1. Log In to Your VRBO Account

You first need to log in to dispute a charge on your account. To log into your VRBO account:

  • Go to the VRBO website.
  • Click Log in.
  • Enter your email and password.

2. Locate the Reservation in Question

Find your reservation to dispute a charge on it. If you have the reservation number, use it to find your booking on the site. If you don't have this information, try searching by guest name or property address instead. Once you find your booking, navigate to My Account and select Reservations from the drop-down menu under My Reservations.

The next page displays your current reservations for easy viewing and editing purposes. Locate the reservation by scrolling down each listing until you find one that matches yours. This includes dates of stay and any additional notes.

3. Click More

Clicking More will take you to the next page. Locate your reservation in question and click it. Next, scroll down until you see Reservation Details and click it. On this page, there will be a section with Charge Disputes.

4. Click Dispute a Charge and Fill Out the Form

Go to the Dispute Charge section in your account. It will take you to a page with the dispute form. Provide more details about why you are disputing the charge and what happened during your stay. Ensure you include your reservation number and any supporting documentation, such as receipts or photos may help explain why you're disputing this charge.

5. Upload Relevant Documentation

Provide VRBO with documentation that supports your claim. If you made any repairs during your stay and have the receipts or photos to prove it, include them in this section. If there were cleaning issues, ensure to include pictures of garbage. Add any problem with something else, including any communications between yourself and VRBO representatives regarding these problems.

6. Submit the Dispute Form to VRBO

Complete and submit the form on VRBO's website. Your information will help VRBO resolve the dispute quickly and efficiently. The more details you provide, the better. This will also help ensure that VRBO understands why you want them to reverse or cancel a charge on your account. After submitting your dispute form, wait for VRBO to review it and respond with an answer to receiving it.
