To recover your account, use your email address to reset your password but be sure you have the spelling correct. The best thing you can do is try to reset the password by clicking "Forgot Password" under the login then follow the prompt. You should have the option to reset with your phone number.

Hello, *I used Venmo a couple years ago and recently tried to get back into my account under the email *****@***.com and **********. I forgot my password, so I reset it using my phone number. **Because I have a new phone , it asked to verify by email or bank account. I don’t have access to that email anymore and the account I used to have has been cancelled and I switched banks. **My friend sent me money that she’s not able to get back, or I’d just create a new one. **Is there a way I could verify my identity other than email or bank acct? **Thank you
