I have had a disappointing experience with the Aqua Fit instructor, Terri, on Monday mornings at the Huntington Beach (Yorktown/Goldenwest) location. Many of us have raised concerns with the manager, Brock, over the past three weeks, but it seems our complaints have not been addressed. Terri lacks enthusiasm, fails to give clear instructions, transitions between exercises without proper guidance, does not keep track of repetitions, uses dance moves like ChaCha that are not suitable for water exercise, demonstrates incorrect form at times, and starts the cool down early. Despite being a long-time member of the Aqua Fit class, Terri has not shown improvement in her teaching methods. I am not alone in my frustration, as class attendance has dropped to about 20 participants, while classes led by Shay on Wednesdays and Fridays draw 45-50 attendees. I urge the management to consider replacing Terri with a more effective instructor, even if it means rotating instructors weekly.

Hello, my name is Minsuk, I've been a member since January 21st, [redacted], and experienced an issue with canceling my membership due to an upcoming 5-6 month trip starting in July. Here's what occurred: On May 18th, I contacted the Bellevue LA Fitness branch to confirm that I wouldn't be charged for my upcoming bill on the 21st if I canceled in person that day. An employee reassured me that I wouldn't be charged and that I would receive a refund if mistakenly charged. After visiting the gym and initiating the cancellation process, I was informed my membership was canceled on May 21st rather than the initial visit on May 18th. Additionally, the manager explained that I should have canceled five days before the billing date to avoid the next charge, which I found contradictory to the contract terms. The manager mentioned that since I canceled in person instead of mailing the form, the refund policy wouldn't apply to my case. Despite billing being $32 monthly, which I can manage, I was disappointed by the confusion and lack of apologies or clarity from the staff regarding my situation.

I recently joined LA Fitness at Huebner/Babcock in San Antonio through the Well On Target program provided by my insurance. During my tour with Shane, I was informed of a complimentary personal training session. Although I declined at the time, I was later contacted by Shane to schedule the session. I explained that I preferred to familiarize myself with the gym first before considering training. Despite my multiple requests to not be called regarding this offer, I received repeated calls from Shane insisting on the training session. After reiterating my disinterest to Shane, he persisted and even attempted to justify his experience. Feeling pressured, I was compelled to end the conversation and requested to be removed from further calls about personal training.

I recently joined the local fitness center and had the chance to try a class at LA Fitness that convinced me to sign up there. However, a week later, the instructor for the class left, and I was informed that a replacement was being arranged. To my disappointment, instead of a new instructor, the entire class was changed to something I am not interested in. The other local gym offers a similar class, and I regret investing in the sign-up fees without getting the class I initially liked. I am seeking a refund and considering canceling my membership due to the unexpected class change. Thank you.

I recently signed up for the deluxe membership, including personal training sessions at the gym. Unfortunately, my session was rescheduled once, and the second time I arrived, the trainer was not available due to computer issues. Despite being told I would be contacted to reschedule, I never received a call back. I've tried to reach out to the gym twice, but keep getting redirected to voicemails. I've already paid $60 and now they are asking for an additional $[redacted] which I find unfair given the inconvenience caused by their lack of organization. I still want to continue going to the gym but would appreciate some assistance in changing locations. I hope to hear from the gym soon. Thank you.

Since leaving the U.S. in [redacted], I have been struggling to cancel my gym membership at LA Fitness in Hollywood. Despite attempting to cancel over the phone last year, the monthly fee has continued to be charged to my credit card. Even though I have not used LA Fitness services since returning to Brazil in September [redacted], they have been charging me $29.99 monthly. I am requesting that LA Fitness cancels this fee immediately and consider refunding all charges made since September [redacted], as I have not received any services in exchange. I look forward to a prompt response. Sincerely, Gabriel R. Passport Number: FP230888

I want to report an incident that happened at LA Fitness in Dallas, TX. While working out on Sunday, a cleaner with tattoos abruptly interrupted my session, causing a disturbance. I was re-racking weights on a leg press machine when the cleaner aggressively insisted I return them faster, even though they were left on the ground by a previous user. Feeling uncomfortable, I approached the front desk to voice my concerns and asked for witnesses. The cleaner's acquaintances initially defended him but later appeared unsure. Another employee named Larry, who was not present during the incident, unexpectedly asked me to leave the gym. I have videos documenting the altercation.

