The issue in GetHuman-lady_tud's own words
I just returned from shopping at Macys Backstage located at **** Union Tpke, New Hyde Park, NY *****. I had located a bottle of cologne that's package was opened but there was a price ticket on there. as I go to check out I ask the sales associate Shane if the opened item was discounted and his response was "no, why did you open it?" I was completed and utterly offended and asked why I would do such a thing and his response was I don't know but there are closed ones so I suggest you take one of those. he then continues to ring me up and I have a dress that has a tag but no pricing, he looks in a book and turns back to me and says that its going to cost **.** and I say okay and he then rings up the other dress I had from the same designer and then stops ringing me up and calls his manager to the front (without explain what is going on) when she comes he asks her since the dress is from the same designer and * came up **.** with the price tag but the other without came up **.** should he use the higher price? which the manager answered of course not I then mentioned that there were more dresses in the store that he could look at and he said oh there are where are they? I said in the dress section and his response is okay but where exactly and I said I'm sorry I don't know I had been shopping for a while. thankfully the manger offered to go look and I told her I could help and we located the dress. by this time I explain to her that not only am I shaking and upset but I feel humiliated at being accused of stealing or trying to change prices as though I cant afford to pay full price. (thankfully she was nice and understanding and helped me from then on out). I have shopped in this store a lot over the * years that I have worked in this area and have never been treated, talked to or accused by anyone and today was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. this kind of treatment is unacceptable and hurtful and there has to be some time of recourse for that of behavior. I shouldn't have to worry that the next time I go shopping and find something that I make sure I pick up something that has a price because I may be questioned on the authenticity of the pricing or if it was in fact that way before I touched it. its just not right.
