The issue in GetHuman2719701's own words
I have bought three ** mm Galaxy watches the first two were defective as far as the heart rate monitor and the step counter did not work the third one I bought had similar issues the step counter was way off but the heart rate monitor did work so I called in two technical support and they accommodated me with doing a overnight warranty once I got the watch back it seemed to work much better or at least acceptable for how many steps it was still off the heart rate monitor not recording but that's the least of my problems after wearing the watch out of nowhere I noticed bright red marks on a few spots on my wrist when I took the watch off at night to charge it by the time I realized what was going on under the watch and saw my skin was peeling off bloodied needless to say it was quite disturbing to see this on my arm I was about to go to the doctor when I saw my neighbor which is an EMT and asked him to take a look at it and he instantly told me that that is a second degree burn most likely caused from a chemical I told him about the watch we both looked and saw that it's exactly in all the spots where the watch band sits on your wrist after wrapping it up I called Samsung to tell them the issue and like usual they played dumb they don't know about this situation yet I Googled it and there's hundreds of people if not thousands that have the exact same thing and Samsung tries to deny and act like it's not a defective product that not only has technical issues but causes harm an injury to their customers this is unacceptable on all levels especially when you ask to speak to somebody that knows about this particular problem you get switched around four different people supervisor after supervisor that are quote on quote going to help you and then the last person after * hours of getting the run-around tells you oh we haven't had any reports of that but you can send the watch back into us and Will Repair it I asked to speak to the legal department or somebody that can take responsibility for this before I had to go to a lawyer and see if somebody has already started a class action lawsuit or what Samsung is going to do to compensate so what's happened here if you have a way for me to send you the pictures of what happened to my wrist I would be more than happy to do that
