Dear Sir/Madam, I recently filed my taxes with H&R Block and am encountering an issue that I hope you can help me resolve. In [redacted], I had two jobs and filed my federal returns with my first W-2 form. Upon receiving my second W-2, I added it to my taxes, increasing my federal returns from $[redacted] to $[redacted]. However, when checking the IRS website, it still shows $[redacted]. I received a tax refund of $[redacted], and the remaining amount seems to be missing. I am unable to refile with the second W-2 as it states it has already been submitted under my SSN. I am Deividas Varna and filed my [redacted] taxes with H&R Block. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on obtaining the remaining taxes owed to me. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Deividas Varna

My niece completed her taxes using TurboTax as single under her Social Security number, while her husband, from whom she is legally separated, filed separately through H&R Block. In the previous year, they filed jointly using H&R Block. Unfortunately, she mistakenly provided outdated deposit information on her taxes, using the Emerald Card details from two years ago. Upon checking with the IRS, she discovered her refund was deposited on 5/9/18 but did not reflect in her bank account. After contacting the IRS, she learned the funds were deposited into the H&R Block Emerald Card. Despite attempts to rectify this with the card issuer, they refused to assist as her husband's Social Security number is linked to the card. She now faces the dilemma of retrieving her refund without involving her ex-husband. She seeks guidance on how to compel H&R Block to return the funds to the IRS for a paper check re-issuance under her Social Security number, as it appears illegal for her husband to claim the refund filed under her SS#. She contemplates whether legal intervention may be necessary in this situation.

I would like to share my experience dealing with the district manager of H&R Block in NYC, Lynnette Dice. I had requested an appointment due to issues with my filed paperwork, but she failed to set it up. Consequently, the person I was meant to meet couldn't assist me, resulting in over an hour of wasted time. Despite contacting the employee, Lynnette did not bother to apologize to me. It's frustrating that I relied on H&R Block for accurate tax filing, yet for two out of three years, there were missing schedule A's. This is unacceptable, given the substantial fee I paid, nearly eight hundred dollars, for their services. I am dissatisfied and wish to escalate this matter to her supervisor. It's disappointing to invest a significant amount only to encounter incompetence and poor customer service.

I was notified by my expat tax preparers, Ms. Tourabi and Tanner Torre, that my return is complete and ready. They mentioned that it would be released for my review and submission to the IRS once I settled the $[redacted] preparation fee. Upon trying to pay online using the provided link, I received an error stating my card number was invalid. I attempted to call yesterday, but a recorded message stated the office was closed for Memorial Day. The time zone difference between the Philippines and your office in Kansas City makes it challenging to communicate. Kindly assist us in completing the payment process to finalize this year's taxes. Sincerely, Allen and Marcela Turner

Subject: Urgent Request for Claim Review To Whom It May Concern: I have made multiple attempts to submit this document to your office but unfortunately, have faced repeated delays and lack of communication. As a long-time customer, I expect my claim to be processed promptly with interest accrued since 4/30/[redacted]. It is essential that my efforts and patience in dealing with the local office are duly acknowledged and compensated. I eagerly await a timely follow-up on the status of my claim. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Andrea S. [redacted] Amber Ridge Asbury, IA [redacted] [redacted]

I visited H&R Block on May 5, [redacted], to file my taxes for [redacted] and [redacted] together. Before starting, I inquired about the fees for both years. The representative confirmed there would be separate charges. Due to a power outage, I had to return in 30 minutes. When I returned, the representative completed the paperwork. However, she did not attempt to exempt me from the health care penalty despite my low income in [redacted]. This resulted in a $[redacted] fee deducted from my anticipated return of $[redacted]. Additionally, while finalizing, I noticed she charged me $[redacted] for both years, which seemed excessive. Furthermore, my [redacted] taxes had errors and needed corrections as she did not review them with me properly. I am disappointed with the service provided and the errors that have now delayed my tax returns further.

I have been a loyal customer of HRBLOCK for an extended period, using the Premium Tax Package. In [redacted] and [redacted], the software generated a [redacted] form without including the Schedule D, leading to IRS discrepancies concerning taxes owed, mainly due to capital gains/losses in securities. While I manually corrected the [redacted] issue, a similar IRS bill was received for [redacted]. Including the Schedule D with the cost of securities, not just proceeds, could have prevented these tax errors. It is concerning that the Premium software overlooks such crucial details. I urge HRBLOCK to address this issue promptly. Thank you.

