Before Deleting Your Account

There are some steps you need to take before you delete your account. These include:

1. Make sure you transfer all assets out of your Uphold account before deleting it. Your balances should be zero.
2. Once you have moved all your assets out of Uphold, you can close your account by contacting customer support via email or through the online "submit a request" form. You cannot delete your account while it is still open.
3. Be aware there may be some fees involved when transferring funds/assets out to cover the transfer.

Closing Your Account

To close your Uphold account, follow the steps outlined below.

1. Open Uphold in your browser.
2. Click on "Submit a Request" at the top of the screen.
3. Enter your email address linked to your Uphold account.
4. Select "Account" from the drop-down menu under "How can we help?"
5. In the subject line, type "Close Account."
   
6. Type your formal request to close your account in the body of the message. Include any information you feel is relevant to your request. The reason why you are closing is optional; however, if you are closing your Uphold account because you are dissatisfied with the service, letting Uphold know this can help improve the platform down the line.
7. Add any attachments that you feel supports your request.
8. Click "Submit."
