A family member had left my xbox one s on for a few hours unoccupied. When I came back the tv screen was black. I tried turning the xbox off. It made the power off sound, but the light stayed on for the next couple of minutes. Finally, I just unplugged it. When I turned it back on the xbox light came on, but the tv screen remained black. I looked online for a solution. Of course I changed the hdmi cord, plugged it into a different port and then a different tv. Still, the screen remained black. Next I tried holding the power button, as well as the eject button and the pair button. Finally, something popped up on screen. I was given the option to continue, to reset, to power off, or to initiate an offline update. Thinking that the problem was gone, I chose continue since it seemed my screen was working again. However, the screen turned black again immediately after. Upon starting the process over, I chose power off. I got a black screen again, while my xbox was still on. I tried pressing the buttons again and this time I chose to reset but keep the saves, profiles, games, etc. Black screen. Factory reset option? Black screen. I am at a loss now. Everything I have found online tells me to do the things I have already done, and I fear this may have just worsened the problem.
GetHuman-bsevur did not yet indicate what Xbox should do to make this right.