I was informed that your fee would be taken from my federal refund. Your company did not submit the necessary Obamacare documentation, causing a significant delay in my refund. When I received it, the amount was as expected after deducting your fees. I have yet to receive my state refund. After contacting the state, they confirmed it was sent to the financial institution. When I spoke to your customer support today, I was told that my state refund was withheld. Despite being transferred to the Emerald card department, I do not have an Emerald card. The system only prompted for the last four digits of the card number with no other options. If my state refund is not released within 24 hours, I will escalate the issue on social media and with relevant authorities until the money is returned. As a single father with three children, one with medical needs, I urgently require MY money for an upcoming uncovered medical appointment.

Hi Denise, I hope you are well. I'd like to inquire about my tax situation and estimated tax payments for [redacted] to the WI Dept of Revenue. To give you a quick overview, after working in Milwaukee, I took a contract in Waukegan, IL in January [redacted]. Unfortunately, my employer withheld state taxes at the Illinois rate instead of Wisconsin, leading me to owe Wisconsin around $[redacted] more than what was withheld in [redacted]. As I returned to Illinois in [redacted] without adjusting my tax withholding to Wisconsin, you estimated I owe Wisconsin about $1,[redacted] for the period of 1/1/[redacted] through 4/30/[redacted], considering my move back to Illinois on 4/28/18. Following your advice, I made a $[redacted] estimated tax payment for Q1 to Wisconsin on 4/16/18. As the Q2 estimated tax payment is due on 6/15/18, my concern is if I can opt for a smaller Q2 payment since I've had a gap in income with my contract ending. I start a new assignment on 6/11 and wonder if paying $[redacted] or $[redacted] is possible, knowing I'd need to catch up with a Q3 payment in September. I'd appreciate your guidance on this. If this issue falls outside your area, could you direct me to the right contact at H&R Block for insight on these [redacted] Estimated Tax payments to Wisconsin? Thank you for your continued support. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, Sharon S.

Hello, I would like to share my experience regarding my [redacted] taxes filed with H&R Block in Broadview Heights, Ohio. Despite being informed that I owed nothing to the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) for [redacted] at the end of my session, I have received a bill claiming otherwise. Due to this discrepancy, I will not be returning to H&R Block. I believe an audit of this location may be necessary to ensure accurate tax filings for all Broadview Heights residents, as local taxes are payable to RITA. Thank you.

I recently had my taxes prepared by H&R Block, and due to an error, the IRS audited my parents instead of me. They claimed I had paid for health insurance under Obamacare when I hadn't. It seems the H&R Block agent didn't accurately document that I paid for my own insurance. As a result, both my dad's and my taxes had to be redone, costing us extra in taxes, CPA fees, and penalties. I am requesting compensation for these additional costs and a refund for the tax preparation fee I paid to H&R Block. Could you please advise me on the next steps, including the required documents, where to send them, and an estimated timeline for this process? Thank you. -LR

I visited the H&R Block office on Victoria Trail in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, June 30, around 4:30 pm. Upon arrival, I was assisted by a lady and another gentleman. The lady began working on my taxes within about half an hour, estimating a cost between $[redacted]-$[redacted] due to additional factors like a sold condo and fractional ownership. Despite feeling hesitant about the price, I continued the service. I noticed redundancies in her questions even though I had already provided the information via email upon arrival. Towards the end of the session, I was surprised to learn that the final cost would be $[redacted] after a total of 2 1/2 hours. I expected the service to be more time-saving and felt the hourly rate was too high given the circumstances.

I have been utilizing your online service for more than 5 years, and I truly appreciate it. Recently, I tried to schedule an appointment at a local office due to concerns about my [redacted] taxes. Even though I found an available appointment online for 20 minutes later, upon arriving, I discovered the office was closed for walk-ins. This left me baffled as to why last-minute appointments were seemingly available. When I contacted customer support, the tax expert and I had a rather confusing conversation. Despite my initial explanation about my changed withholding, she assured me that my taxes would be lower than last year. I was seeking guidance on whether I needed to meet with an expert to estimate my tax liability, but instead, I was advised to adjust my withholding at work. Feeling unsettled, I resorted to calculating my potential taxes on the IRS website, which indicated we would owe $52. Although I still lack complete confidence in this result and plan to consult a CPA for reassurance. Despite this experience, I am considering using your online service again next year, especially with its potential for a streamlined process. Nonetheless, the lack of knowledge and service provided over the phone has left me disheartened. I had hoped for assistance from an agent, but I was left feeling uncertain about the level of expertise moving forward.

