Account sent to collections due to death of loan holder

We're truly sorry to hear about your loss. As for the question, when a LightStream loan holder passes away, the responsibility of the account largely depends on the specifics of the loan agreement and the laws of the deceased's state of residence. Generally, the estate of the deceased will take responsibility for handling outstanding debts. It may be beneficial to contact a probate attorney to discuss your individual situation. To resolve the loan, the borrower's estate, a co-signer if any, or joint account holders may be responsible to repay the loan. Remember, it is important to notify LightStream as soon as possible after the death of the loan holder.

How do I get an account balance ?

LightStream does not provide an account management interface because they are a division of Truist bank that provides simple, straightforward loans. Once your LightStream Loan is funded, you effectively start to repay it and there won't be a balance to check. As for payments, you can set them through your own bank’s online bill pay service. You can also set up auto deductions from your account where the loan is funded to. For detailed account information or specific queries, you would have to reach out to their customer service.
