I recently attempted to visit the LA Fitness facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and had an extremely negative experience. The staff treated me poorly, making me feel unwelcome and insignificant. This specific location is the one in the northern part of the city. I have decided not to return to any LA Fitness gym after the disrespectful attitude and unprofessional behavior I encountered there. It would be beneficial for the staff to undergo additional training on how to interact with potential clients in a respectful manner. It is important for all individuals to feel welcome at the gym, regardless of their appearance. During my last visit, I requested a temporary pass to try out the gym, but the entire experience left me feeling disheartened. I am left wondering if LA Fitness is an exclusive establishment or if they cater to a diverse range of individuals. Perhaps LA Fitness should prioritize the management and atmosphere of their gyms over solely focusing on profits.

Hello, my name is Gerardo. I've been a member of LA Fitness in Sugar Land, TX, on Hwy 6 and Bissonnet [redacted] for 3 months. Recently, when my son and I went to the gym, there was an incident with a man named Donald who was conducting martial arts classes without the proper permits, license, or certificates from LA Fitness. Donald used inappropriate language towards my son when he was at the boxing bags, and ultimately punched my son in the nose, causing an injury. I have reported this to the police and spoken with the manager, Jennifer, requesting that this man's membership be canceled due to safety concerns for all members. My son, who has health issues, was recommended by a doctor to exercise at the gym, and this incident has made him afraid to return. I urge for a resolution to ensure the safety of all members. Thank you for addressing this matter promptly.

I encountered a distressing situation at LA Fitness in Chicago-Lakeview East with Sales person, Carina Ragsdale. While attempting to use a guest pass, I politely declined a sales talk, but Carina reacted unprofessionally by raising her voice, blocking my attempts to contact my son inside who is a member, and threatened to remove us from the premises. I was taken aback by her sudden aggression, especially since all I wanted was to inform my son about our departure. Despite my attempts to remind her of the professional-customer relationship, she continued to yell needlessly. This behavior was shocking and unacceptable, and it's disappointing to think that LA Fitness would condone such treatment of potential customers.

The LA Fitness location at Miller Square Shopping, [redacted] SW 56th St, Miami, FL [redacted], has some concerning issues. The steam room is only operational on weekdays; weekends are consistently problematic. Cleaning standards seem lacking, especially on Sundays. The gym opens at 5:00 AM on weekdays, but members often find the facilities disorganized and unclean. There is a designated area for trainers that remains unutilized, causing inconvenience for members. Despite member complaints to staff and management, little improvement has been seen. It is hoped that these concerns, including the steam room problem, will be addressed promptly for the benefit of all members.

I signed up at LA Fitness on August 16, [redacted], at Creekwood Crossing with card number F[redacted]4. Due to worsening plantar fasciitis, I couldn't use the treadmill or attend the gym. Despite this, I kept paying the $26.74 fee in August, September, and October, hopeful my situation would improve. Today, I visited to cancel my membership but was charged an additional $37.45 on top of the regular fee. When I inquired about this charge, I was told it was an annual fee that couldn't be refunded. I believe it's unjust to insist on this charge when I've been unable to use the membership since August. I'm not seeking refunds for past months but shouldn't have to pay the annual fee under these circumstances.

Dear LA FITNESS Team, I used to have a subscription with you at LA FITNESS NORTH MIAMI. Due to traveling reasons, I approached you to disable my membership since I left the US on September 20, [redacted]. However, up to now, charges are still being debited from my card even though I am no longer in the US. I requested the deactivation three months ago and have been charged for September, October, and November. I kindly ask for a refund from October to the present date. It is not acceptable to continue debiting my account while I am in another country. I appreciate your prompt assistance with this urgent matter. Regards, J. P. Esquivel

I recently purchased personal training at the gym to be coached by the person who sold me my membership. However, on my first training session, I was surprised to be trained by a different coach, and the session only lasted 19 minutes with a few short exercises. As a long-time member of LA Fitness, my expectations were not met. I did not feel the need for personal training, as I already have years of experience working out. I would prefer to exercise independently and would like a refund for the personal training sessions. Although personal training can be beneficial for many, I feel it's not the right fit for me, especially when I expected a more experienced trainer based on my initial interaction with the salesperson.

