How Do I Use My Sephora Gift Card for My Purchase?

Gift cards are a common way to pay for purchases at Sephora. You can use either e-gift cards or physical cards. Regardless of which card you have, redeem online by entering the PIN and gift card number in the payment section at checkout.

Founded originally in France in 1969 and partly named after the Greek word for beauty, Sephora is a global personal care company that offers over 300 brands. It even owns its own label: the Sephora Collection. Aficionados can also buy gift cards for themselves or loved ones. Read on to learn more.

What You Need to Know

There are terms and conditions for each gift card purchase. Sephora does offer two types of gift cards: e-gift cards and physical cards. Both types will have a 16-digit card number with an 8-digit PIN. E-gift cards have the extra feature of being more customizable by uploading a photo.

The cards don't expire or have fees, but lost or stolen gift cards cannot be replaced. You can check your balance anytime on the official website, but the balance may be inaccurate sometimes due to delays.

You can only add value to a physical Sephora gift card if it was purchased from the company, either in store, online or through the app. E-gift cards are ineligible for the addition of extra funds.

Also, gift cards and e-gift cards can't be combined with payment features such as Afterpay or Klarna, but please check the website for updates on its gift card policies.

You can only redeem up to two cards at a time on the website, but you can redeem up to 10 gift cards by calling Sephora customer service here. Agents are available 24 hours a day to better improve your experience with the company.

How to Use Your Gift Card

The plastic and e-gift cards have an 8-digit PIN and a 16-digit gift card code, making redeeming them online easy. Uncover the PIN on the plastic card by scratching off the foil. The section with the PIN can be found in the right corner on the back of the card.

Enter the PIN and gift card number in the Payment section upon checkout, and click on the Save and Continue button.

If you're asked for more payment details, such as a credit or debit card, that may be due to the gift card not covering the full amount of your order. Use your debit or credit card details or PayPal to pay the difference.

Additionally, gift cards can be redeemed at any Sephora location in the country the card was purchased in, and you can also use the app to place an order. Some retailers, such as Kohl's, have a Sephora store inside that can also accept the gift card.
