To whom it may concern,* I called on Monday ******* to get help with my GE Electric Range Model JS***SL*SS. We turned on the glass top to our stove and it cracked during the heating process. I spoke with several people in the customer service department, parts, and lastly was disconnected when I tried to reach out to Customer Relations. * Yesterday I spent nearly * hours trying to get in touch with the right personnel to resolve my issue. First I was told it was past the manufacture warranty. I explained we were only * months over a year since it was purchased and I wanted an explanation as to why this would have happened during regular use. I was told that they never get complaints about broken glass tops and that I needed to be more careful. I was frustrated but continued the process to find out what it would cost to get the part and have it installed. (At this point I'm trying to determine if it cost more to fix then to buy a new one). They transferred me to parts for a price on the part. The part would cost north of $*** after tax and shipping. They couldn't quote an install price so the transferred me to schedule tech service. They could only give me a trip price and left the recommended amount for the install open ended for a tech to quote me on site. This was not helping me figure out a ball park figure. After expressing my frustration I was transferred to customer relations and disconnected. * I'm writing today to give your company one more opportunity to make things right with me. I have enjoyed my GE appliance and would purchase again if we can figure out a path forward. At the very least I'd like to know a ball park figure for part and installation. If I were being treated as a valued customer I'd like to have the part replaced free of charge and I'd pay for installation. I know things aren't free but with this being a fairly young appliance and with the pride and integrity I've known GE to have for the products I've purchased in the past, this is how I'd like to proceed.
