Hello, I have been using OfferUp for the past year and have been enjoying the services for buying and selling items. Today, I encountered issues accessing the site and thought it might be due to my phone, internet, or the app itself. After deleting and reinstalling the app with no success, I discovered that my IP address was unexpectedly blocked. I am currently in the process of negotiating the purchase of a used car after being in a car crash, and OfferUp has been a convenient platform for my needs. I tried accessing OfferUp on my wife's phone, and it worked fine. I kindly request assistance in understanding why my IP address was blocked and would appreciate having my account reinstated. My username is Toyn Mohmoh, and my email address is [redacted] I rely on OfferUp for purchasing household items and other necessities and hope to resolve this issue promptly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I reached out to OfferUp regarding a [redacted] Acura TL, and the seller kept contacting me, offering the car for $[redacted]. She explained the reason for selling it and even sent an invoice from eBay Motors. She instructed me to use eBay Cars for payment, which I did. However, the next day, I received an email asking for an additional $[redacted] for insurance delivery, which I declined. Since then, I have not heard back from the seller or eBay, who claimed the cards were cashed. I am hoping to get a refund and see them held accountable for this.

I recently bought a washer and dryer from a seller on your platform. They guaranteed it was in perfect working order. However, after a short while, both appliances stopped working. I tried reaching out to the seller multiple times with no response. Melissa from your trust and safety team advised me to contact law enforcement, but they couldn't assist me in this matter. It seems the seller is continuing to deceive others. I feel wronged as I'm out of $[redacted].00. I would like guidance on how to obtain the seller's information for potential civil action. I have email evidence of our conversation, including their assurances of the items' good condition. I seek a resolution to this issue.

I sent out the items to the buyer, and they confirmed receiving it. However, the pending amount that was supposed to be deposited into my account is now missing. The balance shows zero, and the sale has been canceled, which I did not initiate. I need to know where my money is for the sale as it seems like the buyer has received my items for free. I would like a prompt response with an explanation and guidance on how to recover the money owed to me. Thank you.

My account is under the name Jaus. I sold a rose gold iPhone SE in perfect condition. The tracking number for the shipment is 9[redacted] 1[redacted] [redacted] 99. I couldn't utilize the shipping label provided by OfferUp as my package exceeded the weight limit due to additional items I included with the phone. Despite the phone being delivered to the buyer, there is a threat to cancel the transaction. I am unable to reach anyone due to an error message ("forbidden (5gg...)"). Please verify the USPS tracking information, which will show that the package was sent to the correct address. Kindly contact the buyer to ensure the transaction is completed smoothly. I faced additional shipping costs due to the weight discrepancy. I hope for a prompt resolution to release the funds, ideally within two to three business days. You can reach me at [redacted]

I recently purchased two phones on OfferUp using the shipping option, and unfortunately, both phones arrived damaged. One of the phones, which cost $[redacted], had a non-functioning SIM card holder. I filed claims for both phones through buyer protection but have not received any response within the required two-day timeframe. The transaction code for the most recent claim submitted on April 2, [redacted], is [redacted], and the first transaction was on March 12 with code [redacted]. On top of this, a payment for an item worth $67 was canceled after I received it, causing me to pay the seller again using Zelle. Despite filing a claim for this issue as well, I have yet to receive any response. It's frustrating to be in this situation with multiple claims unanswered, and I wonder how I can trust OfferUp to resolve these issues.

A woman named Misty contacted me about my portable AC unit. She came to pick it up the same day and inspected it. She asked about smoke, and I explained I hadn't smoked for 10 years and the unit was 3 to 4 years old with no smoke exposure. She confirmed it was in great condition but now claims it smells like an ashtray. She contacted me to return it for a refund, accusing me of dishonesty. The unit was kept in the garage under plastic for a few hours before she collected it. Despite her initial approval, she now wants a refund citing a smoky smell. I am upset by her change of heart and feel unfairly treated, especially after she had no issues initially.

