We have a PS* that my son plays games on. A week ago we got an email saying that he was banned for seven days and I went online to try to find out why but do you know avail. The email read “Play station safety determined that content uploaded from your account to messages *.* on PlayStation network breached the code of conduct set out in our terms of service. *What was wrong with it: *Offensive or abusive content including any vulgar language images audio video other user generated content or abuse directed at others.” *Unable to find any way to get in touch with a person at playstation (the website just brings you around in an infinite circle) Just to find out what was supposedly uploaded, we just stuck it out for the seven day suspension. My son is only ** years old and while new child is perfect he is unable to think of any time that he would’ve done anything that would have justified this. This Sunday his suspension was lifted in the early hours of the morning and he has played Fortnite a few times with adult supervision. There was nothing we noticed that would justify any further suspension. Tonight he tried to log on and couldn’t. We checked the email and there was another notice sent, this time suspending him for ** days. The email reads “Your account has been temporarily suspended.*What happened:*Your account for PlayStation network has been temporarily suspended for ** days. *Why: *play station safety determined that content uploaded from your account to messages *.* on PlayStation network breached the code of conduct set out in our terms of service. What was wrong with it:*Offensive or abusive content including any vulgar language images audio video other user generated content or abuse directed at others.*Until ******** at *:** AM Eastern standard time you won’t be able to access online multiplayer, PlayStation store, and other network features. Further offenses may result in permanent suspension. ....” **As i’m sure everyone goes we have a lot of money invested in some of the games and the thought of being even temporarily banned, much less if ever permanently banned without any proof of said violations is unnerving to say the least. Kids, especially this year, with quarantine and the way everything has been canceled, have come to rely even more on these games and networks as their only social venue in many cases. He is in tears, sobbing wanting to know what he did and it’s heartbreaking. And of course It’s very important to us as parents to know what’s going on with our kids whether they’ve done good things or bad things so we would like to know what exactly happened. Also we would like to know if there’s a possibility that this could be a mistake or some kind of mixup as our child is not, to our knowledge, prone to this type of behavior. *Any help you can offer would be so appreciated as I am at a dead end and beyond frustrated with playstation at this point. Thank you so much.
