** October **** around *:**am, *I called Uber and received Somasiri as Driver.*I ordered an XL, as I have a foldable bike, the size of a suitcase when completely collapsed, which had a flat tire - again *:** in the morning.*The driver told me the couldn't take me, then said I'd have to pay extra.*Are they allowed to negotiate addition fees in addition to what I paid through Uber?*I am a female, who was stranded in route to work for a *am shift - in a near completely dark area.*I eventually lifted my bike into the rear of his mini van WITHOUT his help, and it fit perfectly without issue and he was able to close the door without an issue.*Why would I pay extra for that? He didn't even help me get it in? And if I came with two suitcases, THEY would have taken more space than my bike.*I couldn't understand the issue. *His driving was something else - it was jerky stop and go, he also complained of disorientation while drive despite the GPS telling him the correct route. This was while he was trying to tell me he deserves more money because Uber only pays him $* more for XL pick ups.**I have lived in New Orleans for nearly * years. I've never had an issue with a FOLDING bike.**I also don't want to be haggled or asked for more money for something that is not an inconvenience.**I thought you should know this.**Thanks in advance.