Hello, my name is Syndi. I had a concerning experience with a woman named Misti Puening. She offered to buy an item from me and wanted me to hold it for 7 days until she could pick it up. I declined because it seemed unusual. She then texted back, saying she could pick it up that same day, but arrived late. When she finally came to collect it, she claimed the item smelled of cigarette smoke, even though I explained I have not smoked in my home for 10 years. She purchased the item but later accused me of dishonesty and demanded a refund, causing me stress. I blocked her, but now she's threatening to show up for a refund. Her behavior has been distressing, and I'm unsure what to do. I believed all sales were final after she inspected and bought the item. Can she demand a refund after agreeing the purchase was final? I'm anxious about this situation and would appreciate some advice.

I am extremely frustrated that despite being told you would contact me, I have not heard from anyone yet. It has been three days since the buyer received the package, and I am still waiting for information on my money. My post was removed without reason, causing this predicament. I need my $[redacted] back as soon as possible. I have never encountered this issue before when sending items. Please reach out to me immediately to resolve this situation.

I bought an iPhone X from an individual on NYIA who claimed to be a "trueyou" member, thinking it was safe. The seller communicated with me through the app and text messages, stating they only accepted payments via Cash App or Apple Pay. After sending $[redacted].00, the seller assured me about shipping the item soon. However, when I tried to follow up later, my messages went unanswered, and the seller's phone went to voicemail, indicating a potential block. They neither viewed my messages nor responded to my inquiries about shipping details on OfferUp. Following advice from Apple Pay, I reached out to local authorities to file a case, providing their phone number [redacted] and my Apple Case number [redacted][redacted]. I am currently awaiting a response from the police and hoping for a resolution regarding the refund process, but uncertain about the outcome.

Recently, someone gained unauthorized access to my account, altering the email and password. I have around [redacted] items listed for sale with a total of over 1k in sales. However, since the breach, only about 15 sales are showing, and there seems to be zero views on my new postings. I have noticed discrepancies with my bank account details, and after reaching out to OfferUp multiple times when I spotted an unfamiliar email linked to my profile, I have yet to receive a response. It has been weeks since I last made a sale. I attempted to create a new account, but my items are still not getting any views. To resolve this issue, it is crucial to revert my email back to the original one from Yahoo and ensure that my listings are visible to potential buyers. I believe these steps would address the problem at hand. Despite these challenges, I still have faith in OfferUp as a reliable platform and trust that they will rectify the situation for all users' security.

I have contacted OfferUp via email regarding scammers on the platform. I have reported these users and had a conversation with Will from OfferUp about this issue. As a keen coin collector who stays updated with the annual Red Book coin price guide, I can spot misleading listings. Some sellers are falsely advertising items like Buffalo nickels as rare silver coins, and others are trying to pass off fakes as genuine pieces. One seller even listed a fake [redacted] Morgan Silver Dollar as proof, which raised red flags for me. I've flagged these listings, hoping OfferUp takes consumer protection seriously. If not, I'll file complaints with the FTC and BBB. It's crucial for companies like OfferUp to safeguard consumers from scammers. I reached out to these sellers before flagging them to address any misunderstandings. One seller changed their listing after I warned them, while another is still trying to sell a misrepresented item for $[redacted]. There are dishonest individuals on the platform exploiting unsuspecting buyers. I urge OfferUp to better manage flagged users to protect consumers efficiently. Sincerely, A Concerned Consumer

