I am currently a member at planet fitness in Melbourne, FL. I have been a regular member for over a year, black card member for * months. I go tanning twice per week, and I usually don’t burn. Today, I went tanning in a lay down bed. I usually clean the bed off before and after I use it, but today I had not wiped it off before. I tanned for ** minutes and after my whole back side of my body was severely burnt. It is the whole backside that was touching a bed. I went to notify a team member so that they are aware and that’s when they told me that they only clean the beds once per day. After saying that, the manager tried to change the story and say that they “try” to clean them after every use. After I tan the bed usually says that it needs to be cleaned, they must not clean them. The team member even said that the only burnt part was from touching the bed and probably oil burnt on me from the person before. After asking to simply cancel my membership due to being burned, they wanted me to pay the cancellation fee. They did not even apologize for the burn nor look into it. I have pictures to show how severe the burns are on the back on my legs, buttocks, back, and back of arms. Again, I am a regular tanner so I do not burn easily. All I asked was for a cancellation and they could not give that to me. If the burn blisters I will have to make an appointment.
