The GE profile oven is beeping and indicates "F1". The owner's manual states "Press the CLEAR/OFF pad. .....If function error occurs again, disconnect power to the oven." What does F1 mean?

The "F1" error code on a GE profile oven generally indicates a problem with the oven's control board. The beeping and display are a warning that the control board may be malfunctioning. The recommended action is to first press the CLEAR/OFF pad. If the error recurs, you'll need to disconnect power to the oven. If the problem persists after power is reconnected, it's likely that the control board needs to be repaired or replaced. Keep in mind that any such repair should be done by a qualified technician.

I have a GE FTW485ASWWB being delivered tomorrow. Page 8 of the manual “Step 2” says to add detergent to the TOP of the load AFTER adding clothes. Below on C - instructs to add detergent to the bottom of the basket. Which is it?

The steps you're reading are not contradictory but sequential for a top-loading washer. You first add detergent to the bottom of the empty basket (Step 2C). After this, you add clothes into the basket. Once your clothes are loaded, pour a little bit more detergent on top (Step 2, top of page 8). Loading this way ensures that the detergent is evenly distributed thoughout the load for a comprehensive clean.

how to defrost freezer for GNE27JYMNFFS

Defrosting your GE GNE27JYMNFFS freezer is straightforward. First, remove all the contents and store them in a cooler to keep them cold. Unplug the appliance from the power source to ensure safety. Leave the freezer door open to allow the frost to melt naturally, this could take a few hours. For faster defrosting, you could also place a pot of hot water inside the freezer to speed up the process. Make sure to place towels at the bottom of the freezer to absorb melted frost. Once all the frost is melted, wipe down the freezer with an absorbent cloth, let it dry, then plug it back in and restock your items.

Microwave door did not close completely, the left side bottom, where the pivit point is located seems to have dislodged or is missing a part. Can this be repaired or do I need to get a new microwave?

The issue you described with your microwave door could be due to various problems, such as a damaged door latch, a malfunctioning door switch, or possibly missing parts. While some components can be repaired or replaced, it is crucial to ensure the job is done correctly for your safety and the machine's proper operation. Please consult a qualified technician or a GE authorized service center to diagnose the issue and recommend the best course of action. Sometimes, depending on the age and overall condition of your microwave, it could be more cost-effective to replace rather than repair.