On March 26, [redacted], my 19-year-old daughter was robbed and nearly kidnapped while trying to purchase an iPhone from someone on OfferUp. I have a police report and some details, but I require additional assistance. The individual has taken down his profile, only using the first name "Johnn." He appeared to have been active on the platform for some time and was also looking for red Beats headphones among other items. Following the incident, my daughter had to seek medical attention as he forcibly tried to pull her into his car. Any help in apprehending this person would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I contacted a user named nateconnor on OfferUp to purchase a Mario Kart game from his Switch bundle. He requested I send $6.50 for shipping via Cash App, which I did. Upon returning to OfferUp, both the messages and the item listing were gone. I have saved our conversation in my email and am seeking a refund as I believe I have been scammed. I am hoping OfferUp can assist me in reaching out to this user to either retrieve the item or receive a refund. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I am Tiffany. I purchased an iPhone 6s from a person named Paul Montel through OfferUp. He claimed to have bought the phone from Metro for $[redacted], and I paid an additional $20 for delivery. The phone was supposed to be in good condition with an unlocked iCloud as it was a Metro phone. However, upon checking with Metro, I found out that the IMEI was locked to a different carrier. When I reached out to Paul, he admitted the issue but later avoided any further communication by blocking my calls. Metro, Sprint, and Verizon all mentioned that I needed the seller's cooperation to unlock the phone. Paul changed his story, claiming he bought it from a friend. Despite my request, he refuses to refund my money. I seek assistance in resolving this matter as it has been a significant financial loss.

I am a seller who received a cashier's check for $2,[redacted] from a buyer for furniture. After depositing the check, the bank informed me that only $[redacted] would be available immediately. Now, the buyer is requesting $[redacted] for a sofa and two chairs, along with $70 for my troubles, asking me to forward the rest to a furniture transportation service. Initially, our agreement was for all furniture totaling $1,[redacted], with the payment to be made to the movers upon collection. The buyer now wants me to transfer the money for the transportation of the furniture before sending the remaining payment. I contacted the bank, and they mentioned it would take up to two weeks to verify if the check clears. I am unsure whether to return the entire amount, transfer what the buyer is asking for, or wait for the check to clear on its own. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, my name is Tiffany. I purchased an iPhone *s from someone named Paul Montel on OfferUp. He claimed he bought it from Metro for $*** but since he lived far away, I paid an additional $*** for delivery. The phone was supposedly clear of any issues, iCloud unlocked, and a Metro phone. However, upon contacting Metro, I discovered the IMEI was locked, not matching their records. After confronting Paul, he admitted to blocking my calls and providing conflicting information about the phone's origins. He refused to refund me when I asked. I sought assistance from Sprint and Verizon, both unable to help without his consent. When visiting Metro's corporate office, I learned the phone was not blacklisted but stolen from a store by the seller. Can anyone advise me on how to recover my money in this situation?

A few weeks back, I bought a fountain from a seller on Offer Up. Despite me mentioning the smell of spray paint, the seller brushed it off as coming from her garage. However, when I got the fountain home, it was clear that it had been poorly glued together. I paid $50 for a defective item. I am seeking a refund. Additionally, I gifted the seller a $[redacted] purse that I intended for someone else. I have tried to contact her twice but have not received a response.

Recently Robbed - Seeking Assistance!! Hello everyone, I am reaching out for help as my car got broken into, and my tattooing equipment, essential for my livelihood, was stolen. I have discovered one of my valuable items, a Spektra Xion tattoo rotary, being sold on OfferUp in the areas of Menifee, Corona, and Temecula, CA, under the account names Fred and Alyssa. I have reported the theft to the police, but it seems they are unable to assist me adequately. I fear contacting the seller directly due to safety concerns. The rotary tattoo machine is significant to me, and I can verify its authenticity through a matching serial number on the receipt and the machine itself. If anyone has any advice or can assist me in retrieving my stolen equipment, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Maycie Ray

Hello, my name is Terea Lopez. I recently started selling on your app and encountered some issues with OfferUp. I sent a customer a pair of hoop earrings on time, confirmed by a receipt that I shipped them. However, OfferUp claimed I didn't ship on time. Despite the customer acknowledging receipt, OfferUp refunded them and kept my merchandise. Another problem arose with delayed dish delivery; I ordered them in March and got them just two days ago. The seller received payment before I could rate them, and they are unresponsive to my messages. I even sent pictures to OfferUp regarding the dish issue but have not heard back.
