Ticket ***********We travelled on a greyhound bus leaving New York to Toronto. We were initially supposed to leave at * and didn’t end up leaving until *.** pm. After driving for an hour or so, the bus stopped and the driver informed us that she would be unable to proceed with the ride because of mechanical difficulties. We were at this point waiting for over an hour while she went back and forth to the bus trying to figure out what to do. After an hour of deliberation , she decided that she Would have to call the greyhound bus and have them send a replacement because she would need a replacement. This ultimately led to*An entire four hour plus delay in our trip which is ridiculous because the initial hour delay we encountered before we boarded was told to us that it was because they were doing necessary measures to check the bus and make sure we would be good to*Travel although this didn’t happen. It is unfair to travel so hard to go to port authority on time just to be met with an hour delay then an hour into the ride we are met with a four hour delay. This is unfair to passengers who made all prior arrangements for arrivals based on provided bus schedule and I believe we deserve some type of compensation for this unfair treatment that could have been avoided had they took the proper precautionary measures when observing and checking the bus before departure. So I think it’s only fair we receive compensation for such a stressful and time consuming travel when they informed us the initial hour delay for departure was because they were taking the necessary meAsures to ensure the bus was up to par and we’d have a smooth ride but of which did not happen.
