I bought a $24.99 top from Catos, which had a flaw on the side. The sales associate reassured me it could be fixed and offered 10% off, to which I agreed. However, upon consulting with my neighbor who is a seamstress, she confirmed it couldn't be fixed. When I tried to exchange it for something of equal value, I was informed that since I received a discount, I couldn't exchange it. Although I appreciate Cato's styles and prices and understand their policies, I believe they should have explained this clearly at the time of purchase. Thank you for listening to my feedback.

I have been working at Cato in Jerseyville, IL since August. We are now under our third manager. I am concerned about the behavior of the district manager, Michelle Meyer. For instance, our new manager had to stay late one evening to help close the store, but was later reprimanded by Ms. Meyer. Threats about sales goals and possible write-ups are constantly looming over us. We have been informed that not meeting weekly sales targets of $[redacted] will lead to disciplinary action. Currently, we are understaffed and are now being instructed to cut payroll by 10 hours per week.
As a retired registered nurse with a bachelor's degree, I have held authoritative positions and understand the importance of respectful treatment in the workplace. Unfortunately, this job is becoming demoralizing. Even our customers are noticing the high turnover. Another store managed by Ms. Meyer recently experienced a mass departure of employees. It feels like the corporate office has overlooked our situation. Our customers appreciate our service and kindness, and I believe we deserve better. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm Shayla Allen. I recently started at location [redacted] in Amarillo, TX with Annabelle as GM. Despite being scheduled for 31 hours, my times for the week were manually inputted before I even worked them. Instructions indicated not to clock in Saturday. When correcting my timecard due to a mistake by the first assistant, it put the store over hours. The manager got upset and mentioned contacting payroll to rectify the times. Without access to my clock in/out slips, I lack evidence of my actual hours. I request an investigation to resolve this matter promptly. If the manager alters employee times to fit the budget, I am reconsidering my employment with the company. However, I am eager to continue as a Cato Assistant Manager if we can address and resolve this issue.

I am disappointed by the experience at one of your Cato stores on Galleria Blvd. I've shopped in various Cato stores in different locations and have always requested hangers with my purchases for over $[redacted] made in a month. The manager, Margaret, mentioned that hangers were only available for nice dresses, which surprised me. Despite explaining my usual experience of receiving hangers at other Cato stores and even other retailers, her response was dismissive. When I suggested involving Corporation, her demeanor changed to a condescending tone. Feeling disrespected, I decided to return all my purchases. This kind of treatment from a store manager was a first for me and seemed different from the service I've received at other Cato stores over the years. I hope this feedback sheds light on the situation I encountered at the Galleria Blvd store.

I had a disappointing experience at the store recently. The new manager, Bethany, didn't greet or offer help to black customers until prompted. She admitted her lack of assistance and revealed her role as a manager for Cato. This treatment made me reconsider shopping at your store in the future. I value equal treatment for all customers. The previous staff, including Mrs. Debra, Mrs. Mashone, and Emily, were great at assisting with product choices. It's important to address these issues promptly, as I will no longer support the store until I receive a professional explanation. Thank you.

I visited the Cato store in Bessemer Alabama, where I am a regular shopper. I encountered an issue due to my health conditions - asthma and a heart condition - as the store was hot and I struggled to breathe with the mask on. Despite having a doctor's note exempting me from wearing a mask, the store manager confronted me about it. I work in healthcare and undergo frequent testing, so I am well aware of the guidelines. The manager's behavior was disrespectful, and I believe better customer service is essential. I request a follow-up call at [redacted].

On March 30, [redacted], I received a refund to my debit card for my recent purchase. I was informed it would take up to 10 days to process. After waiting for the specified period, I made several follow-up calls but was repeatedly asked to wait longer. Eventually, a manager promised to look into the issue, but I have yet to receive an update or my refund. The lack of communication and delay in resolving this matter is disappointing. As a loyal customer, I value your store, but this experience has left me frustrated and confused.

Hello, I am interested in exploring the possibility of opening a clothing store in the Lexington, VA area. Currently, there are no clothing stores in the vicinity, and the closest options are about 45 minutes away. This situation can be quite inconvenient, especially during emergencies or when a quick shopping trip is needed. I frequently shop at Cato in Covington, VA, and Madison Heights, VA, but having a store closer to home would be beneficial. Can someone please investigate the opportunity for a clothing store in this area? Thank you.

I am lodging a complaint about the store in Madisonville, KY on behalf of the two current employees. It is concerning that these two ladies are expected to work alone from opening to closing time with no breaks or lunches. This is unacceptable. I am considering contacting the labor relations board regarding this issue. I am aware of this situation because one of the employees is my mother. I have advised her to leave the position. It seems that the District Manager is more focused on criticizing the employees rather than providing assistance or solutions. I am worried about my mother, who is 76 years old and unable to endure these working conditions. As a manager myself, I know that this arrangement goes against labor laws. I would appreciate any help in addressing this matter before taking further action.

I had a disappointing experience at the Delaware Ohio store due to the poor customer service. Upon entering, I encountered a store employee, an older lady with gray hair, smoking outside the entrance which made it unpleasant to walk through her cigarette smoke. Even after she came back in, the smell lingered and was quite strong. Throughout my visit, I felt unwelcome and observed the employees whispering about me, which made me uncomfortable. Their unfriendly behavior was unexpected in a retail setting. Despite my efforts to shop, I did not receive any assistance or friendly gestures. As someone who specifically seeks out Cato stores for their clothing, this experience was disheartening, especially after driving forty-five minutes to reach this location. I believe that a simple apology for the poor treatment and inconvenience would be appropriate in this situation.

I visited the Cato store in Ada, Oklahoma, this evening to buy an outfit for my granddaughter's shower tomorrow. We're visiting from out of town, and our hotel is conveniently located across the street from the shopping center where this Cato store is situated. We were unavoidably delayed at the restaurant. After checking the opening and closing hours online, which indicated that they close at 8:00 PM, I entered the store at 7:30 PM. However, upon entering, a sales associate immediately informed me that they were closing in 5 minutes, which was at 7:35 PM. Feeling rushed, another associate locked the door, and I had to request to be let out when I left at 7:40 PM. As someone with extensive experience in retail, this type of customer service is truly disappointing, and I won't be returning to shop there again.

Today, I visited the Apache Junction store, and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with the customer service. I've been a customer there for six years, and the way I was treated this time was unacceptable. When I inquired about a possible discount on a pair of white pants, one associate mentioned it could be considered due to them being dirty. Another employee then intervened and mentioned firmly that it was against the corporate policy to discount soiled items. She also mentioned the risk of losing her job and needing to pay rent. I typically shop here for my clothing needs in Arizona and even bring items back to Canada. The lack of professionalism and helpfulness was surprising to me as I am used to better service. I ended up not purchasing the items I selected due to this encounter. This experience has made me reconsider whether CATO will remain my preferred store for myself and my friends.

I had multiple bad experiences at your AliGers Cato store. I witnessed the store manager cursing out one of her employees, which was very upsetting. This kind of behavior is unacceptable for a manager or boss. Additionally, I observed a young lady working alone last night, which is concerning for safety reasons, especially during the holiday season. This is not an isolated incident; the General store manager has a history of mistreating employees, including cursing at them and insulting them. As a loyal customer, I appreciate Cato but feel strongly that action needs to be taken to address these issues.
