Hello,**Today I picked up a Dodge Challenger from DTW airport for a month long rental. I live in the Detroit area and this was the only location that rented adrenaline collection vehicles.**I picked it up and drove the vehicle home. When I walked around the rear of the vehicle I spotted the rear tires - which were completely bald. Less than **** of an inch on the driver's side and similar level of wear on the passenger. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.**I called Customer service and they were very helpful in resolving the issue. However, I had to take the vehicle to a tire shop. I eventually found a shop who would deal with Hertz, and they were able to put two new tires on the car.**I rented this vehicle primarily for a long road trip - at a cost of nearly ****$. I realize that mistakes happen, but how does a car for a month long rental get out on the lot with bald tires? Heck, even for a weekend rental, this is dangerous. Thank goodness I just happened to spot it when I walked by. It was dirty and clearly not cleaned, which I can forgive, but I can't let go of something that could potentially cause a loss of control in something as simple as light rain.**And then on top of that, I had to spend half of my Saturday fixing a problem that wasn't my fault. Again, customer service was great and so was the tire shop I used, but I lost half a day fixing Hertz's problem.**Again, I understand mistakes happen. I'm not mad about that. But I think Hertz corporate should be aware of the fact one of their locations let a car go in a state that was completely unsafe. The legal liability, let alone the personal safety issues here is crazy.**At a cost of nearly ****$, I think I deserve better. I'm happy to keep this car for the next month, now that it's safe to drive. But this is the first - and last - time I rent anything from the Hertz DTW location.
