I have been a subscriber to Cooks Illustrated for a long time, and last year I gifted a subscription to a friend. After returning from vacation, I received a notice stating the gift subscription would auto-renew with no clear instructions on how to cancel. I found this practice frustrating and have since canceled my subscription. However, it was not clear if the gift subscription was also canceled during the process. I live in Thailand, and mail is forwarded to me in a remote manner for timely review. Due to the time difference, contacting customer service is inconvenient. You can reach me via email at [redacted], voice mail at my US number [redacted], or through my Thai mobile number [redacted]. I would appreciate confirmation via any of these methods that both my subscription and the gift subscription renewal have been canceled. My Cooks Illustrated account number is [redacted]. Thank you.

On July 21, [redacted], I purchased a gift subscription for my daughter, and subsequently cancelled my own subscription with account number [redacted]. Despite my efforts to cancel online and sending a cancellation letter, I have received two additional magazines and invoice notices. I wish to clarify that my personal subscription is ended while the gift subscription remains active. Kindly assist in confirming the cancellation of my subscription and addressing the continued invoices. Thank you.

I received two books from you by mistake. I called to explain that I did not request them and do not feel obliged to go out of my way to rectify this error. I have already dealt with this issue before, and it is frustrating that my requests are not being heard. I may choose to keep the unsolicited gifts you sent me. Please refrain from sending me anything unless I specifically ask for it. I have already made it clear that I do not want to receive any more items from your company. I hope this can be resolved amicably.

I have received several invoices for a COOKS ILLUSTRATED MAGAZINE order that I did not make. I never use the name 'Gram Gilman' when placing orders. If my grandson renewed the subscription, he should be responsible for the payment. I did not make any orders for 2[redacted]. Here is an additional detail to assist you in rectifying this error: CID[redacted]5. Thank you for addressing this issue. The email provided below belongs to my daughter, please direct any responses to this email.

I really enjoy the recipes and magazines from Cook's Illustrated because they explain the reasons behind different recipes. However, I am upset about the company's business practices, which I find to be predatory and frustrating to deal with. I thought I had cancelled my subscription, but was still charged $42 on my Am Ex for a website subscription. I appreciate your website providing the [redacted] number to assist with these issues. I also disliked that they started segregating recipes into specialized subscriptions, requiring additional payments for recipes I used to have access to. Their automatic renewals, book shipments, and complicated cancellation process felt unfair to members. I believe they should prioritize customer service over profits and reconsider their approach. Thank you for your assistance.
