I want to provide some feedback regarding the recent increase in ads on the site. My husband and I have been loyal users of your services since the beginning. However, we've noticed a surge in ads for products like Weed, Coke, Cartridges, etc., which seems excessive and misleading. Many ads display images that do not match the advertised product, raising concerns about fraudulent advertising tactics. This aggressive approach to advertising is becoming overwhelming, making it more appealing to explore alternative platforms than continue using CL. Your platform has always been known for its reliability, so I urge you to address this issue. We are at risk of losing honest and genuine buyers and sellers who may seek alternative sites due to these excessive and inappropriate ads. Please consider regulating these ads to specific categories such as Health or Recreation to maintain a more transparent advertising environment. Thank you for addressing this concern.

I was looking for a home rental, and the advertiser changed their name multiple times, offering various false reasons for leaving their home and requesting money from me. They claimed to be missionaries, then switched to saying they were engineers who wouldn't be back for 4 or 5 years. They sent me a fraudulent contract, and the price they set for the home was unreasonably low for the neighborhood. Please help prevent others from falling victim to this scam. The phone number associated with their Craigslist account is possibly: [redacted]. If this is inaccurate, you can search for the posting under housing in Charlottesville, VA. The listing address is [redacted] Lewis Mountain Rd, with an open house on January 29th from 2-4 pm. I have reported this to Legal Aid in Charlottesville, VA, who confirmed it as a common scam they receive reports about frequently.
Thank you,
John K

I am experiencing difficulty posting on Craigslist recently. Despite having posted before, my ads are being flagged and removed. I follow the guidelines as I do not use inappropriate language or sell animals. Based on your policies, my service ad is valid, but it keeps getting removed. There are other postings about selling dogs and breeding animals that are allowed. Could you clarify the reason for the removal of my post with Posting ID # [redacted], "Need Help With the Pack? Canine Specialist - Affordable Results!" in the pets section? I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. I'm providing a different email in this form as the one linked to my post is solely for my services and a spam-free inbox. I also decline any future correspondence from GetHuman.com or its affiliates unless related to this matter. Thank you.

I would like to report that our rental property is being fraudulently listed on a website under my name. The scammer is pretending to be the landlord, asking for $[redacted] monthly rent and a $[redacted] security deposit. We request the immediate removal of this misleading listing, as it is tricking people into thinking there is a legitimate lease agreement in place and causing them to transfer money to a false account. This was brought to our attention when someone tried to make a payment and realized the account name did not match ours. For more information or evidence, please reach out to me. Here is the link to the fraudulent listing: [redacted].

I fell victim to a scam by someone who posted a fake apartment listing on Craigslist. The address provided was [redacted] Weequahic Ave apt [redacted]-1, with the post ID number [redacted], created on March 17, [redacted]. The contact person named Mike could be reached at [redacted]. My partner, A.H., and I (D.P.) were promised the apartment and asked to complete an application. After being approved, we were instructed to obtain a money order and deposit it into a specific Chase bank account under the name Charles Patrick, with the account and routing numbers given by the scammer. We were told various excuses for the delay in receiving the keys and lease, including a fake story about a COVID-19 case in the office. The scammer stopped responding to messages after we paid $[redacted] expecting an apartment that does not exist. We are seeking justice and hope the scammer is held accountable for their actions.

Thank you for your response regarding the item. My husband and I are interested in making the purchase. Due to our busy schedule with moving and our daughter's wedding, we are unable to meet in person. The price and condition of the item listed on Craigslist are acceptable to us. My husband will be sending a Cashier's Check via FedEx, and once it clears your bank, we can arrange for pick up. I will add an extra $50 to the asking price to reserve it for us. Please provide the following information for the check to be sent promptly:
- Name for the Check
- Overnight Address
- Cell Phone Number
- Asking Price
Please acknowledge the receipt of this email and provide the necessary details for the payment.
Thank you and stay safe.

Hello, my name is Aubrey. I recently adopted a Labrador puppy. While browsing Craigslist, I came across another ad for sick Labs from the same breeder. Unfortunately, all those dogs have been euthanized, and my puppy is currently in ICU. The breeder knowingly sold myself and other families sick puppies. We lack detailed information about her. I believe action should be taken to prevent others from experiencing this pain and to ensure that dogs are not deprived of proper care.

I hired Swift Remodeling for some handyman work at my place. Initially, I paid a $[redacted] deposit. However, the work done was subpar. The installation of a kitchen faucet took over 4 hours, and installing a tile backsplash took even longer with no progress. When I raised concerns, the handyman became rude, prompting me to ask them to leave. I requested half of my deposit back, but they have been unresponsive to my messages and calls. Swift Remodeling is unreliable and deceitful, as confirmed by others in the industry. Their tracking number is [redacted], and they frequently advertise on Craigslist in Chattanooga. It’s essential to warn others about their unprofessionalism and prevent them from victimizing more people. I plan to pursue legal action to reclaim my funds and ensure they don’t continue their fraudulent practices unchecked through Craigslist ads. Let's work together to stop this scammer and protect others.

I am selling a white [redacted] Chevrolet Tahoe for $1,[redacted]. If you contact Linda at [redacted], she will provide you with another email, [redacted], to communicate further. Linda will send you more information about the truck and offer to ship it through eBay. They will handle the shipping, but you need to make a payment of $[redacted] each using gift cards. Contact [redacted] for payment verification, and they will provide you with a phone number ([redacted]) and an order number (452134GS124). When you call to verify the order, only one person will answer. Afterwards, they will ask you to deposit the eBay gift card pin numbers to the email provided.

