing a DirecTV charge from [redacted]. My account number is [redacted]0. When I called DirecTV on 9/18/[redacted], they confirmed they would not charge me. They claim this $61.40 charge is from a Pay-Per-View event in [redacted], which is incorrect. Every time we ordered a PPV, we paid upfront using our credit card, and I always paid my bills on time. This charge from 13 years ago seems like a mistake on their part. I have a strong credit history, with a score of over [redacted]. It's frustrating that DirecTV cannot keep accurate records. I refuse to pay for something after so many years, especially when I do not have records that far back to prove them wrong. I will not return to DirecTV after being a loyal customer for 14 years. We are having issues with one of our DirectTV remotes. The original remote that came with the TV is not functioning properly - it does not change the channels. We have three TVs in total, each with their own remote. I have attempted to contact DirectTV for assistance but have encountered difficulties. When calling the numbers provided - 1-[redacted], I received a message indicating the number was not in service and to call that same number again. Currently, we are unable to get in touch with a customer service agent to address this problem. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I spoke with Jonathan Grigsby from the California Retention Department for 1 ½ hours on December 3rd regarding the erroneous billing. He acknowledged the mistake and wants to remove items 6, 7, 8, and 9 that were double billed. He also agreed to credit my account by canceling the incorrect charge of $67.46 due to the extensive time spent resolving the issue. Jonathan documented the details in his file, but when transferred to the Billing Department, I was unable to connect after spending hours trying. The billing department in the Philippines, handled by George with ID CB090T, couldn't access the notes left by Jonathan, and the call got disconnected during their unsuccessful attempt to contact you. Please help before I escalate this matter further.

My name is James E. and my account number is [redacted]25. I've been a customer for over 2 years and I want to cancel my account. Recently, I've been experiencing frequent shut-offs without any valid reason. On 11/5/19, I made a payment of $74.90 with confirmation number 6DG7CLARP0730T9, followed by another payment of $[redacted].05 on 11/22/19 with confirmation number [redacted]A. Even after requesting cancellation, a representative mistakenly reactivated my service against my wishes, leading to a total overpayment of $[redacted].15 within 2 weeks. Despite this, I still received a bill for $60, which I believe should be adjusted with my previous payments. I am willing to return the equipment if you send me the necessary boxes. My original contract was supposed to end in August, and I never agreed to an extension. I have consulted with a lawyer, and I urge you to cancel my account promptly to avoid further legal action. In my third month of TV service, my monthly rate shot up from $61.** to over $[redacted]! I expected a slight increase by the end of December [redacted] or my January payment, but the only extra charge on the current bill was a $15.** movie purchase. As a result, I paid $77.10 in full. I was hesitant to have DirecTV initially, especially now that it's under ATT, knowing about their questionable billing practices. Your overly complex invoicing designed to maximize revenue by overwhelming customers with charges, reminiscent of a 1990s revenue strategy, is not acceptable. As a visually impaired customer, I cannot endure such exploitation for profit. Please disconnect my service after 12/09/[redacted]. You should be ashamed of your predatory actions. I recently sent an email about our bill constantly increasing for the same package we've had for a decade. We were assured it would never surpass $[redacted], then $[redacted], and now it's $[redacted] (with just one $5 movie added). I haven't received any response and I'm disappointed. Also, I am deeply troubled by AT&T disclosing private information under an unchallenged subpoena during the Congressional investigation led by Mr. Schiff. I'm appalled that the company would release private data so easily. All AT&T clients should be aware that this information was requested under subpoena, but there seems to be no evidence that AT&T contested the subpoena in court to confirm its legality. I value privacy, mine and my neighbors', more than this. This situation, along with the escalating bill, gives me a second reason to consider canceling AT&T/DirectTv. As a reminder, if anyone from the company reads this, I've been a loyal customer for ten years and have always paid on time.

This is my eighth call regarding this issue. The customer service experience I have had is by far the worst I have ever encountered. On my call on 11/25, I was informed by a representative that I would receive a prepaid Visa card as a refund for the overcharge. It has been two weeks since that promise was made, and I have not received the card yet. I ceased using your service on August 23, and even though I canceled it, I was still charged for September and October at $80.99 each month. Please note that my correct address is [redacted] W. Main, Ferris, Carthage, Il. [redacted]. The old address listed as [redacted] Cherry is inaccurate. I am eager to have this matter promptly resolved and receive my prepaid Visa card.

I planned to make a payment in December but am unable to do so presently. I will settle the account in full during the first week of January. I appreciate your understanding and the service I have received over the years. It's disheartening that despite my loyalty, I couldn't receive assistance during my difficult time. My income is below $21,[redacted] annually due to disability. It would have been appreciated to have some compassion extended considering the circumstances. Regardless, I still value Direct TV's service and wish they had not joined the AT&T family. Your prompt payment is necessary to avoid automatic credit card charges. I would like to escalate my concern to speak with a supervisor regarding the poor service I have received from Directv. I have taken two days off work for an installation of a Genie 2, but it has been canceled both times. The order has been pending for almost a month. The upgrade process was also frustrating as the representative I spoke to seemed uninformed about the company and its services. I am considering switching back to Dish due to their superior DVR and nearly half the price compared to what I am currently paying with Directv.