I utilized your complimentary online service for my [redacted] New York State tax filing. I recently received a letter from the state indicating that my [redacted](h) retirement income was omitted. I've devoted two frustrating days attempting to access this return online or reaching a representative through customer service without success. While I cannot view the return through my account, I possess a screenshot of the online entry that I accessed in July [redacted] for another purpose. The amount of $1,[redacted] is conspicuously present on the Public employee [redacted](h) retirement line under New York Additions. It is evident that I input and saved this information when I filed my [redacted] taxes in January [redacted], as I wouldn't have been able to view it in July [redacted] otherwise. Although I am uncertain about what occurred in the interim, I seek clarification on why the state is reporting a discrepancy. Additionally, I am requesting reimbursement of the $87.36 fee that H&R Block is imposing. I believe I should not face penalties as I accurately provided the information on the online form and validated it before submission.

I have used HR Block to file my taxes online for years. After submitting my taxes for [redacted] and [redacted], I was audited by the IRS. There were mistakes in my filings, such as missing receipts on my schedule C and a doubled mortgage interest deduction. When I sought help at an HR Block office, I was told I couldn't do anything since I used their online software. I am incredibly disappointed with HR Block's product, customer service, and assistance. I now owe the IRS over $50,[redacted], with interest accruing. This situation has caused me immense stress for over 2 years, all due to HR Block's software errors. I am at a loss as to how to resolve this without HR Block taking responsibility. I have learned my lesson and will hire a professional accountant in the future.

I used HRBlock to file my taxes in April. I wasn't given an option for how I wanted my refund. They said I'd get a check in the mail instead of direct deposit, which is inconvenient. I haven't received my IRS refund after waiting two and a half months. I reported it lost in the mail. Can I refile to get it direct deposited like I wanted initially? I wish they had asked me my preference in the first place to avoid this hassle months later. Thank you, Erik

I am having trouble obtaining a clear price estimate to amend my 2[redacted] tax returns. The changes involve adding computer repair and retrofit costs to my Schedule C due to cybercrime that I previously didn't claim. One representative quoted a flat fee of $99. Another simply said, "I don't know." A third mentioned that fees could vary. I have been with H&R Block for almost 20 years, and this has been the worst customer service experience I've had with them. I would appreciate a definitive answer regarding the cost of amending my taxes in writing. Thank you, Ricardo F. 92-[redacted] Hookeha Place Kapolei, HI [redacted] [redacted]

On March 1, [redacted], I filed my taxes for the years [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]. However, the tax preparer, Robin Parsons, entered my address incorrectly. My tax return was sent back as undeliverable. After calling three times to rectify the address, it was still incorrect on the second attempt. Unfortunately, to this day, I have yet to receive my returns. I am now forced to handle this myself even though I paid your company for this service. It is frustrating to have paid for a service that has not been carried out effectively. I believe I should be reimbursed for the fees I paid considering the errors made by your company, which have resulted in me not receiving my refund. The lack of assistance in resolving these issues has left me feeling dissatisfied with the service provided by your company. - R. Ortega

I'm writing to address an issue I encountered with an H&R Block agent during the filing of my taxes. I used H&R Block for the first time in [redacted], filing for [redacted]. Opting for their services due to their positive reputation and my recent state relocation, I sought professional assistance to ensure accuracy and was willing to invest substantially for this assurance. Upon meeting with an “expert” at H&R Block and filing my [redacted] taxes, I later received a notice from Oregon state citing errors that required H&R Block's attention. Even though the issue was rectified, I recently received an unexpected tax bill from the IRS related to [redacted]. This unforeseen cost of both money and time prompted me to revisit H&R Block to address the situation, awaiting an IRS response to an amendment. Given the circumstances, I believe it is reasonable to request a full refund of the initial tax preparation fees or some form of compensation. While I would have accepted responsibility for any mistakes if made by myself, relying on H&R Block's expertise led to this ongoing issue which may impact my future decisions regarding tax preparation.

Hello, I'm reaching out for assistance with an issue I encountered during this tax season. Our tax preparation was handled by Edward L. Griffin at Piedmont Plaza in Atlanta, GA. Recently, we realized we hadn't received our state tax refund. After some investigation, it turns out there was an error with our contact information on the Georgia Form [redacted] due to missing address details. Although this was a minor oversight, I wanted to bring it to your attention to prevent similar issues for other clients in the future. Samantha M.