I came across a listing on Craigslist for a black [redacted] John Deere Gator UTV priced at $[redacted]. After contacting the seller, they claimed to be selling it at a discounted price due to their husband's passing. They assured me the UTV was in a warehouse ready for shipment through eBay. Upon following their instructions, I used eBay cards to send payment. However, I was asked for additional funds for insurance and customs, totaling $[redacted]. Realizing it was a scam, I attempted to contact the seller without success. The Craigslist ad keeps reappearing in different locations like Rickets Glen, Hazleton, Allentown, and Annapolis, featuring the same email [redacted] I hope to warn others and recover the $[redacted]. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you. Damon Perry

My cousin, Veronica R. Scott, has posted multiple ads using my phone number, name, and Facebook information, including details of my profile on Facebook. Her phone number is [redacted], and my phone number is +[redacted]6, which she included in all the ads. She also created an account using my phone number, full name, and Facebook details for your misguided customers. Kindly remove these ads from your site. I appreciate your prompt attention before I take legal action against her, your site, and pursue legal action. Thank you for your cooperation.

I reluctantly sold a ring from my ex-fiancé to a guy recently. I copied the description from when I bought it. He came over but didn't even want to inspect it, despite another potential buyer checking it. I declined a deposit hold since the current buyer was interested, and even gave a $[redacted] discount. Now, he claims the ring, stamped 14k with a blue white sapphire, is fake based on a jeweler's opinion. He refuses to take his money back and insists on keeping the ring. As a result, he's threatening me with felony charges and boasting about his family's connections. My roommate explained that I only wanted my ex to take the ring back, but he still won't cooperate. Any advice on what I should do in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

I recently tried to purchase a puppy on Craigslist and paid $[redacted] for the rehoming fee and delivery. The seller then requested an additional $[redacted], which my cash app denied for security reasons. The delivery site provided seemed unprofessional, as their phone number was invalid, making it impossible to contact them directly. They asked me to send the extra money to the same cash app account, which raised suspicions. The sellers are insisting I send the money quickly and have made threats regarding abandoning the pet. I verified with the airports they mentioned that there is no such shipment. This is distressing, especially since my family recently lost our dog of 15 years. The contact details given are 1-[redacted] and [redacted] regarding a golden doodle puppy advertised as being from Cleveland, OH, but actually located in Fresno, CA. The seller, using the name James Brown, directed me to [redacted], which appeared to be a fake delivery service with no valid contact information.

I listed bedroom furniture for sale on May 31, [redacted]. Someone named Kelly A. contacted me via Craig's List email, asking for my phone number. After exchanging messages, the person sent a check for $[redacted]; $[redacted] for the furniture, $50 extra, and $[redacted] for the mover. Upon trying to cash the check on June 4th, I was alerted by the bank that it was a scam and advised to inform Craig's List. I messaged the buyer about the situation, offering to return the check, but received no response on where to send it. I believe this is a fraudulent scheme involving a counterfeit cashiers check and wish for the fraud department to look into it to prevent others from falling victim.

Hello, my name is Jim Innella. I regularly use Craigslist for buying and selling items. Last August [redacted], I bought a car in the Winston Salem, NC area. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced the paperwork and the contact details of the person who sold me the car. I am wondering if there is any way to retrieve the information that was included in the ad for the [redacted] Fiat Spider I purchased, priced between $[redacted] and $[redacted]. I understand this may be a difficult request, but I would be grateful for any assistance you can provide as soon as possible. Thank you, Jim.

I previously raised a concern about the process of verifying my ad authenticity on Craigslist. Due to safety reasons, I chose not to respond to every email inquiring about my ad. Subsequently, my post was flagged, and despite my complaint to Craigslist, the customer service representative re-posted my ad with a different vehicle. Now, I am flooded with emails from various individuals who have access to my contact information. I have removed my account and the post on Craigslist; however, the ad for a [redacted] Cherokee in Jacksonville still appears under my name. I need assistance in having this misleading ad removed promptly. Thank you.

I have attempted to post my advertisement multiple times and even edited the existing one instead of creating a new one. However, each time I post, it gets deleted or flagged after being up for only part of the day. The ad is for DVDs, and I am unsure why this keeps happening. Here is a list of the DVDs I am selling for $1 each. All movies were in working condition when last used:
[Redacted]
Please note that a few movies may be missing from the list as I have recently sold some. The DVDs do not come with original cases or paperwork, and I only accept cash payments. Pick up is in Port Charlotte, and all sales are final.

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Eric Stampley, and I reside in Chicago. I own the residential property located at [redacted] S. Rhodes, Chicago, IL [redacted], which was listed for sale on June 11, [redacted].
On the same day my property was listed, a fraudulent Craigslist rental ad with identical details was posted. A concerned individual searching for a rental property came across the fake ad. After researching the address, they discovered the property was actually for sale on Redfin.
The individual contacted my real estate agent, who informed me of the situation. I am now reaching out to Craigslist to report this scam where someone is deceiving users by using my property address to fraudulently collect money under the guise of providing housing.
I kindly request the immediate removal of the false posting. Please acknowledge this email and let me know if further information is needed to address this issue promptly.
Thank you,
Eric Stampley

Every time I attempt to post a legitimate ad here, it gets flagged and removed within minutes. This is incredibly frustrating. The current ad I posted seeking a keyboardist for a band has been targeted despite its authenticity. It seems unfair that someone can remove my post at will without any accountability. This has happened around 20 times now, and I suspect it might be due to personal reasons or competition. It's disheartening that there's no recourse for me to address this issue. I urge whoever is responsible for flagging my posts to stop and explain their actions. It's important to have a fair and regulated system in place to avoid such incidents. I will reach out to Craigslist support to address this ongoing problem.
