Hi, My name is Minsuk. **I have been a member since January **st, ****. My phone number is *** *** ******I faced an issue when I tried to cancel my membership due to personal reason* I will be out of country for about *- * months starting July. **Here is what happened:****On Friday May **th, I called Bellevue LA fitness branch to confirm that I will not be charged for the next bill, which is on **st , if I come in today and cancel my membership. *She clearly told me that I will not be charged, and even if I am charged I will get my refund. So I went directly to one of the LA fitness gym near me in Bellevue, WA, which is on Main Street* this is where I made my membership.**I confronted with one of the employees and she printed out the cancellation form and put it on the manager’s desk who was not in the building at that moment. **She again confirmed me that I will either not get charged or charged first on coming **st and get refund in *-* business days.**She told me that the manager will sign my cancellation as soon as he comes back, and I will get a confirmation email soon. **All this happened around **:** pm right after noon. **I waited for the confirmation email but didn’t receive anything on that day or over the weekend. **So today, Monday May **st, I went in AGAIN to the same store to figure this thing out. **Different lady helped me out at first. She told me it was already cancelled but it was cancelled on today May **st, not on Friday when I first came in around **:** pm. **She soon brought out the manager this time, and he told me that this billing is inevitable. ???**He said I had to come in * days before payment due in order to avoid next billing, so I read the “How to cancel your dues membership” on the contract form he printed for me. **And it says in either case of a cancellation postmarked at least * business days before next billing or a cancellation postmarked less than * business days before next billing, if such an additional *Billing occurs, LA fitness will refund that billing. **So I talked to him about this. I pointed out that I can get refund for any case. **Then he told me it is different because in my case I CAME IN to the store instead of Mailing it. **My billing is about $** every month. I can afford it luckily. My experience with LA fitness was awesome. Gentle members, clean and energetic atmosphere. **I would definitely come back to this gym. I also have referred two friends to LA fitness. One of them cancelled his membership due to his military training. **But the way the manager talked and explained to me was making no sense. ***.*First, the first female employee I talked to said I will either get refund or not charged in circumstances since I visited days before my billing due. She even told me that I will be refunded if the charge goes through. I called her before the visit so you can track the call record* my call was on May **th **** around noon. But the manager claims totally different things.**.*Second, the manager was not in the building when he had to, and did not sign the cancellation form until * days after. **.*Third, the manager is telling me that what it says on the contract from about membership cancellation does not apply to me because I did not MAIL the form but instead CAME IN on Friday when, he claims, usually nothing is processed until the next week Monday. **.*Fourth, I did not get any apologies from anyone for this confusion they created. Anyone can make mistake but they are the ones who caused confusion from either miscommunication or lack of training, and their attitude about this was so pompous and arrogant.