As a new member at LAF Cumberland Mall in Smyrna, GA, I'd like to address some concerns: 1. The equipment is old and needs maintenance. 2. The facility requires thorough cleaning of windows, carpet, walls, and especially floors. 3. The men's locker room is dirty, with cracked sink tops that seem never cleaned. 4. The shower stalls are dirty with black mold. 5. The wooden benches in the steam/sauna room need bleaching. 6. Concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of the hot tub/spa filter. 7. Staff at the front desk seem preoccupied with their phones instead of assisting customers. I hope these issues can be looked into by a quality control person for the facility. Thank you, J.

As a member of LA Fitness, I need to share my concerns regarding the location in Hyattsville, Maryland. The sauna and pool area have been unexpectedly closed for nearly a month without prior notice. Despite paying the usual membership fees, these facilities remain inaccessible. Many members, myself included, rely on these amenities that are included in our membership. After reaching out to the branch manager, I was informed about ongoing repair work causing the closure. However, the prolonged duration of this maintenance is disrupting our access to essential gym features.

Hello, I am a member of LA Fitness in Vista, CA and I would like to raise a concern that many women might share but may not voice. It would be beneficial to have separate sauna facilities for men and women. There have been uncomfortable situations where men have been overly aggressive, invaded personal space, and made inappropriate comments towards females in the sauna. This has led me to drive to the Oceanside location just to avoid these encounters. Instances like individuals smoking weed in the sauna, unwelcome advances, and disruptive behavior by some men have created a negative environment. I support the idea of separating the sauna by gender to prevent such incidents in the future. Thank you for considering this request.

Hello! I am trying to cancel my gym membership, but I can only do so in person during working hours, which is a challenge for me since I work then. I read online that I could print a membership cancellation form, but I don't have a printer or supplies to mail it. It feels like a lot of hoops to jump through just to cancel, especially since I haven't used the gym in two years. After contacting LA Fitness on Shawline St in San Diego, CA, they advised me to email [redacted] to cancel. However, the email bounced back as not valid. When I called them, I was put on hold and then disconnected. I'm going there in person to try to resolve this issue. I simply want to cancel my membership without all this hassle.

Hello, I called last week and was put on hold for over an hour and still have not received a call back. I recently purchased a personal training contract after signing up for a membership, but I did not receive the anticipated benefits during the training session. We only completed 4 exercises with 3-4 sets each, finishing in just 19 minutes. I have been a member of LA Fitness for nearly 7 years and, as a 22-year-old who regularly exercises, I did not find the personal training session satisfactory. I am requesting a refund for my payment and cancellation of the contract. While I understand the value of personal training for those interested in learning about diet and exercise, I believe my needs were not met. Thank you, please contact me at your earliest convenience at [redacted].

My spouse and I are members of the fitness center located at Bulverde Road and Loop [redacted] in San Antonio. Since December [redacted], machine number D23317, the free motion/calf machine, has been out of order and unusable. It is a unique machine, and we are wondering why it can't be repaired or replaced. Additionally, the hot water in the shower has only been lukewarm recently, which is not ideal after a workout. We are hoping this issue will be addressed promptly. I reported these concerns to the front desk attendant, Will, on December 2nd. I also left a note for Josh, the operations manager, explaining the situation and requesting a callback. Unfortunately, I have not received a response yet. I trust this matter will not be overlooked. Keith W. F[redacted]7

Hello, I visited LA Fitness last night to try it out with a friend who is a member. I planned on getting a membership during a promotion, like around Christmas or New Years. I inquired about a guest pass for the one hour I worked out but was told they do not offer them. Despite this, I joined. Checking online today, I discovered a 5-day free guest pass that was not mentioned, even though I asked. Feeling misled, I wish to cancel my membership and receive a refund. I prefer to stick to my original plan of waiting for a better deal and would like to make use of the 5-day guest pass. I await your response. Thank you.

