If your Visa card has been lost or stolen, you need to take action right away. Read on to learn what you should do and how to do it.

Reporting Your Lost or Stolen Card by Phone

No matter what kind of Visa card you have, all you need to do to report it as lost or stolen is call one of Visa's toll-free numbers. Staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help with your request. The Visa representative can help you to notify everyone you need to report to, including the credit reporting agencies if necessary. If you know your card number, Visa can even block your card. If you do not know it, you will need to contact your bank to get the card blocked.

The customer service representative can also get the ball rolling on a replacement card. It could take as many as three business days to receive your replacement card. If you need access to your money before then, Visa may be able to work with your bank to have cash made available to you at a nearby location, a process that may only take hours.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Visa Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Visa in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Report My Visa Credit Card Lost or Stolen? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
