CBP is issuing a warning about fraudulent phone calls targeting people across the country. Scammers employ various tactics, like claiming a package with drugs and money addressed to the recipient was intercepted, or threatening arrest unless personal information is given in exchange for Bitcoin. It's important to note that CBP and the Department of Homeland Security do not request money over the phone, including Bitcoin or gift cards.

I have been struggling for days to take advantage of Citi's offer to buy from Amazon and pay in monthly installments for up to 12 months with no interest. The offer did not appear during checkout on Amazon's website despite my numerous attempts. I reached out to Citi and Amazon customer service multiple times. I am having trouble accessing my Citi credit card account through their website across multiple browsers. The customer service experience has been extremely poor, with long wait times on multiple calls and even getting disconnected after a 38-minute hold. I've encountered an issue with Citi's policy on their Shell card and potentially other cards. Citi cancels cards if they remain unused for 12 months, regardless of a perfect payment history or high credit score. This cancellation can decrease your credit score by lowering your total available credit. The process of reactivation is inconvenient as Citi requires re-application, resulting in another hard credit inquiry. The dismissive attitude of the management team is concerning, leaving a negative impression. If this is how loyal customers are treated, I am considering closing all my Citi accounts, including affiliates, checking and savings accounts, and platinum cards. The lack of customer care and professionalism displayed by the management team is disappointing and unacceptable.

I had a frustrating experience with your customer service. Yesterday, I called after receiving a message, but after many failed attempts due to disconnections and poor connections, I finally spoke to someone in the fraud department. Due to driving, I couldn't provide detailed information but was offered the option to call back later or submit it via email, which I never received.
Today, after several calls and disconnections, I managed to speak with a representative. After a struggle, I requested to speak to a supervisor and eventually reached the fraud department after more waiting.
I understand cost-saving measures, but the poor connections and language barriers with overseas representatives make it difficult for customers like me who have limited time to spend on such calls.

Dealing with call centers proved frustrating as the more time spent on the phone, the less likely issues were resolved, and there was no tangible proof of discussions. I believe that if customers collectively express dissatisfaction and close their accounts, then banks like Citibank will be compelled to offer better communication options. Unfortunately, my recent experience on the Citibank website was futile – various features were dysfunctional such as viewing details, cash rewards, chatting, and sending messages. The accessible phone number led me to incorrect support, and I struggled to find an email contact. This lack of effective communication channels at Citibank has made seeking assistance a time-consuming and frustrating ordeal.