I have been a member for approximately 4 years and have never encountered an issue until today. I attempted to obtain a 2-day pass for my wife to gauge her interest in returning to the gym. Despite cancelling her membership a year ago due to lack of attendance, I inquired with the member service manager about the pass. Unfortunately, he likened the request to asking for a free burger at Carls Jr. He mentioned that they no longer provide these passes, yet I have seen them available in various locations at the gym. I have referred numerous individuals to la Fitness and spoken highly of it to my colleagues, but I will refrain from doing so until the member service manager receives proper training on professionalism. Witnessing my wife being disrespected left me feeling offended and though I chose not to escalate the situation, I believe the manager should be more mindful of his communication approach. While I do not seek anything in return, I am considering taking my business elsewhere due to this disrespectful encounter.

I recently joined LA Fitness in Palos Verdes, CA back in April. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. Initially, I inquired about any sign-up deals with the manager Michael, who mentioned I could sign up two people for a flat rate of $[redacted]. However, upon visiting the gym that same evening to sign up, Michael informed me the cost would actually be $[redacted]. Despite feeling misled, I proceeded with the membership. Soon after, I noticed an additional charge of $33.96 on top of my $54 membership fee. After contacting Michael, he acknowledged it was an error and assured me a refund, but it has yet to be processed. Moreover, I've now been billed a $35 annual fee while still awaiting the refund. This ongoing issue has left me extremely frustrated. As a young working woman struggling to make ends meet, I find the repeated overcharges and lack of communication deeply concerning. Despite my numerous attempts to reach Michael for resolution, no progress has been made. This situation requires urgent attention and resolution.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for 20 years and frequent the Anaheim Hills club. I have concerns about the pool area. It seems LA Fitness rents out 40% of the pool to Water Works from 9 am to 9 pm, causing frustration for members when lanes are closed off. The pool access and lanes are not accommodating for individuals with disabilities. Moreover, the women's dressing room is being used by children, with multiple showers occupied at once. This situation contradicts the club's image as an adult-only facility, and some members are considering finding a new gym due to these issues. The lack of communication on these changes is disappointing, and it's disheartening to feel like the concerns raised are not being addressed.

I first got a referral for a two-week free trial at the gym, but when I set up an appointment, they didn't honor the offer and I had to pay on the spot. Then, they pushed for a free evaluation with a personal trainer, who tried to sell me an additional $99 service claiming it wasn't part of the gym package. I felt misled as they didn't disclose this was a contract or explain the cancellation terms. When my daughter and I started the personal training, the 25-minute sessions they promised were split between us, leaving little time. The gym manager refused to let me cancel, leaving me frustrated and wanting to end the personal training but feeling stuck. I simply want to cancel the training and just use the gym, but the whole ordeal is making me reconsider being there at all. I hope for a prompt resolution to this situation. Thank you.

I recently signed up for a one-year personal training contract, but I am experiencing financial difficulties and the quality of the service is not meeting my expectations. Despite being promised a 45-minute session per week, my first session was only 30 minutes long, and I learned nothing new. Additionally, I have not received the workout plan promised to me. I am requesting that my contract be canceled, and I would like a refund for the services I have not yet received. Thank you.

I recently received my credit card statement and noticed an error. You charged me $51.98 for 2 months which is incorrect. I signed up for the offer on August 29 or 30 at the price of $25.99. Due to health reasons and impending open heart surgery in 3 months, I registered before seeing my doctor on Sept. 5. Unfortunately, I cannot participate in activities like swimming or aerobics currently. Given the circumstances, I kindly request to cancel my new membership and be refunded for the second month's charge of $25.99. I plan to rejoin after my surgery if everything goes well.

