The issue in GetHuman-helpfrom's own words
I traveled from Memphis Tn to Chicago Il on *******. Flight * ****, reservation * N*QFDV and reservation * MTU*LC. Departure time was *:**p and arrival time to Chicago *:**p. The flight was delayed. I know sometimes we don't have control of Mother Nature. But neither I nor other customers were informed by staff as to what was going on. Around **issh a.m. A staff member stated the nature of the flight delay. Also stated that a plane was arriving from somewhere and was waiting for flight attendants to arrive. Was kept in the dark, why the flight was delayed * hours or longer. I kept receiving telephone calls from a toll free number, stating the nature of the call. Basically a status change regarding my flight. But the recording message did not state the reason why flight was delayed. Because the area where we were waiting was cold, I spent money on clothing accessories for myself and children, in order to keep warm. Long sleeve sweat shirts, long jogging pants and light fleece blankets. Money was also spent on extra food to replenish the food I ran out of. My work schedule was interrupted. My son is part of an extensive summer program. Which he was only scheduled to take off the scheduled time of the trip. His day was also interrupted. There were also other family members traveling with medical disabilities such as Dementia, Kidney disease and Colon Cancer disease. A family was not able to give herself dialysis treatment, which is ministered * days a week., because she was not in the comfort of her home at the time. Family member with Colon Cancer was going to the bathroom excessively. Another family member is recuperating from a hip replacement. The seating arrangement was very uncomfortable thru out the evening. This has caused a great hardship for all of us. Trying to tend to each other, to make sure we all were as comfortable as possible. Because those family members were temporarily wheel chair bound. There wasn't enough staff to assist with transporting them to different areas where they needed to be. So other family members stepped in to help to transport them. Which for some, was hard on the body to walk the distance. I would like to know how South West Airlines can assist in some reimbursement expenses for my trip, for myself and * children's. A response would be greatly appreciated.*Thank you.
