Good afternoon,*I have a Target RedCard that was issued in **** and expires on ****. I called customer service and was told that despite the expiration date, my card was deactivated due to inactivity. Recently, * Target stores were opened in my neighborhood (lower east side of Manhattan. NY) making it much more convenient to patronize your business. Customer Service told me they could not reactivate the card and I would need to go to the store to reapply. I monitor my credit report very closely and I have an excellent rating which would be compromised by a hard inquiry by Target. Reapplying for a RedCard is not worth the risk, therefore, if my present account cannot be reopened. I will cease to shop at Target...and will strongly discourage others to do so.
