The issue in GetHuman1128318's own words
My $*** rent check was stolen from the mail. My roommates and I mailed our rent checks in a USPS box, and our landlord's doorman confirmed that he did not receive our checks. We have confirmation that at least two of the checks have been cashed, and have filed a police report. **I paid using a USPS money order, however I no longer have the money order's receipt so I am unable to file a "Lost Money Order" report and receive a refund. Contacting USPS is my only remaining recourse to obtain a refund because I do not have that receipt (however, I have most of the serial number from the long form receipt obtained from my Postal Service branch). **The total amount stolen from all of our checks is $****. However, most of my roommates have been able to receive refunds or cancel their checks from parties other than the USPS. Thus, I would like to work with USPS to simply receive my refund of $***, considering that the evidence indicates that this theft occurred while the mail was in USPS custody. **Thank you
