I am originally from Spain and resided in Canada from [redacted] to [redacted]. During most of this period, I faced challenges regarding my status in the country. Towards the end, I held a temporary work permit as my mother pursued her own status. Unfortunately, my family experienced deportation due to the outcome of my mother's case. Currently, I am looking to return to Canada for a short visit to stay with a friend and reconnect with loved ones. I was a minor when initially brought into Canada but was 20 at the time of deportation. Can someone guide me on the necessary steps to ensure a smooth border crossing?

Upon entering Canada as a landed immigrant, my landing record does not include some of my given names. I have been informed that this is due to limited print space on the form; however, all my names are in the computer system. I am concerned about the inconsistency between the physical document and the digital records. As I will be applying for citizenship and the issued document reflects the incomplete names, I wish to rectify this discrepancy. It is crucial that my full name is accurately reflected in the official records, especially on important documents like the citizenship certificate. I believe that officials at the airport should have entered my full name as per my entry passport, and I would appreciate assistance in correcting this issue promptly.

Hello, I'm Sahar Alinia, an international master's student at Concordia University nearing completion. I am planning to finish my studies by May and had intended to apply for permanent residency through PEQ. However, I recently received a PhD admission offer from McGill for September. I have heard that when you apply for permanent residency, you are not able to continue your studies until becoming a permanent resident. I am reaching out to seek guidance on the best approach to continue my education while also pursuing permanent residency. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

On September 8, [redacted], my partner and I applied for a work permit along with a sponsorship application (Common Law/Conjugal Partner). We forgot to include the $[redacted].00 fee for the Open work permit initially, causing the work permit application to be returned in December. After paying the extra fee, we resubmitted the application, which was received on December 30, [redacted]. Despite tracking the delivery online, I have not received any update from CIC to date. I am facing job opportunities but cannot accept them due to the absence of a work permit. I am feeling frustrated and unsure of how to address this issue independently. Can anyone offer guidance or assistance?

I am a Canadian citizen who applied for a visa for my husband, a citizen of Pakistan, whom I married in March of [redacted]. Both he and I were previously married, which was noted in the immigration petition. The issue arises from my husband having married his ex-wife in [redacted], divorcing her under Islamic law seven months later without the divorce being officially recorded in Pakistan. When asked to provide a divorce decree for Canadian immigration, he couldn't provide one. Eventually, local authorities issued him a divorce decree dated January [redacted]. However, Canadian immigration now claims he doesn't qualify as my spouse since technically he was still married to his first wife when we married. We are given 30 days to clarify this situation. We have a son who is a Canadian citizen by birth, and I seek guidance on how to proceed in this matter.

My fiancé and I are getting married this summer in Canada. He is a Canadian citizen, and I am Guatemalan with just a tourist visa. After our wedding, I plan to apply for Canadian citizenship. I am unsure about the appropriate application process for this. Additionally, I would like to inquire if I will receive a work permit when I apply in Canada so I can work while my application is being processed.

I am a 15-year-old girl, and my family and I attempted to apply for refugee citizenship but were denied. We are now focusing on obtaining a work citizenship. I am feeling extremely depressed because I had to leave Canada. I am struggling with very dark thoughts, crying every night, and finding it hard to cope. I just want to go back to Canada as soon as possible. I am in desperate need of help to return because I cannot continue living like this.

I have heard that many individuals are considering moving to Canada due to the current situation in the United States with Donald Trump. I and my family of three are also contemplating relocating to Canada for safety concerns, especially for my young daughter and her mother. As a hard-working 21-year-old Hispanic parent, I have strived to create a secure environment for my family. It is disheartening to feel the need to make such a decision. If you have any advice or information on moving to Canada, please reach out to me at [redacted] Thank you and blessings to you.

I am concerned as I have not received any acknowledgment of my application to replace my Canadian Citizenship certificate. I no longer use my former surname, Macmillan, and I wish to change it to my maiden name, Buchanan. On 21 March [redacted], I mailed my original plastic Citizenship Card, all necessary documentation, photograph, and payment receipt to the address in Sydney, Nova Scotia from the United States. It is crucial to update my Citizenship name as I lost both my Canadian Passport and U.S. Permanent Resident Green Card, needing proof of citizenship to replace my Canadian Passport. How can I confirm receipt of my application at the Case Processing Center? The Official Receipt for my $75 payment is No. R[redacted]14, and I currently reside in the United States with a Temporary I-[redacted] Card.

I am Alison B. and I am worried that my application to replace my Canadian Citizenship certificate has not been acknowledged. I recently sent all the necessary documents to update my citizenship name from Macmillan to Buchanan, as shown on my most recent passport, by regular mail to the address in Sydney, Nova Scotia. My nephew was born in Canada and raised by my parents until they passed away. After their deaths, my sister, his birth mother, took him to the United States and left him with strangers to raise him. Now, as an adult with children, he is using a false name, believing he was adopted by his caregiver, only to find out there was no formal adoption. As the only surviving Canadian relative, I possess his original birth certificate. I am eager to help him and his family resolve this complex situation. I urgently seek a face-to-face meeting to address the issues created by my sister's actions, which have led to my nephew living in limbo under a false identity. Despite holding Canadian documentation, he lives as a "nobody" due to this lack of legal recognition. He is aware of my efforts on his behalf but is hesitant to take action that could affect his family.

