I am a prospective college student working to save up money right now. I wanted to use LinkedIn's free trial for the Premium Memberhsip because it allowed me to quickly connect with more professionals that helped me learn more about my desired field as well as which academic programs to pursue. I had no intention of using it past one month since I could not afford it whatsoever. After an entire one month, I decided to cancel it but learned I had already been charged. Now, even though I find it ridiculous that LinkedIn requires you to cancel a day before since no other subscription service does this, I'm willing to comply because it's in their policy and I failed to read that. HOWEVER, there was absolutely no indication that if I didn't unsubscribe on time, I would be charged not just for one month, like normal subscriptions would do, but the entire year. So here I am, $*** down the drain, simply wishing to pay for the one month as I have now lost savings for school over a simple mistake that should not have this strict of a punishment. All I'm asking is to pay for the first month and get a refund for the whole year payment because it is just too harsh.
