If I Don't Claim a Home Depot Gift Card, What Happens?

Home Depot Gift Cards come in digital and physical versions that can be bought and loaded with funds online or in store at any time. These cards have no fees or expiry dates attached to them, and even if you or your recipient don't claim a card you have, it's still usable indefinitely.

Home Depot issues gift cards in both physical and digital form, depending on which you prefer. Physical Home Depot gift cards can be obtained in store or ordered online and sent via mail to any address in the United States. Digital Home Depot egift cards can be ordered and preloaded online and then emailed to you or a recipient of your choice. These digital cards can then be printed out or saved to someone's Apple Passbook or Google Wallet.

In the case of both physical and digital gift cards, you can reload them at any time and use them for in-store purchases in any Home Depot Store or online on the retailer's website.

Failing to Claim a Home Depot Gift Card

In the case of both physical Home Depot gift cards and the digital egift card versions, once you've activated and loaded one, it has no fees attached to it and no expiration date. The card is usable as soon as it's been bought and loaded with its minimum balance or more. Also, because these cards have no annual or other fees attached to them, yours won't lose its existing balance by itself just because you haven't claimed and used it.

On the other hand, Home Depot can cancel or invalidate an existing gift card at its discretion for any number of reasons, or if it suspects that the card was obtained and funded through fraud.

If you have any questions about buying and loading your own Home Depot Gift Card, you can also contact Home Depot's customer support for the latest terms and conditions on these convenient little gift options.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Home Depot Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Home Depot in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our If I Don't Claim a Home Depot Gift Card, What Happens? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