I am reaching out about a concerning situation involving my sister, a Ghanaian married to a Canadian. She has four children, aged 10, 8, 5, and a one-month-old baby boy. Three of the children have Canadian citizenship, and she is in the process of obtaining citizenship for the baby. Due to financial instability and mistreatment by the father, she is looking to travel to Canada with her children for safety. I am sharing this on her behalf as she fears suspicion from her husband. Any assistance you can provide to help her navigate this difficult situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I submitted my application for a Canadian Citizenship Certificate to Citizenship and Immigration Canada on June 20, [redacted]. Although processing began on July 19, [redacted], I have not received a determination yet. I have tried contacting the Case Processing Center at Proof of Citizenship in Sidney, NS, but my letters from Feb. 3, [redacted], and April 3, [redacted], have gone unanswered. Unfortunately, the website does not provide a working telephone number for inquiries from the US. Additionally, I did not receive the July 5, [redacted] correspondence acknowledging my application, so I lack a UCI number, hindering my ability to use the IRCC webform. I am uncertain of my application's status and when to expect a decision. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Theodore M. I have been trying to download a 'document checklist' to renew my Permanent Resident Card for two days using multiple browsers and laptops with no success. I can download the application and photo instructions but not the checklist. When I click to download the checklist, I get a PDF message that suggests my viewer may not be able to display the document. How can I successfully obtain the checklist needed to complete my card renewal application? JH

Dear Sir or Madam, I have been a Permanent Resident in Canada since September 18, [redacted]. Travel requirements changed after 9/11, and now all Permanent Residents need a photo ID card renewable every 5 years. I obtained the renewal form but faced difficulties with the $50 payment on the Canadian government website. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn't access the payment page due to a time-out error. As a 76-year-old female without transportation, this has been very frustrating. Local offices were unable to help, mentioning the need for an appointment without providing a contact number. I came across an alternative site, 'immigration.ca', offering assistance for a fee, but it's not officially affiliated with the government, making me hesitant. Any guidance or support you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Kindly consider forwarding this matter to the local MPP in Mississauga for assistance with resolving the payment issue and completing the renewal process. Sincerely, Barbara J. D.

I need to return to the Dominican Republic to reunite with my family after serving time in a Canadian prison for fraud. I've submitted all the necessary paperwork to the Dominican government, but they claim that Canada is preventing my return. I got a new passport from Canada on February 18, [redacted], No. AE418615. I need to verify if Canada is indeed blocking my return and if possible, obtain documentation to prove otherwise. I am willing to provide more details if needed. Thank you, Richard D. Johnston

I immigrated to Canada with my parents in [redacted]. They obtained their Canadian Citizenship, and as a minor, I was included under their status. I possessed a citizenship card, certificate, and a Canadian passport. Unfortunately, due to a difficult marriage, I had to leave abruptly with minimal belongings. My spouse disposed of all my identification documents, including my citizenship papers. Despite multiple attempts to retrieve them, they remained inaccessible. Currently, I only have my driver's license and an outdated red and white health card. I am unable to obtain a new health card without the necessary documents. I seek guidance on how to proceed with applying for proof of citizenship. I have my parents' citizenship certificates, assuming my status was derived from theirs. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good morning, I am inquiring about my immigration status in Canada. I initially held a post-graduation open permit, which has since expired, and I now possess a work permit. I currently work as a continuing care assistant in Nova Scotia without a CCA certificate due to my nursing background from my home country. The Department of Health now mandates that CCAs acquire a certificate and complete a specific course at an institution. My post-grad permit prohibits me from enrolling in any institution, which poses a challenge as I am in the process of applying for permanent residency. If I cannot take the required course due to this restriction and the Department of Health prevents me from working, it could impact my application. Thank you for your time.

I emigrated with my family, including my husband and four children, to Canada from the UK in [redacted]. Now, my 87-year-old mother is in the UK, and her husband is seriously ill. If he passes away, we want her to live with us in Canada since I am her only child and there's no one else to care for her. She is in good health and has sufficient financial means. We aim to bring her quickly after his passing as she cannot manage alone for long. Can she initially come on a visitor visa for six months and then apply to stay? We are willing to support her, and she will have private health insurance. Any advice is appreciated.

I would appreciate speaking with a live immigration official regarding my application for confirmation of citizenship. Unfortunately, I am facing challenges obtaining a photo ID as I do not have a current driver's license. This lack of identification is hindering me from securing essential documents like a health card or a passport. Being unable to prove my citizenship is causing difficulties with my official documentation and travel plans. I have supporting documents showing my father's military service and our family's history of migration to Canada, but without a valid photo ID, I am stuck in a difficult situation. Any assistance or guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
