How Do I Reset My Uphold Password?

Resetting your Uphold password is easy. Just follow the email instructions and you're all set.

Below are the detailed instructions to change your Uphold password:

  • Go to the login page
  • Hit Forgot Your Password
  • Type in your registered email address
  • You should get a Reset Your Password email from Uphold within a minute giving you instructions to change your password
  • Click the email link

Check your spam folder if you can't find the email. If you still don't see it, make sure to enter the email address registered on Uphold.

Do you have the 2-factor authentication enabled? You'll be asked to enter your Verification Code to validate the new password.

Contact Uphold Customer Support if you never got the email containing the reset password instructions or if you forgot the email address associated with your account. We suggest changing the password as soon as you get the email or the link may expire. Get in touch with Uphold when the email link doesn't work or if you don't have access to your Verification Code.

How to Reset Your 2-Factor Authentication

You can recover your 2-factor authentication code via the Security Key. Contact Support if you don't have your Security Key. Below are the instructions to get your 2-factor code.

When logged in:

Mobile App

  • Hit More located on the bottom right of the page and tap Settings
  • Tap Security and Recover 2-Factor Authentication Access
  • Choose Use security key backup and follow the instructions

New Web Wallet

  • On the left side, tap on the ellipsis sign to access the More options
  • Hit Security
  • Under 2-factor authentication, hit Recover 2-factor access
  • Click Security key backup and follow the instructions

When logged out:

Mobile App

  • Tap Already have an account? Log in on the bottom page
  • Enter your login credentials
  • Hit Having problems with code and choose Security key backup
  • Follow the instructions

New Web Wallet

  • Go to the login page and enter your email credentials
  • Tap Having problems with code
  • Select Security key backup
  • Follow the instructions and you're good to go

How to Sign Up for Uphold

If you don't have an account yet and want to create one, follow the instructions below:

For US Residents

  • Go to the login page and click Sign Up
  • Enter your email address and create a password
  • Choose your country of residence
  • Enter your account information
  • Check the confirmation email and click Get Started
  • Enable your 2-Factor authentication using your phone number
  • Download the Authy app
  • Open the app and enter the phone number registered to Uphold. The app will send you a security code to complete the signup process

For Non-US Residents

  • Go to the Sign-Up page
  • Enter your email address, password, and country of residence
  • Enter your complete name, username and check the confirmation email
  • Enter your phone number and download the Authy app
  • Open the app and use the registered phone number to get your security code
  • Enter the security code to the signup page to complete your registration process

Note: If you're from China, you will be asked to submit a government-issued ID. Contact Support if you have further questions.
