Complaint,*Let me start by giving a bit of history. I lived in Rockford Ill for a few years then moved back to St Louis area. While in Rockford I shopped Menards and built two homes and renovated two homes through Menards. *Owning an older home in St Louis I was excited when Menards opened here in St Louis. *The store I shop is on Hanley Rd in Richmond Heights, St Louis. The service was not like the service in Rockford. It was hit and miss at best. Needless to say, I have spent a few thousand dollars and recommended to my friends and family. *If I wanted help I would have to find it. Sometimes I never got help, so then I go across the road to Home Depot and get what I need. Items purchases from HD from poor or no service includes *Compressor **** deck screws*Fence (*** ft cedar) wheel barrel *Weedeater $*** Gift Card*Blower Lattice *Chainsaw Paint*Crushed limestone (paver base) gutters*Washer*dryer *Stove*A drill *I have over *** receipts from Home Depot (I save my receipts they email them) over the past two years*Now, this is not much compared to what I purchased from of Menards, just missed sales opportunities for you. If I would bring this to the manager's attention I get the same canned answer, they really don’t care if they lose business. If their salary was tied to sales they might act differently. I was a district manager for years and I would have been mad as ****, to lose sales like this. Maybe business is good you don’t need mine. I complain to the store because I would want that, give them a chance to fix it first. *I have decided to cash in my $** dollars’ worth of **% rebates then be done with Menards.*I just wanted you to know why. *Final straw I was in their ********* I just had a ticket for the yard *** cedar fence boards and ** *x*.*I had picked up a few metal *X* post bases. I was spending around $*** that day and was heading for the lawn and garden to get my spring yard stuff when I turned the corner I was almost attacked by a black male, yelling at me stating I could not be there. It looked like a part of the store to me I was looking at my list and was passing through. I apologized and said sorry I was just passing through. He kept on yelling at me saying don’t ever come through there again. I was almost through that section I could still hear him. He said I was stupid for walking through there. That was it I turned and said I could leave my cart and leave. Some white lady, middle-aged came up to me telling me not to walk through there again. I handed her my yard ticket and said here this is what I will go buy across the street at Home Depo. I get it don’t walk through a stocking area* the warning was uncalled for and excessive. *Block the area off if you don’t want customer through there. *I told a female manager at the desk when I left she just ask me who was it? Like I know who it was?*It’s your store you know your employees, you go find out. They had my name and phone number from the ticket I handed the lady yelling at me. *Calmed down I called the store and ask for the general manager he surely would want to correct the issue. I talked to Kenny, I believe. I doubt he was the GM as he read the canned customer complaint form. He said the area was posted like it was my fault for excessive abuser by the employee. **I apologized for passing through the section several times I just made a wrong turn never saw any signs* not saying they were not there I just had never seen them. I had been at the yard station in that area several times all they were doing was staging product no tow motors running around I don’t see why the abuse. Walk me through if you're concerned about my safety. *Good luck to you, I have a feeling you will need it until you modify your business model.
