To whom it might concern.*I purchased a John Deere tractor, E*** in July **** at the Lowes Store in Webster, NY. I used the new tractor a little more than * hours for the balance of the mowing season. In November of that year the tractor would not start. I went to Lowe’s and they said my tractor is under warranty for * year and I would have to contact an authorized John Deere service dealer. I contacted LandPro Equipment, Macedon, NY, ***-***-**** who is an authorized John Deere repair*dealer. LandPro assured me that I have a warranty but would have to pay $** for them to pick-up my tractor and bring it to their facility.*If it was just a bad battery, the cost of them picking up my tractor was more than a new battery. Because the tractor is covered under the warrant the repair would be no charge, they did offer another option. If I agree to wait for * month, a repair man will be on a road and in my area he could stop at my home and change the battery. I said fine and on January *, **** I took a half day off from work and met the service man from LandPro, as they promised. He walked in my garage with a new battery, changed it out, looked at a fuse and within ** minutes left. It was a bad battery. I was happy to have it fixed.*Two hours later a person called me from LANDPRO’s office. The person said, they suddenly discovered that the battery is not covered by warranty and that they would be sending me a bill for $***.**. They lead me to believe that it may be a battery issue and lead me to believe it was covered under the warranty. They never told me that the battery is not covered under the warranty until AFTER the fact. I strongly believe that this was nothing more than LandPro taking advantage of the situation. I could have purchased a battery for Lowes for $**.** myself. *What I am asking for is to be billed only for a new battery. You know your business and you knew when I first made contact that batteries are not covered under the basic warranty and never advised me of it. *Thank you*Greg Clarevsky