I was informed when I opened this account that it could be transferred to my boyfriend's name without any problem, as mentioned by two different managers at two different branches, Sheldon at Elmwood and Amy at Sheridan. However, I have now been advised that a $[redacted] fee would apply for the transfer. Due to financial constraints, with my boyfriend being a landscaper currently off-season and myself being a disabled veteran on a limited income with health issues, we are unable to bear this additional cost. It is essential for us to have the account under his name if one of us is going to use the gym, as my health condition limits my visits. Paying the transfer fee is not feasible after we were initially told it wouldn't be a problem, and creating a new account for him is not an option financially. Without the account being transferred, we might have to consider canceling it altogether.

I want to address some concerns I have regarding the Cattleman Branch in Sarasota. The sales team for Personal training seems to have issues with nepotism, special treatment, discrimination, and sabotage. It appears that when Torie Beltran joined a year and a half ago, things were going well until Mahustfa Altajar came in and things worsened. Together they hired Tori's best friend Caitlin Morrison, causing a collapse of camaraderie and teamwork. Some trainers are struggling to get new clients while Caitlin has over 30, causing a divide. The situation is causing distress among the team, and many are afraid to speak up due to power dynamics and fear within the workplace. The relationship between the VP Stephen and Tony Mahustfa Altajar raises concerns about further nepotism. I believe there are issues that need addressing to create a more positive and fair work environment for everyone involved.

On October 16, [redacted], while I was working out in the spin room at the West Los Angeles gym, the spin instructor, David, interrupted my workout multiple times. He moved a bike too close to mine and played music very loudly. David's lack of customer service and communication skills was evident. His behavior was not typical of other spin instructors and made me feel uncomfortable. There was no need for him to pressure me to join his class or ask me to leave if I didn't. The way he handled the situation was unprofessional. I felt bullied and my workout experience was negatively affected by his actions. It's important for gym employees to treat all customers with respect, and David's behavior was unacceptable. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure a more positive environment for all gym members in the future.

I contacted LA Fitness a month ago to request a refund for a personal training situation in Kearny, New Jersey. I signed up for 4 months but was charged for 6 months due to unauthorized actions. I have not used the classes and was promised a refund. However, no progress has been made, and now I am being asked for an additional payment. The service provided was subpar with no documentation or proper procedures. There was also an issue with a mistaken charge on someone else's card. Despite assurances of a refund and cancellation, these have not been fulfilled. This has caused great frustration as a long-time member who feels scammed and mistreated. I am seeking a swift resolution to this matter and request immediate contact from LA Fitness.

Due to my recent back surgery, I had to cancel both my membership and my wife's due to increased responsibilities at home. However, it seems that only my membership was canceled and my wife's was not, leading to charges of $32 per month for the past 4 months. We are disappointed by this oversight as we believed both memberships were canceled together. We kindly request a refund for the erroneous charges and ask that it be noted that my wife's membership was intended to be canceled back in June. The unexpected charges have been a burden on us, especially during my recovery period.

Hello, my name is Rajwinder K. I had a personal trainer membership where I was told I could cancel after 2 months, but later found out I couldn't cancel and had to stick with it for 6 months. Even after confirming multiple times that my membership was canceled, I was told I have to see the manager before November 14th to cancel, or else I'll be charged. The service was subpar with short sessions, and I believe the staff at the Brampton location need to change. I am requesting a refund for whatever amount possible as I no longer want to be a member of LA Fitness due to this situation. The only person who motivated me was a girl named Branda.

I have been a member at the LA Fitness gym in Woodbury, NJ for years, and I am extremely disappointed with the current state of the facilities. The equipment is old and often dysfunctional, the workout steps have not been replaced despite numerous complaints about their condition, which poses a safety risk. Additionally, the cleanliness of the gym leaves much to be desired. The workout room, mats, and floors are consistently dirty, with dust and debris accumulating without regular cleaning. The lack of instructors and classes further adds to the frustration. I urge the management to address these concerns promptly to retain existing members and attract new ones, especially with the competition from nearby gyms like Edge. Numerous members, including myself, have raised these issues with the staff, but unfortunately, no action has been taken to address them.
