My Subaru Forester is sitting at the dealership undriveable. I have the car towed in, told them the engine was dead, and received feedback that they ran a $*** diagnostic that told them the engine was dead. It will be $**** to dismantle it to see what is wrong and what parts are still usable. It will then be a total of s$****-**** to have the engine rebuilt*replaced. The value of the car is probably only between **** and **,***. I have records to indicate that the car has been properly maintained with oil changes, etc. This is the third time I have had a replacement relative to the engine. The turbo has been replaced twice. There is no insurance claim because it wasn’t an accident and the car is no longer under warranty, so nothing is being covered. The dealership is under new ownership, so they don’t have a fleet of loaner cars yet either. Which means I’m also paying for the rental car on my dime. This engine situation is not my doing and I believe Subaru needs to take some responsibility in covering the costs for the issues I’ve had with this car.
