How Do I Cancel a Recurring Bill Payment with Santander?

Canceling a recurring bill payment with Santander will require you to sign into your online banking. Click the Payment Center and locate the recurring payment you want to cancel. Once you find it, choose Edit or Cancel. The bank will show an Are You Sure pop-up window asking if you want to cancel this recurring payment. If so, click Done. The bank will verify the cancellation of this recurring bill payment.

One of the great things about online bill payment is that it lets you automate your bills and save yourself some time. Santander offers an online bill payment service to pay your utility, credit card, and loan bills.

You can only cancel recurring payments within the bank account where you set them up. Here are the steps to cancel a recurring bill payment with Santander.

1. Log In to Your Account

Logging in to your account, ideally through the Santander website, is the first step. You'll need your account number, which you can find on your card or statement. Choose a Banking or Financial Services option. Choose the Payments section.

2. Select the Account Online Link

Go to My Account. Select Payment Settings and then Payments. Search for the bill you want to cancel and select it. A pop-up will appear. Click Continue.

3. Review the Cancellation details

If you want to cancel a recurring bill payment with Santander, review your cancellation details before you click cancel. Verify if you can cancel some of its recurring payments without incurring any fees. Possibly, others might result in cancellation fees. If you don't check the cancellation details before you click cancel, you could end up paying a fee that you thought was avoidable.

4. Cancel the Payment

Choose Cancel Payment and enter any comments (optional) in the text box. Check the box that says, I No Longer Want This Payment. Type in your password if you receive a prompt. Scroll down and click Continue. It will take you to a screen that says, Thank You for Canceling Your Payment.

5. Click Done

Santander will send an email confirming it has received your cancellation. Once processed, it will notify you again.
