I can’t remember if I called an Apple number or a Malwarebytes number, but somehow I was connected to Wadhwa. There was much static on the line and I could not hear clearly. (I only realized in her call to me today that she can raise or lower the level of static at will.)**After telling her about the hacking message, she asked to be able to access my computer and I agreed. She removed what she said was malware. And then I think we used the Malwarebytes program to scan my laptop. **Then Wadhwa offered me a subscription to Malware because mine was running out soon. She first offered me a one-year and two-year subscription, and then said there was a lifetime subscription for $***.**. I decided to get that.**Wadhwa would not take a credit card but said I needed to go to PayPal. She helped me open a PayPal account to send her the payment.**Later, when I did not receive a receipt so became concerned about this purchase. I opened my PayPal account and saw I had sent that payment to an individual not connected to Malwarebytes in any way.**I then called Malwarebytes to ask if they had received my lifetime subscription. I was told they no longer had lifetime subscriptions and that they had not received any renewal to my account. **Then I called PayPal and put in a complaint. * *This woman called me today. When I asked, she told me who she actually works for. She offered me only a partial return of my payment because she worked on my computer.**I want to put in a claim and am not sure if this is it, or if I need to do something more.**I believe the static on the phone line was set to high while she told me the name of her company. **I believe she had me open an account on PayPal so I would not know who was getting the money until she had it, and so her bank account would not be revealed. **I believe she deliberately misled me, leading me to think I was going to receive a lifetime subscription to Malwarebytes. **I would never knowingly deal with a third party regarding computer repairs.**Thank you.
