TD Ameritrade's online trading platform lets clients try their hands at investing in stocks, options, futures, the Forex market, and more. If you want to get into investing there, you need to learn how to fund your TD Ameritrade account from your bank account to get started.

ACH Transfers

The easiest way to put money in your TD Ameritrade is by ACH transfer. You have two options for initiating the transfer.

You can ask TD Ameritrade to make the transfer on the company website. Just follow these instructions:

  1. Log into your TD Ameritrade account.
  2. Select Deposit into Your TD Ameritrade Account.
  3. Click the "Request a transfer now" link in the "Give instructions to us, and we'll contact your bank" section.
  4. Provide the requested information and follow any further instructions you are given.

Transfer requests made before 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time will be processed on the same day. It may sometimes take as much as four business days, though. That should be very rare, though.

You can also send an ACH transfer by contacting your bank. When you make the request, give the bank this routing number: 021912915 and this account number: 425614492.

If your bank contacts TD Ameritrade about the transfer during business hours, your account will be credited on the next business day. Otherwise, it will take more than one business day.

Wire Transfers

You can also fund your account by sending a wire transfer from your bank. If you have a U.S. bank, give your bank representative the following information:

Your name, address, and TD Ameritrade account number.

Account # 4123214561

ABA transit routing # 121000248

Address:

Wells Fargo Bank, NA
420 Montgomery Street
San Francisco, CA 94104

To be credited to: TD Ameritrade Clearing, Inc.

If your bank is located in another country, you need to give it different information, depending on the country and currency. You can look up the information your transaction needs here.

If your bank gets the transfer to TD Ameritrade before 5:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, you'll get the money on the same day.

Checks

You can use the TD Ameritrade app to deposit a personal check directly into your account. Go to your account page, take a picture of each check side, enter the amount, and submit. The money should be deposited into your account the same day.

Contacting TD Ameritrade

If you have any questions about the transfer, you can reach out to a TD Ameritrade customer service representative for help. You can talk to one by email, help forum, or phone.