To Whom It May Concern, I have been a loyal member of the Somerdale, NJ club since its opening. Over the years, I have appreciated the managers and enjoyed working out there. However, on November 28, [redacted], someone stole my expensive North Face parka coat. Despite storing it behind an unused rack like usual, it disappeared. Although I understand my responsibility in not securing it in a locker, I have always trusted the environment. After reporting the incident to Dan, the manager, he seemed unhelpful. He initially mentioned no security cameras, then later revealed there were some. When I suggested checking footage for a suspicious individual, Dan seemed reluctant. He eventually confirmed the person was a member but couldn't link him to the theft. Disheartened by Dan's indifferent response and refusal to compensate me for my stolen coat, I decided to cancel my membership. His lack of concern for member safety and customer service was disappointing. I hope someone reasonable reaches out to address this issue. Sincerely, James M. [redacted]

I have been struggling to cancel my membership for the past 3 months, but no one seems to assist me. Due to my work schedule from 9-6 on weekdays, I was informed that the only way to cancel was by visiting a location. Despite visiting the Mississauga, Ont. branch a few months ago to cancel the membership, I am still being charged. The Milton and Brampton locations have been unhelpful and relentless in contacting me daily. In particular, the representative at the Milton location named Phillips/Phillip was exceptionally rude, denying me access to a manager and refusing to provide his full name. I called the number ‭[redacted]‬ on December 3rd at 1:06 pm seeking assistance. It is frustrating that while I was able to sign up over the phone without visiting a location, canceling seems nearly impossible. I resorted to blocking my credit card as the last contact from the Brampton location ([redacted]) insisted on payment for a month I won't even utilize before canceling. I urgently need help to terminate this membership promptly.

I am a 77-year-old member of LA Fitness, AGT #F[redacted]01, and I typically work out at the location on [redacted] Vega Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5L 5Y3. The swimming pool's temperature is usually set to 83F, which I find too cold for swimming due to my health concerns. I asked for it to be raised to 84-85F, but the receptionist, Jacky, informed me that it is a corporate policy to keep it at 83F. I have chronic back problems, multiple health issues, and have had heart bypass surgery, so a slight increase in temperature would be more suitable for me. Despite showing evidence that the recommended temperature range is 83-88F, Jacky initially seemed reluctant to adjust it. Eventually, she raised it to 85F, but claimed that further adjustments could lead to complaints from other members. I found her dismissive attitude and lack of consideration troubling. I believe this behavior needs to be addressed, and I kindly request that the pool temperature be maintained above 84F. Thank you. Regards, Rashid Ahmed

I attended my regular spin class, and the music combined with the trainer's voice was extremely loud, causing me discomfort and making it hard to hear. Despite my attempts to signal the trainer to lower the volume, he continued at the same tone. I approached the front desk and requested them to speak with the trainer about the loud music. Unfortunately, they ignored my request. I returned to the class, hoping for a resolution, but they disregarded my concerns. When I asked for their names, the staff refused. I spoke with a sales representative who was unhelpful. The lack of assistance and refusal to communicate has led me to consider canceling my membership. My primary goal is to exercise, not endure potential hearing damage.

I had a 5-day temporary membership, but was only able to visit twice. A friend, A.I., won a chance to sign up 5 members for a 2-week free trial. Despite receiving daily calls to attend, I finally went today only to be told I couldn't try the 2 weeks as I had already used my temporary pass. This policy has left me disappointed and has affected my friend, who is also upset and plans to cancel his membership, as will his family. I feel the continuous calls to attend are misleading when access is denied upon arrival. The "Spin to Win" promotion feels deceptive due to the restrictions in place, making it seem like we aren't truly winning anything.
